Revenge of Reborn Villainess

Chapter 1

“In your husband’s eyes, there is no love for you.”

Amidst the beautiful garden of the mansion, two women stood facing each other.

The woman in a vibrant red dress with a pale face was Duchess Eshika Klaus, the wife of the Duke.

Born and raised in wealth, she possessed beautiful silver hair and blue eyes.

Facing her was Yurie Anesis, the daughter of the nanny who raised Eshika, and her only childhood friend.

Yurie’s lips moved slowly, “The person he loves is…”

In Eshika’s blue eyes, Yurie’s calm face reflected, and with a voice mixing subtle sympathy, she said,

“It’s me.”

The sound of leaves rustling in the wind filled the air.

Eshika’s blue eyes shook violently in shock.

***

It has been three months since Eshika told Yurie her feelings towards his husband.

“It seems he has found someone else. What should I do?”

Yurie, a nanny’s daughter, had followed Eshika to the Duncan House, whom she had married.

Even when faced with the criticisms of Duchess Leona Klaus, her mother-in-law, or the cold indifference of her husband, Count Kallian Klaus, Eshika had only one person she could trust in this hellish mansion and it was Yurie.

“But now, Yurie… betrayed me?”

The suspicion arose when Eshika noticed Kallian’s peculiar behavior after he purchased the “Alette Ring ” from a jewelry store.

It was a ring exchanged when lovers swore eternal love, and despite the excitement that maybe it was meant for her, Kallian remained silent for a whole month.

Now, on Yurie’s left ring finger, the same Alette Ring sparkled as Kallian had supposedly bought for Eshika.

“…!”

The realization had hit her, and so she suddenly raised her hand.

With that hand, she slapped Yurie’s cheek forcefully.

“Yurie! How could you…!”

As Eshika clutched her aching heart with her other hand, ready to unleash curses, however, Kallian’s voice appeared, grabbing a staggering Yurie.

“Your behavior is truly malicious.”

Kallian’s voice can be heard, as he grasps the cheek of Yurie where she had slapped.

“Kallian…”

Eshika’s eyes trembled.

Kallian Klaus, one of the three dukes in the empire, was Eshika’s husband.

His imposing height, sturdy body, and outstanding appearance were enough to feel an overwhelming presence.

“How long must I endure this disgraceful behavior? Even the maids who served in this mansion have resigned because of you. Now you even lay your hands on a friend who serves you.”

When she first married him, she thought she’d won the world.

Eshika could feel the contempt in Kallian’s chilling gaze.

She could sense that Kallian despised her, and that fact pierced through her heart.

Kallian, the heir to the Ducal Title with an upstanding family, while Eshika, who was born as a daughter of Baroness. Although she was a noblewoman who had made a fortune in the jewelry business, their worlds are still apart.

Everything from their trivial interests to their habits were different, and just as Kallian couldn’t understand her, she couldn’t understand him.

Esika thought she and Kalyan would make a good couple.  After all, the prestigious and handsome Duke Klaus was everything she had always dreamed of.

Despite three years of indifference from her husband towards her, Eshika thought that one day he would notice her, and so she kept trying.

But all she got in return was this betrayal.

“Kalian! You have no right to speak to me like that!”

“Don’t ever call me that again. My name.”

“Let’s go, Yurie.”

Kallian said in a whisper voice, placing a hand on Yurie’s shoulder.

Eshika’s eyes fluttered at the coldness of Kalian’s voice. The tip of Yurie’s red lips drew an arc, as if to mock Eshika’s countless efforts.

Eshika couldn’t bear it any longer.

With determination, she reached for Yurie’s hair, ready to tear it out, viewing it as the only retaliation she could take.

However, Kallian’s strong arms prevented her from reaching Yurie.

“Let go! Let go! I’ll kill you!”

With that, Kalian shoved Eshika hard, who was struggling to her feet,

“Ouch!”

Eshika fell backwards, spinning out of control.

A tremendous impact hit her head, and the grass was soaked with her blood.

At that moment, all she felt was that she wanted to die.
