Reverend Insanity :Savage Truth

Inside of the woods outside of the Hu clan. A group of light green birds were tweeting softly while picking at the soil. When all of a sudden they were pushed down by a net that came out of no where.

The birds then began admitting out a high piercing screeching noise, but then they were shoved into a a thick leather bag that dampened the cries by alot.

If only stealth scale gu could make others invisible. So right now it looks like a bunch of birds floating even though their in a bag. I then used jab gu and quickly made my way back to the clan. Before i was too close to the clan entrance i stopped using stealth scale gu becoming visible again.

After entering Hu clan once again i went to the clan board and turned in the birds. The birds are called green sirens, their vocal chords are great sound path refinement materials. However since they can fly and travel in a group their pretty hard to get.

With stealth scale gu i can sneak up on them and catch them all in one go. I caught a total of eight of them, the mission stated that each is worth five primeval essence stones and thats them dead. If their captured alive the reward is twenty each. So with this one mission i earned 160 primeval essence stones.

Which was much needed since all i had left was 8 primeval essence stones. This was a rank 2 gu master mission thats why it paid well. It also paid well since this mission didn't need someone powerful but someone skilled at capturing. After recovering my primeval essence i accepted another mission and left the clan once more.

With stealth scale gu i was able to capture many beasts, though i did learn not to turn in anymore females. Since the people who requested them planned on breeding them. So if i only turned in males they'll either have to change the request or continue paying me.

With the money i earned i bought two new gu. A pinky sized red and yellow snake, Rank 2 thermal vision gu which allows me to see heat signatures. Lastly the most expensive gu I've bought rank 2 well stored gu, which looks like a small water well the size of a cup. Its a storage gu created by Hu clan, it has the storage space of normal well, the only downside to it is that everything that gets put into it gets wet, but i can get around that by using water tight containers.

Now all that i lack is a defensive gu, so after some time completing missions i bought one I've long had my eyes on. The gu was a small little rank 2 ivory fish scale called bone scales. Activating this gu will give the user small fish scales all over the body that are made of the users bones. Its technically a bone path gu and it works well with my strength path as the defensive capabilities deepends on the strength of the users bones and my bones are already enhanced. If i can find a way to turn my bones into metal my defense will skyrocket. With this gu i now had a complete gu set, the only down side is that their not of the same path.

With a steady stream of primeval essence stones and lots of time cultivating i was able to reach middle stage. Things were going well so far, if things went this smoothly I'd be able to reach rank 3 in a year and a half. It wasn't until the clan let out a statement that i had a change of plans.

BATTLE OF TALENTS: Enter this tournament to show case your skills. A total of three matches with other gu masters of equal skill. Win your first match and win 30 primeval essence stones. Win your second match and win a free gu refinement from a refinement path master, and lastly for those who win all three matches not only will you get those two prizes but you will also win 1 very rare gu that you can either keep or trade for another in the clans gu vault. Lastly those who show promise will be selected by a higher up in the clan for a special event.

Higher ups in the clan? They must be talking about gu immortals. Other wise why not say the names of one of the mortal higher ups.

Still if one of the higher ups is an immortal and takes in someone. That person would have a smooth cultivation journey, but thats only if they select you. This battle of talents... i have to join it, the goal is the free refinement. I'll be able to reach rank 3 with the help of beggar moth gu, but after that with out increasing it to rank 3 i won't be able to reach rank 4. Unless I find a way to increase my talent, i wonder if i win all three matches and a get that rare gu can i trade it for a talent increasing gu.

With that in mind i began to buy and prepare some tools thankfully I bought well stored gu. So i could put away all my new tools. I even had to complete other missions so that i could afford to build some of my tools.

After preparing my tools i took a look at my self inorder to see what i could improve. Strength wise i have the full strength of a octopus, flower boar gu, sharp shark gu, and drop of strength gu. I could probably get one more temporary strength enhancing gu but that would take up more of my already limited primeval essence. I still have to have extra primeval essence to activate jab gu, healing membrane gu, thermal vision gu, and well stored gu. For now this is my limit, it be best if i could replace flower boar gu with a stronger beast or gain another permanent strength gu. With my enhanced body i could probably get four more beast phantoms. Its just that those gu are too rare and well kept by the families that own them. Even with that in mind im already consider well off. I'm only capable of all of this thanks to beggar moth gu other wise i couldn't even activate half of my gu the way I'd want to.

The only other thing that i could do to prepare myself for the tournament was to study and learn about the gu masters who could be said to be around my strength since the battles are supposed to be opponents of equal strength. Once again i had to spend some primeval essence stones to get information on rank 2 middle stage gu masters.

It makes me wonder though how are they gonna match me up against an opponent of equal strength. No body should know about my full capabilities, does it have to do with prior known battles or will they make an educated guess the first match and then adjust accordingly for the next ones. Maybe they'll have me fight against only strength path gu masters maybe not, but just incase i should focus on strength path gu masters around my cultivation level.

Two weeks passed and the tournament soon began. Due to the size of the clan and the amount of people who joined, the clan had to separate the gu master battles by rank, and they even had to have ten matches happen simultaneously. My first match began in ten minutes, I'm up against Vis a rank 2 upper stage strength path gu master.

I went over to where the clan was placing bets. Lets see... hmmmm it seems no one expects me to win this match. The odds are 5 to 1, after seeing this i took out a loan for primeval essence stones as i only a had about twenty left. I wagered one thousand primeval essence stones on my self and then entered the ring.

Soon Vis appeared she was a yellow scaled beast woman with the head of an eagle. Thankfully I've learned about her from the information i gathered prior. Shes a d grade talent and thats why shes a strength path gu master. She gained the permanent strength of three beats and her vital gu is long limb gu. Allowing her to stretch out her limbs up to 30 feet. Shes known to capture her targets and strangle them like a python.

I activated drop of strength gu to the limit and pulled out from my back a hand made ax that i recently created. As i did that Vis's legs grew out and she was headed right towards me. Then her arms grew out and she reached out to me, but that didn't last long as i readied my ax waiting for her to get close enough for me to strike.

Seeing me do so she retracted her arms back, but just as quickly as she did so her arm quickly approached me. Striking me in the stomach, her arm was like a serpent that quickly striked. She had used jab gu, but i knew she had one so earlier i activated bone scales and was protected from her strike, but because of her strength it did hurt quite a bit.

But the pain wasn't enough to distract me from my goal. As she struck me i grabbed her hand and yanked on it. Pulling her towards me, but it seems like it wasn't her first time dealing with this approach. Her other limbs gripped the floor slowing her down.

Well if i can't hurt your main body I'll go after your limbs. I struck at her limb that i had grabbed with my ax chopping off her left hand.

Vis[ YOU BItch!!! I'll fucken strangle you!!!]

She brought back her chopped off arm and tied it into a knott to stop the bleeding, but before she could do anything i backed away from her. She tried to catch up but i then used jab gu to avoid her range.

Vis[ stop running you coward!!!]

She continued taunting me but i ignored her and kept avoiding her for a few minutes. Eventually she started to slow down, she even lost control of her limb that i had chopped off.

Vis[ wha.... what..... did you... do to me?]

She slumped down to the ground struggling to move.

Shu[ my ax is laced with a special type of paralyzing venom. Its effects is normally weak, but it becomes stronger the quicker the target moves around spreading its venom.]

And with her long limbs her blood has to work much harder to spread throughout the body. Long limb gu could actually elongate the limbs more than 30 feet, its just that the body can't handle anymore then that. Not unless the user get a gu that can help with the blood flow and the pressure it puts on the heart. Walking up to Vis i put my ax to her throat.

Stepping out of the ring i went and collected my winnings. After i paid back my loans i made about four thousand primeval essence stones. It was a huge pay out for me. While i was doing that the people running the tournament soon decided on my next opponent.

Zapl.... that is not gonna be an easy fight.
