Rise of the Rejected Deity from Chaos

Chapter 180: The Real vs The Fake [2]

"Bring them in," the commander ordered and his assistant bowed politely, exiting the office to bring the visitors.

The commander's gaze was glued to the door, waiting eagerly for the visitors, while Seiya sat in silence, watching whatever was going on.

After a moment, the office door opened, and the commander's assistant came in, holding the door open for the Korean Humanity Savior and his assistant to come in.

As soon as they entered, a warm smile bloomed across the commander's face, rising to his feet to welcome them—though remaining behind his desk.

He stretched a hand across the table, shaking hands with Im Seun, and asking his assistant to adjust their seats for them. The commander sat back on his chair, and Im Seun and his assistant took their seat on the chair the commander's assistant pulled out for them.

Sitting before the commander within the confines of the office, a big smile was plastered across Im Seun's face. Clad in a dark blue suit, with hair slicked back, he gave off a responsible vibe—as did his assistant, dressed formally.

Im Seun's gaze wandered around the vast office, eyes taking in all the unique designs and furniture. As his eyes wandered about, they fell on Seiya, surprising him for a moment. He hadn't at all noticed Seiya in the room when they came in.

Who is this boy? Im Seun wondered, a bit confused by not just who the young boy was, but by the fact that the young boy hadn't gotten up to welcome him with respect like the commander did. Had the boy rose to pay him respect when he entered, he would've for sure noticed him.

Noticing Im Seun's gaze on Seiya, the commander spoke. "He's my son," he blurted, drawing everyone's attention to him—except Seiya's, who remained nonchalant despite the commander's words.

Im Seun's mouth fell slightly open, shock etched clearly on his features, mirroring the commander's assistant's expression. The reason Im Seun and his assistant had delayed coming here, was because they were investigating the commander, and they knew him to be divorced with no children whatsoever, so this revelation came as a shock to them.

The commander's assistant eyes were wide open at the commander, shooting him looks that silently asked what the commander was on about. But the commander ignored him, focusing on Im Seun.

"I adopted him not too long ago, so don't be too surprised," the commander clarified. Only then did Im Seun heaved out a sigh of relief, washing away his shock.

Hmm? So he's the commander's new adopted son, just a low life, Im Seun thought to himself, turning to glance once more at Seiya. His eyes narrowed at him, puzzled why Seiya had both a mask and a blindfold on.

His curiosity was definitely piqued, and he would've liked to find out why, but he wasn't there for such trivial matters, and would rather focus on the goal that brought him there.

"The adoption papers should be ready by today," the commander continued, glancing toward his assistant for confirmation, and the assistant nodded. "I should introduce him to everyone after all the formalities are met, to avoid confusion like this."

Seiya's brow twitched, feeling burnt out by the commander's plan of having him introduced to people, while the assistant only held a spiteful gaze toward Seiya.

Noting Im Seun and his assistant's expression that they would like to get straight to what brought them here, the commander smiled awkwardly, adjusting his sitting position to a more professional manner.

"Right, we should get straight into it," he said. "So, Im Seun, may I know what brought you here?" He asked. The probability that they came to accept their offer, not reject it was high but he still needed to ask, for formality's sake.

Moreover, the commander wanted to hear it directly from Im Seun's mouth that he would work for them, serve their country and not his.

"I have decided to accept the association's offer," Im Seun said, face rigid with seriousness. The commander's eyes locked onto his, smiling, and silently asking him to continue.

"I will work under the association, and serve this country," he continued. "Given that the association keeps to their word of giving me a high position and rewarding me handsomely for all my good deeds."

"The association is never one to go back on their words," the commander said, hands clasped and resting on the desk. "We will do all that we have promised and continue to do more as long as Im Seun doesn't betray or jeopardize the association."

"That's for sure. I didn't come to Japan with half hearted motives in the first place," Im Seun said.

"Excellent," the commander said with a nod toward his assistant. At the signal, the assistant crossed the room to a cupboard lined with neatly stacked files. He sifted through them briefly before selecting a file bound in a deep red cover, which he then handed to the commander.

"If Im Seun can sign here," the commander opened the file, pointing out where Im Seun's signature was needed. "And here, here…." He went on.

"Does Mr Im Seun wish to live here in the association like most HS or is he already doing well by himself?" The commander asked.

Tsk! Only now is he calling my name with respect, Im Seun sneered in his mind while his face reflected a big smile to the commander.

"If the association will provide a more comfortable accommodation for my assistant and I, then we'll be glad."

"I see. My assistant will have that handled," the commander said. "He'll also walk you through things here, like the monthly salary, and everything."

"Of course, Mr Im Seun will be receiving special treatment," the commander quickly added. "Now that it's been signed, you can move here, and commence anytime of your choice. For now, you'll be a one man squad."

The commander turned to his assistant, gesturing to him to lead them out.

"Walk them through things, and give them a tour around the association," he ordered. Then turning back to Im Seun, he said. "I will personally introduce you to everyone when the time is right, so please be patient."

Im Seun and the commander exchanged a handshake once more, before they walked out of the office.

The commander exhaled aloud, slouching back on his chair, his stiff muscles relaxing. "Thank goodness he didn't reject the offer."
