Chapter 35: Ice Hunter
Oscar was in rooftop of Beacon, he saw the clock do his Daily Quest go down and then it happened
Ding!
[Host has not completed the Daily Quest, host will be sent to the penalty Zone]
Aa then Oscar was sent back to the Icey Hell, he then saw the mountain size Ice bears as this time he had grin
Oscar pulled out Midnight Fang and Crimson Trigger. "Oh time for payback, I did this one purpose, last time I ran this time I will make you all run".
Ding!
[Titla Hunter Activated]
Oscar stood firm on the icy grounds, the towering Ice Bears roaring in the distance. Their massive forms loomed over him, their chilling presence as intimidating as ever. He gripped Midnight Fang tightly in one hand, Crimson Trigger in the other, his heart racing with adrenaline. Unlike the last time he faced these beasts, this time, he was ready.
The ground beneath him rumbled as the Ice Bears charged toward him, their huge claws scraping across the frozen surface. Oscar didn't hesitate. He darted forward, his movements swift as he activated his semblance. The ice cracked under his feet as he dashed across the terrain, closing the distance between him and the nearest bear.
The first Ice Bear lunged at him with a terrifying roar, its massive paw swinging toward him with blinding speed. Oscar effortlessly dodged, using his agility to weave around the bear's strike. As he passed the beast, he used Midnight Fang to slice through its side, the blade cutting through the thick fur with ease. The bear growled in pain but didn't falter, quickly turning to face him.
Oscar wasn't done, though. He activated Crimson Trigger, summoning a barrage of energy blasts from the gun's barrel. The shots hit the bear squarely in the chest, forcing it back with each impact. But the bear still wasn't down. It let out a furious growl and charged again.
"You're persistent, I'll give you that," Oscar muttered as he jumped into the air, launching himself off a nearby ice pillar. He landed behind the bear, unleashing another flurry of shots from Crimson Trigger before swiftly switching to Midnight Fang. With a swift motion, he aimed for the beast's exposed back, slashing down with precision.
The Ice Bear staggered, its glowing blue eyes flickering with the fading remnants of its life force. But as it fell, another bear appeared from the shadows, just as massive and furious as the first.
"Two at once, huh? I can handle that," Oscar said, his voice steady but filled with excitement. With a flash of his semblance, he teleported behind the second bear, slashing at its flank before it could react. The bear howled in pain, but this time, Oscar wasn't giving it any room to retaliate.
The battle raged on, each bear falling one by one as Oscar sliced, shot, and moved with lethal precision. His movements were a blur of power and grace, and with each beast he defeated, the cold, icy hell around him seemed to fade just a little. The more he fought, the more his confidence grew, and the more he could feel the thrill of the hunt.
After what felt like hours, the final Ice Bear lay defeated at his feet, its once imposing form now crumpled and lifeless in the snow. Oscar stood victorious, panting heavily but with a satisfied grin on his face. The icy wasteland around him was quiet, the only sound the wind blowing across the frozen landscape.
Ding!
[Host has completed the penalty quest: Ice Hunter. Rewards unlocked.]
Oscar looked at the notification, then at his weapons, feeling a surge of satisfaction. "Not bad at all."
Oscar's mind raced as the five new Ice Bears appeared before him. Their icy breath steamed in the cold air, and their massive claws scraped against the ground as they advanced. But Oscar was no longer the same fighter who had first arrived in this realm. He was stronger, faster, and more strategic, thanks to the countless battles and the challenges he had faced so far.
Without hesitation, he thrust his hand forward and cast [Fire Ball]. The sphere of fire ignited, hurtling toward the first bear. The flames exploded upon impact, searing the bear's fur and causing it to stumble back, growling in pain. But Oscar didn't wait for it to recover. He leapt into the air, [Fire Ball] still burning brightly in his palm as he soared above the creatures.
With a swift motion, he stabbed Midnight Fang deep into the skull of the first bear, ending its life with a clean strike. As the bear's massive body crumpled to the ground, Oscar's eyes narrowed at the others.
"Not enough to stop me," he muttered, lifting his other hand as he activated [Earth Pull]. The ground beneath him trembled as he pulled the remaining four bears toward him, their enormous bodies crashing into the earth with a thunderous roar. Before they could even react, Oscar clenched his fist and cast [Earth Spike]. Razor-sharp spikes shot out from the ground, impaling the bears one by one as they tried to get back to their feet.
The battle was fast, brutal, and efficient. But Oscar wasn't finished yet. He moved with precision, his weapon swinging through the air as he took out the bears' sight, plunging Midnight Fang into their eyes and severing their heads with deadly accuracy.
Ding!
[Host has leveled up
35 → 36]
Oscar let out a sigh of satisfaction, glancing at the fallen Ice Bears around him. Their massive forms lay still in the snow, defeated by his relentless onslaught. The feeling of leveling up was always a good one—especially now, when he knew each level brought him closer to being strong enough to take on whatever challenges came his way.
But he had no time to linger on that feeling. Another Ice Bear charged at him from the shadows, its enormous jaws snapping at the air. Without hesitation, Oscar cast [Fire Wall], summoning a towering wall of flames that burst into existence in front of him. The bear slammed into it, its fur catching fire as it struggled to break through. The creature roared in frustration, but Oscar didn't give it a chance to recover.
As the bear charged again, Oscar stepped aside, smoothly dodging its path with ease. He could hear the beast's footsteps grow louder, but he was already one step ahead.
Ding!
[Skill leveled; Fire Wall - Level 5]
Oscar grinned. Fire Wall had leveled up, making it even more powerful than before. It would hold its ground longer, and the flames would be more intense. But he wouldn't need it for long.
With his enhanced abilities, Oscar quickly moved in on the bear, activating [Earth Pull] once more to drag it into the ground. The bear struggled, but the pressure was too much. As its body was pulled deeper into the earth, Oscar didn't waste any time. He unsheathed Midnight Fang and sliced through the creature's neck, finishing it off with a single clean strike.
"That was easier than I expected," Oscar said, panting slightly from the exertion, but still with a satisfied smirk on his face. He was getting better at this, and he knew the Ice Hell wouldn't be able to hold him for much longer.
Oscar's eyes glinted as he looked around, watching the last of the beasts fall. The challenge was far from over, but he was ready. Whatever came next, he would face it head-on.
Oscar bent down, his fingers brushing the cold, jagged surface of what remained after the last Ice Bear was slain. His eyes narrowed as he examined the object that had been left behind—a shimmering, translucent dagger, its blade glistening with an eerie blue glow. It felt almost unnatural, as if it were crafted from pure ice yet held the strength of steel.
Ding!
[New Item: Ice Dagger, would host like to see what it's about?]
Oscar stared at the notification, contemplating his decision for a moment. He wasn't exactly sure what the Ice Dagger's properties were, but he knew that whatever it was, it would be a useful addition. However, there was something else he considered—a special someone who might appreciate this weapon more than he would.
Blake.
She was always so focused and agile in combat, and the sleek, almost delicate design of the dagger seemed perfect for her. It was light, precise, and would match her style. Oscar grinned to himself, already imagining the look on Blake's face when he presented it to her. She'd probably be surprised, even though she never admitted it, but he knew she'd appreciate it.
"Yes," Oscar muttered to himself. "I think I will give this to Blake."
Without further hesitation, he tapped the notification, bringing up the item's detailed description.
[Ice Dagger
An elegant weapon forged from the essence of the Ice Hell. Despite its fragile appearance, it carries the strength of ice and the chilling power to freeze anything it strikes. Its blade shatters upon contact with an enemy's aura or upon a direct hit, causing a burst of ice to spread around, freezing enemies in a 10-meter radius. Durability: Low, but immensely powerful with precise strikes]
Oscar's eyes widened slightly at the description. He could already see how this could be an incredibly strategic tool for Blake. The freezing effect could be devastating in the right circumstances.
"Blake's going to love this," he whispered to himself, his determination building.
Oscar quickly stored the Ice Dagger in his inventory, ready to present it to Blake the next time he saw her. But there was still the matter of finishing his task here in the Ice Hell. With the Ice Bear threat neutralized, he was certain more challenges awaited, but for now, he had something to look forward to once he returned to Beacon.
His thoughts turned back to the battle ahead. He could feel his body itching for more action, the thrill of each fight pushing him to grow even stronger.
Oscar took a deep breath, steeling himself for whatever was next.
Time to take on the next challenge.

Oscar looked at his system as he smirked. "Will I have improved from the last time I checked it, still I don't need the warning for my Grimm Human Hybrid transformation, I already know sense".
Oscar scrolled through his system interface, mentally noting the changes since his last check. His level had increased, as expected, and the number of skills he had acquired was impressive. He was definitely becoming more proficient in combat and magic with each battle, his diverse set of skills granting him an array of abilities that made him unpredictable in any fight.
"Hybrid class... Cleric subclass," Oscar muttered to himself, the words rolling off his tongue with a knowing smile. He had grown into his abilities more than he initially realized. The title "Beacon Student" was familiar, a mark of his new life, but "Dungeon Explorer" carried weight as well. He'd been through more dungeons than he could count and survived the toughest trials. It was only a matter of time before he'd grow even stronger.
His eyes lingered on the Grimm Hybrid Transformation section, his smirk faltering as he remembered how incomplete the transformation was. It still needed a lot of work, but the bonuses to strength, speed, and regeneration were something he could definitely use to his advantage. He'd have to be careful, though; the Aggression Control needed to be high, meaning if he didn't keep his emotions in check, things could get messy.
Oscar clicked through the inventory items. The Midnight Fang and Crimson Trigger were as reliable as always. But then, his gaze shifted to the Ice Dagger. He'd already decided to give it to Blake, but now, seeing its entry in his system, he felt a sense of pride. It was a unique weapon with powerful abilities. It would complement Blake's combat style, giving her another tool to control the battlefield. Plus, the freezing effect could give her an edge in their next fight.
Oscar's focus shifted to the Skin of the Cleric Beast. It was an odd item, but one that worked well for him. The bonuses it provided were incredibly useful, especially for improving his speed and stealth. He'd have to experiment with it more, but for now, he was satisfied with its current boost to his stats.
His thoughts wandered for a moment as he considered his next move. He knew there were still challenges ahead—both in the dungeons and in his personal growth. He couldn't allow himself to get complacent. The Grimm Hybrid Transformation was a constant reminder of his potential, but also of the danger that came with it. He'd need to be cautious, controlling the power it offered while continuing to unlock its full potential.
"Alright, time to keep moving forward," Oscar muttered to himself, closing the system interface with a sense of resolve. "Next quest, here I come."
He felt the familiar adrenaline rush at the thought of more challenges. With his current stats and abilities, he was confident he could handle whatever came his way.
