-June 24th – Saturday-

June 24, 1995, the last Saturday of the month. That was today's date.

And this could seem like any other date, a normal day like any other. However, for everyone at Hogwarts, today was a very important and long-awaited day.

And not just for the people at Hogwarts, but for many people throughout the wizarding communities of Europe, particularly those in Britain, France and Norway.

And putting an end to all the mystery, today was the day that the third and final task of the Tri-Wizard Tournament would take place, the most anticipated and exciting event of the year.

And to be more exact, the third task would happen in about 2 hours, and I, as a champion and one of the main parts of this tournament, was in my room getting ready.

I was wearing my best equipment, which consisted of my combat and stealth clothes, which contained various enchantments and spells.

And looking at my outfit I realized that it needed some minor adjustments, because even though it was almost unnoticeable it still had some small cuts and holes, the result of my latest adventures.

And besides, I knew that soon it would no longer fit me because I was growing too fast, and not even growth enchantments would solve that.

And even though this outfit had several self-repair and protection enchantments on it, it was already quite worn out, which was normal since no spell or enchantment was infallible and lasted forever.

And these clothes being worn out was no surprise, since I had already used them to: face Quirrellmort in the Forbidden Forest in my first year, fight and kill the Basilisk in the Chamber of Secrets in my second year, infiltrate the Ministry of Magic during Sirius and Pettigrew's trial in my third year, and also to hunt Death Eaters in the Quidditch World Cup final in the last summer vacation.

'Heh, I think considering all the troublesome and dangerous situations I get myself into, maybe I'd better change this outfit for a new and better one instead of just making some adjustments to it.' I thought with a snort.

'Well, when this school year ends and summer vacation arrives I'll look for a clothing store that makes and sells clothes made entirely from dragon leather... Or maybe I'll even use the basilisk skin I've been keeping with me' I reflected, finally finding a use for the giant snake corpse that was in my suitcase.

But shaking my head I decided to leave this subject for another time.

And looking at the mirror in my room I checked myself to see if I was properly prepared and protected.

My outfit were still the same, being pants, a long-sleeved shirt, leather and iron boots, and fingerless gloves.

But now instead of being completely black, my clothes had some details in turquoise blue, navy blue, and white on it, as well as having the Hogwarts crest printed on the back of my shirt and the Ravenclaw house crest printed on my right sleeve near my shoulder.

And of course, I wasn't wearing my jacket either, much less my white mask or my cloth mask that covered the lower part of my face.

And I had made these changes to my outfit because I knew that it was very likely that someone would recognize me as the mysterious killer who 'attacked' the camp on the day of the Quidditch World Cup final if they saw me wearing my full outfit.

'Note to self, prepare combat clothes of different styles and colors so I have more options of what to wear' I thought, knowing it would be bad to rely solely on my stealth outfit.

But coming out of my thoughts I looked back at my reflection in the mirror, and seeing that everything was okay I nodded to myself, before turning to leave my room.

"Meow" and Nyx, who had been lying lazily on my bed all this time, saw me heading towards the door, and she then got up and started following me out of the bedroom.

"Hey girl, are you going on another one of your walks?" I asked with a smile to the cat walking next to me.

"Meow" Nyx meowed, looking at me as she moved closer to my feet.

And seeing her approach I tilted my head a little confused, and with my empathy I could feel Nyx's concern and nervousness directed at me.

"Huh?" I blinked, not understanding the reason for these feelings of hers.

But after thinking about it for a bit, I remembered that animals' instincts, especially felines', were sharper than humans', and that made me realize that Nyx was probably worried about me because she could sense that something dangerous was going to happen today.

And coming to that conclusion I couldn't help but smile softly as I looked at Nyx.

"Come here you lazy little thing," I said, bending down and picking up the black cat in my arms.

And as soon as I picked Nyx up she turned to me and patted my arm with her paw, "Meow" she meowed, offended by the nickname.

"Oh, we both know that's true," I said with an amused look.

And in response to that Nyx just frowned, not trying to deny what I said.

'Heh, I can win an argument even against a cat' I thought arrogantly.

And taking me out of my thoughts Nyx stirred in my arms, and looking at her I could see what looked like a pout on her feline face.

"Meow," she meowed, and I could feel her feelings of concern and care.

"Yeah, I know, I'll be careful out there," I said, immediately understanding what she meant.

And to show that everything was okay, I started to caress her lightly.

And I didn't know if it was my promise or the fact that I was scratching behind her ear, but Nyx snuggled into my arms, and I could feel her calming down.

And after calming my cat's emotions I continued to walk towards the common room, where my friends were waiting for me to wish me good luck before the third task began.

"Hey guys," I said as I finished walking down the stairs of the boys' dormitories, seeing my friends sitting on the couches in the common room.

"Oh, the prom queen finally decided to please us with her presence" Terry said with a mocking smile, getting some snorts and laughs from the other boys.

And if I wasn't holding Nyx I would have shown them my middle finger, but since my hands were full I had to settle for just looking at them dryly.

"Don't mind them Ethan, they're just jealous because you're going to be the center of attention tonight," Lisa said, smiling at me.

"Yeah, especially with that outfit of yours. It makes you look really handsome," Sue said, looking me up and down appreciatively.

"You know you guys saying that makes it sound like I really am a prom queen, right?" I asked with a slight twitch of my lips.

"Well, Sue isn't wrong. That outfit really suits you… It gives you a strong and dangerous, yet elegant look," Padma said, joining in the conversation as well.

And the boys who heard the three girls' praise and comforting words to me immediately started laughing, which caused the twitch on my lips to turn into a grimace.

'Could you three please stop trying to help me?' I thought looking at Sue, Lisa and Padma who just shrugged their shoulders with innocent smiles.

And shaking my head I decided to ignore them, before turning to my only ally in this room, someone I knew would support me and cheer me up in any situation.

And turning to Luna I saw her sitting in my armchair, with her being the only person I allowed to do this, "So Luna, are you excited to watch today's task?" I asked, smiling at the blonde girl.

"Uh-huh," she nodded, staring at me, her cheeks slightly flushed.

"Good," I nodded, "But well, unfortunately for you, you won't be able to participate in the task this time since the labyrinth won't need a hostage," I joked, remembering that Luna had found it fun and exciting to be a hostage in the second task.

"Uh-huh," and Luna nodded again, still not taking her eyes off me.

And hearing the dreamy girl's almost mechanical responses I blinked.

And looking at Luna I noticed her abnormal state, which made me look at her strangely.

"Err... It's an amazing night, perfect for a romantic dinner with the Giant Squid, right?"

"Uh-huh"

"..."

"..."

"Pudding is horrible"

"Uh-huh"

"..."

"..."

"..."

"..."

'Sigh, it seems I can't even count on my faithful friend' I thought, sighing in exasperation.

I then looked up with a solemn look, 'Are these the friends who said they would be here to wish me good luck?' I wondered.

After saying goodbye to my weird friends I left the common room and started heading towards the Great Hall, or more precisely, the room that was next to it.

And I was going there because Professor Flitwick had told me today at breakfast that my parents and Cele would be waiting for me there in the late afternoon, that is, now, for the meeting of the champions with their families.

And I was very excited to see my family, and so I was walking faster than usual as I took some shortcuts in the secret passages of the castle, wanting to get there as quickly as possible.

'I think I really need to spend some time with my family, both because I miss them and to calm down a bit before the task'

'And you know, when all this is over, maybe I'll take Cele to the forbidden forest to show her the unicorns there, just like I promised,' I thought, smiling slightly as I imagined my little sister's reaction upon seeing the beautiful and pure creatures.
