School Beauty's Invincible Martial Expert

Chapter 548: Tracking

"Haha..." Lao Youtiao burst out laughing upon hearing that.

"Let\\'s go, have someone follow him!" Captain Zhang laughed.

Just when he was interrogating Zhang Dakai in the office, Captain Zhang stood up, put on his hat and in that moment, he slipped a tracking device the size of a fingernail into Zhang Dakai's back pocket. Such a tiny object was hard to detect, especially for someone crude like Zhang Dakai.

Using his mobile phone's GPS, he could see that Zhang Dakai was constantly on the move. And he was moving quite fast. Seems like the guy had taken a cab.

Here, on Construction Road," Captain Zhang quickly directed the driver from the passenger seat.

The three officers in the back seat were also very tense.

Immediately, the driver sped towards Construction Road. The three officers in the back kept their eyes on the road, fearing they would make a mistake. Captain Zhang carefully monitored his phone the whole time, where a red dot on the map indicated Zhang Dakai\\'s location. Zhang Dakai quickly moved from Construction Road to Central Road, and along Central Road he sprinted towards North Central Ring Road.

Before long, the red dot came to a stop.

"He stopped!" Captain Zhang quickly said, "Hurry, North Central Ring Road, fast..."

He urged quickly, fearing the other party might slip away.

The driver floored the accelerator and the car\\'s speed surged, it dashed forward in the blink of an eye. They were moving incredibly fast. Within minutes, they caught up to a hotel entrance.

With a furrowed brow, Captain Zhang said, "He's in this hotel."

"What should we do?" an officer hurriedly asked by his side.

"Well..." Captain Zhang hesitated for a moment then said, "Everyone listen to me, we\\'ll search floor by floor. Two people per floor, that way we won\\'t miss anything."

"Okay!" The officer immediately nodded.

Then, Captain Zhang decisively led his team inside.

They did not seek help from the hotel staff but relied on their own strength to search. They feared alerting the hotel staff might accidentally tip off their target.

The officers were equipped with high-tech gear and communicated among themselves using low-frequency communicators. A small device, pinned an inconspicuous earpiece in their ears and a microphone on their clothes. They carefully kept in contact, ready to notify the other officers through their microphones if they spotted their target.

Ten minutes later.

"Captain Zhang, on the third floor!" At that moment, the officer Lao Youtiao on the third floor urgently called out.

Rustling...

Immediately, officers from the other floors rapidly mobilized, swarming towards the third floor. Upon reaching the third floor, Lao Youtiao waited in the fire escape for his colleagues. They greeted each other.

"Listen, he's in room 303!" Lao Youtiao whispered after casting a glance at them.

Anxious, Captain Zhang hurried over, "Where is it?"

Lao Youtiao pointed to the room and then asked, "Captain, what\\'s the plan?"

With furrowed brows, Captain Zhang whispered, "Are you sure?"

"Positive!" Lao Youtiao nodded, "I saw him go into that room with my own eyes."

"Don't rush!" Captain Zhang shook his head, "Let's keep watch for now. We'll reassess in ten minutes."

Lao Youtiao hesitated, then said, "Alright, your call!"

Then, they quickly ducked into the fire escape and lay in wait.

Through the crack of the door, Captain Zhang watched the target. Zhang Dakai indeed was a cunning fox. He intentionally rented an empty room, stayed inside for about ten minutes, then opened the door, looked left and right to make sure the hallway was empty, and swiftly exited before entering the elevator.

"You guys head upstairs, I\\'ll watch the elevator!" Seeing this, Captain Zhang promptly instructed, "I'll update you with any developments!"

"Yes!" Upon hearing this, the officers immediately nodded.

"Hurry up, move!" Captain Zhang urgently shouted.

The elevator was ascending to the fourth floor; after reaching the fourth floor, it continued its ascent to the fifth floor.

Finally, the elevator stopped at the sixth floor.

"Sixth floor, hurry, sixth floor!" Captain Zhang urgently yelled.

The group had already reached the sixth floor. While the elevator was more convenient and accessible, simply in terms of speed, it probably couldn't match the pace of people running upstairs. After all, people rely on their legs to run upstairs, and elevator speed has its limits. Plus, this small hotel only had eight floors and was only equipped with ordinary elevators, not high-speed ones.

Thus, the officers were very quick, sprinting up in the blink of an eye.

Upon reaching the sixth floor, the officers did not rush out immediately but instead observed which room the guy entered.

Zhang Dakai was extremely cunning and sly; he glanced left and right, then approached the door of the first room on the sixth floor and knocked. While knocking, Zhang Dakai continued to look around. The door of the room suddenly opened.

"Who are you looking for?" demanded a big burly man inside the room.

"Ah, sorry, wrong door," Zhang Dakai apologized hastily.

"Bang!" The door was immediately shut.

Several police officers crouched in the fire escape.

"That was close, almost rushed out."

"Yeah, really close."

The group quickly patted their chests, "If you hadn't held me back, I might have rushed out and arrested him and everyone in the house."

"Be careful, this Zhang Dakai is craftier than a fox!" Lao Youtiao sneered and then said, "No one can outsmart him. So, we better be cautious."

"Yes!" an officer nearby quickly nodded in agreement.

Seeing no one around, Zhang Dakai confidently walked to the third room and then knocked on the door. His knocking was rhythmic—three quick knocks followed by two short ones, repeated three times. Finally, the door opened.

"You're here?" In the room, a young man wearing a Duckbill Cap spoke.

"Yeah!" Zhang Dakai nodded and said, "There's been an incident."

"Come in and talk." Duckbill Cap hastily ushered Zhang Dakai inside.

After Zhang Dakai entered, Duckbill Cap looked around at the doorway, then quickly squeezed in. Afterward, the police officers hiding in the fire stairs immediately came out. They smirked and said, "The fox finally couldn't outsmart the hunter."

At that moment, Captain Zhang came out of the stairwell: "Where are they?"

"In the third room!" Lao Youtiao exclaimed with a grin. "Captain, what should we do?"

"Get the hotel staff to open the door, quickly!" Captain Zhang squinted and said, "Also, load your guns and be ready for action!"

"Yes!" Everyone's expressions immediately turned solemn.

After so many years with Captain Zhang, it was the first time they saw him so tense, even demanding that bullets be loaded. Was this situation truly that alarming? The group began pulling out their ammunition. The youngest officer said uneasily, "Captain, does this mean... are we going to have a shoot-out today?"

"Just in case!" Captain Zhang replied, giving him a glance.

"Right!" the young officer swallowed nervously and then said, "Okay."

It wasn't long before the staff member hurried out of the elevator.

"You need to help us open the door right now!" Captain Zhang spoke, "Also, make sure not to alert the people inside!"

"Yes, yes!" the staff member nodded hurriedly.

Then, the staff member walked towards room number three. Reaching the door, he was sweating profusely; he wiped the sweat from his forehead with his sleeve. His gaze was a bit uncertain, feeling like today might be his last day.

He had never seen such a spectacle before, only on TV. On television, police holding guns and drug dealers in hotels would engage in battles, potentially turning the place into a bullet-ridden zone. So, he was quite frightened.

"Is it really safe?" the staff member took out the room card.

"Don't worry, just open the door and step aside," Captain Zhang said.

"Okay... okay!" After hearing this, the staff member felt slightly relieved.

He carefully held the room card, then swiped it on the room's card sensor.

Beep...

A crisp sound.

Immediately, the door opened. The hotel staff member was so alarmed that he quickly dodged to the side.

Bang!

Captain Zhang kicked the door open. Four officers quickly rushed inside.

"Don't move, hands up!" the police officers shouted.

In the room, several people panicked and scurried around. One guy in his desperation dove into the bathroom. Another tried to jump out the window but before he could,

Bang!

A loud noise. A bullet exploded against the aluminum beside the window, sparking a shower of sparks, shocking and astonishing onlookers.

"Damn, that's terrifying." Zhang Dakai quickly lay down on the floor and threw his hands up high.

The guy trying to jump out the window was so frightened that he crouched down, and the three of them were subdued. Captain Zhang entered, took out handcuffs, and immediately cuffed the man who tried to jump. The guy in the bathroom stubbornly refused to come out.

Several officers kicked the bathroom door open with their feet, finding the guy huddled inside, trembling uncontrollably, devoid of any dignity.

The group was quite frightened.

"Search the place!" Captain Zhang snorted coldly.

"Yes!" Several officers immediately nodded.

Then, a systematic search of the scene began. Before long, they found various weapons stuffed inside a wardrobe, under a bed, and in two people's suitcases. There was a micro submachine gun in the wardrobe, a semi-automatic rifle under the bed, and a sniper rifle. The rest were various pistols, including Type 54, Type 62, and some revolvers.
