Second Draft - Reincarnated Into a Game in Impossible Mode

Chapter 30: Absolute Power

The countdown had just ended. All students quickly ran away from that place. Suddenly, the teacher jumped down into the empty space in the middle of the building, to everyone's amazement. A moment after Kenzo jumped, a loud sound echoed through the sky.

Their faces turned pale purple. Perhaps they knew that the abnormally strong teacher was below ground and still unharmed after that fall.

'Let's see... I have the Sniping skill... I should choose a spot that's just within range to snipe him and also enough to retreat in time.' - Ryoshu thought while running down the stairs with all his might. His physical condition was originally not good, so just running had already made him feel tired quickly.

Evidence of this was that he was panting like a dying horse. Others who passed by Ryoshu looked at him with quite a bit of pity.

The students were very agile and "united" with each other. They formed groups according to class and status. And most of them would form according to their race rather than with other races. For example, just now, an Elf deliberately bumped into Ryoshu's shoulder with contempt and then walked away as if nothing had happened. He went to join a group of other Elves.

Most Elves would use bows or Elemental Magic. Dwarves would tend more toward close combat. Meanwhile, humans would not favor any particular style; most of them would choose common weapon lines such as bows, spears, or swords.

'People from the nobility will be in a separate faction... and still segregate between this noble and that noble. But most of them are still privileged children of the elite.'

A girl ran past Ryoshu's face. He didn't recognize who she was.

'Maybe she's an NPC?'

The girl ran to a place where a crowd was gathering. That must be someone very powerful and easy to approach and talk to.

In his mind, there was only one such person. A central figure who holds extremely important connections for the future...

"Alice, can I join your group?"

Just as he had predicted, Ryoshu looked toward the leader of that noble crowd.

"That would be great. My group really needs people." - The pretty girl with a full figure and blood-red hair smiled kindly at the female friend asking... or rather, her pawns.

'That's the darling daughter of the Scarlet family, one of the Five Great Earls.'

If compared to Esther, Alice Scarlet was not much different except that she was purely evil. She played the role of a fake nice girl in front of all her classmates. And when alone, she would run several major branches of the Underworld.

In his first playthrough, Ryoshu had not noticed anything unusual about her. But later when he realized, it was already too late.

That boss had quickly destroyed his good storyline.

'I can use her. But I also have to be extremely careful... because I don't have any power at all, except for knowing some of her fatal weaknesses.'

After nearly a minute, only Ryoshu was left alone by himself. Perhaps it was due to his weak physique... or more accurately, the number 500 on his shirt.

That was the rather painful truth because no one would need the help or cooperation of the person at the bottom of the ranking.

Moreover, he didn't belong to the noble class either. And despite belonging to a lower class, he was too weak, so he was despised.

'Maybe it's also because of my appearance... because normally, someone like me could still be used as a meat shield.' - Ryoshu waited for a long time, but no one bothered to approach him.

In fact, on the contrary, people increasingly stood further away from him and began to discuss strategies with their groups.

Although they were divided like that, only the main characters formed a completely separate group. He had been observing them and felt that something was quite strange:

'According to the main plot, that Ryan guy had met the main cast in this event, right? So where is he?'

Ryoshu looked around searching for the scholarly figure with ginger hair. But no matter how much he looked, he couldn't see any trace of him.

'Perhaps this is another small change in the plot?' - He began to form another hypothesis about it.

But the time left before the teacher started hunting was quite limited. Ryoshu began to formulate a strategy to defeat him.

'Although the teacher's rank has been reduced to rank F... surely hitting Kenzo will not be easy at all. Because his experience and combat skills are still there... this is difficult.'

Finally reaching a good spot to shoot, Ryoshu immediately crawled into a gap under the staircase of that building. He was still scratching his head thinking about what he needed to do to score enough points for class A. Meanwhile, he took the opportunity to open the window facing Kenzo for easier shooting.

'I must hit him... even if just once. If so, I'm sure I can get into class A!' - Ryoshu put the arrow in the bowstring and pulled it taut.

Takagi Kenzo, the Hero of Japan, was standing in the center of the entire building. He just stood there with his eyes tightly closed, as silent as a stone statue. It seemed as if the teacher had been frozen.

All archers near him also began to panic more than ever because of the strange things happening.

'Wait a minute... Snipe.' - Ryoshu realized something wasn't right, so he immediately activated his skill to see further.

He could see that the man was still mumbling something that he himself wasn't quite sure about.

'What is he mumbling...?'

Ryoshu tried to look more carefully and realized what the teacher was whispering.

'3... 2...'

'1.'

He stopped whispering and opened his eyes. At the same time, the fools who underestimated this challenge appeared on the ground where teacher Kenzo was reigning.

He recognized some of those who had just said that this challenge was easier than eating porridge. But Ryoshu already knew the fate of those fools who were face to face with a king.

"Although I deeply respect what you've done for the world and Japan... but I also want to get into class A! So please allow me to defeat you, teacher!"

"Me too! I also want to get into class A!"

"With all due respect, I will fight with my full power!"

The madmen stood down there in overwhelming numbers. They quickly surrounded all four sides and eagerly awaited moment by moment to rush in for points. But they had no idea that,

Before absolute power... everyone's the same. Death is what awaits them at the end of the road.

The teacher still hadn't reacted to the mockery and teasing of those fools. Kenzo's hand instead just gently rested on the sword at his hip.

And when the battle broke out, all nearly 100 students there charged at the teacher like a storm.

Small lightning bolts rose around him. They created pleasant crackling sounds. However, the size of the lightning bolts grew larger and covered the teacher's entire body.

Kenzo's glasses flashed once before a soft sound was heard from the teacher:

"Kaminari Sword Technique, First Stance."

Lightning began to separate from his body as the sword was gradually drawn from its scabbard. His head looked up as if being shocked by his own electricity.

But in Ryoshu's eyes, the reason he did this was to look at the fate of those in front of him. And before he could take another breath,

"Flashing Tornado." - He whispered the rest of the skill.

And then in just the blink of an eye, a whirlwind full of power like the god of lightning appeared.

In an instant, hundreds of heads had separated from their bodies and flew into the air. A scene so horrific it made one want to vomit. But quickly, their bodies immediately vanished as if they had never existed.

Long sword marks like bear claws appeared on the building. They extended from one floor to another, looking like some kind of strange decoration. But it wasn't for decoration, which is why Kenzo became even more terrifying in the eyes of the children.

To the astonishment of all the surviving students, Kenzo just sheathed his sword again.

"0 points for all students who just disappeared."

Once again, the indifferent attitude, the refusal to explain anything from that terribly strong teacher only made the horror of the other students clearer. And that terror was clearly visible on their faces.

"So... only 396 students left."

Some students on the same floor as him suddenly fell to the hard cement floor. Perhaps after that display, they had become so desperate or frightened that they could no longer stand.

'Did they really die? Surely not, right? Because their bodies vanished? And what teacher would kill students???'

Ryoshu began to sweat profusely at his own thoughts. He turned to look at the faces of the other kids. Some of them were so scared that their pants were already soaked.

'I can't blame them when my legs are trembling like this...' - Ryoshu hit his quivering legs very hard.

Although it had no effect, at least he would feel like he still existed. He gradually became calm again and pulled the bowstring taut once more while still aiming toward teacher Kenzo.

Fumiya also sneaked out and somehow merged with the bow given to him by the student. But its timely help would make his bow a little stronger than all the other bows.

Another group appeared, but this time it was the Dwarves. They appeared with great caution. Although they had witnessed what had just happened, they did not become discouraged. On the contrary, they became more excited than ever.

'Is this what people often call the courage of the Dwarves? They will never give up regardless of the challenge and value honor more than their own lives.'

Ryoshu began to feel a great respect for this race that seemed crude and gruff. They reminded him of his cranky benefactor at the Black Market, Enomoto Atsuta.

They charged forward with a formation that had a proper strategy already in place. The front line used shields to defend the lines below. While the lower lines would use weapons of appropriate length, such as spears or swords.

Kenzo, instead of overwhelming them with the crazy technique just now, only began to counter the spears pointing at him. The shield line also began to advance, perhaps to corner him to create situations where he could not react in time.

That tactic worked quite effectively. But against Kenzo's defensive abilities, it was more like a child's play. The teacher hit hard into the shield of the top line.

A shock wave erupted, causing the defensive line to be unable to stand firm and only able to accept their miserable defeat.

"20 points... very good strategy. 387 people left."

The archers waiting on the floor also quickly contributed their efforts.

'Especially when the defensive line still has some people, there's no reason not to lend them a hand.' - Ryoshu, with Fumiya's help, released the arrow.

The arrow flew in a straight line to him. And not just his arrow was fired. Hundreds of other arrows appeared from all directions and pointed straight at where the teacher was standing in the midst of the Dwarves' battlefield.

But Kenzo somehow only focused on Ryoshu's arrow. He looked toward the arrow. Then teacher Kenzo sheathed his sword once more and grabbed the hilt.

"Kaminari Sword Technique, Second Stance." - He again muttered the name of his sword technique very softly.

Lightning appeared around the teacher again. But this time, it didn't feel like the first sword stance. The lightning quickly gathered at one point instead of spreading out like before. And very quickly, Ryoshu knew the name of that ultimate technique.

"Lightning Tower."

Before he could react, he felt a straight line of lightning flash past him.

The place where the lightning had just flashed was immediately split in two.

Even the glass window was cut so cleanly as if it had never been affected.

After that, Ryoshu could feel a slightly contemptuous gaze directed at him.

"Your arrow had something special about it, so I focused on it first."

Kenzo continued with a somewhat regretful smile.

"But you're quite lucky, because I originally intended to cut both at the same time, but I accidentally missed you."
