Chapter 28: Forgotten Shore: Day: 107 "The Man Who Slayed A Tyrant"
I'm starting to feel better so here is a chapter.
---------------------------------------------------------
Gunlang froze for only a moment, but that was enough to tell Keter everything he needed to know.
"What did you do to her Gunlang? And how did you rank up your Aspect without going through a nightmare?" Keter frowned but even if he was frowning he was in a decent mood, after all, he forced Gunlang into answering since Seishan wouldn't let him get away with not answering. 'Tho his Aspect... it's Supreme, the same rank Aurora's was." Keter's understanding of his flaw had reached a point where he could instantly know the Aspect rank of someone in the same rank.
Gunlang grit his teeth and looked back toward Seishan, who seemed ready to pounce and very much in need of answers. Gunlang tried hard to find a way out, be it killing them or escaping but no matter how hard he looked he couldn't find one.
The faint sound of a writing quill grew louder and yet the three couldn't perceive it. The cue embedded in their mind just wouldn't allow them to.
Gunlang's anger dissipated as he looked towards Keter. "A transcendent Memory of the fifth tier allows you to do things far beyond what you would ever believe."
This time Seishan was the first to speak up. "A Tyrant? You killed a Corrupted Tyrant?" Even Seishan was made speechless by such an absurd feet.
"What does a Corrupted Tyrant have to do with Aurora?" Keter pushed himself out of his shock quickly.
Gunlang pauses but eventually continues. "The woman known as "Aurora" no longer exists. The only thing left is the existence known as "Gunlang"."
Keter's face crunches up, having trouble comprehending what he means only after a while of silence does Keter speak.
"You replaced her. Is that why you now have [Ember of Divinity]?" Keter's own [Ember of Divinity] starts to roar at its presence.
"No, I usurped her. After all, I'm still very much me." Seishan listens silently, knowing the conversation has long passed what she understood.
"You stole her achievements then, that's how your Aspect ranked up. You must also have gained all of her attributes." The piece of the puzzle slowly came together under Keter's scrutiny. "It was a one-time use wasn't it? After all, even for a memory from a Corrupted Tyrant, this is farfetched. And that's why you chose her, a child of Night's attributes would fit well with your Aspect."
Gunlang nods. "You have your answers, now leave."
'His Aspect used only to strengthen him underwater, I bet he only has to be touching water now considering he was far stronger than he should have been.' Keter is forced out of his thoughts and Keter shakes his head.
"No, I won't leave after all I originally came here to change your mind about challenging the Spire."
"Alright give me the speech then." Gunlang for some odd reason felt like listening to the man.
"Gunlang from what I know of you, you stay here for the power correct?" Gunalng nods.
"You will have more in the waking world, a whole lot more." Gunlang looks at him suspiciously.
"No, I won't. I will be arrested and executed for the crimes I've done. There are far too many people who hate me to just let me go afterward."
"That doesn't matter, not anymore. You're a child of Night now, one of the Great Clans. And most importantly you will have both my and Seishan's support."
"Yours? And why would she listen to you?" Gunlang was confused about who this man was.
"I will support his decision wholeheartedly." Seishan's ghastly voice was something that even made Gunlang shiver.
"And I have both Clan Valor and Clan Song in my pocket. If I don't want you to be in trouble then you won't be."
Gunlang laughed, it was a laugh full of amusement and audacious surprise. "I hate that I believe you. I don't think there is anyone in the world with enough balls to lie about something like that. Especially in front of a Song heiress."
"You know what? Fine, I agree. I will start working to get out of this hell hole." A wide smile appeared on Keter's face as he shot Seishan a knowing grin.
-----
for the next few hours Gunlang, Seishan, and Keter discussed on how to best prepare for the Crimson Spire.
The very moment the deal was set the distant sound of a writing quill disappeared.
------------
Keter was happy as he walked back to his room but their was still one thing running through his mind.
"Wasn't that far too easy?"
