Michael had grabbed and teleported Tobias so fast that Tobias did not have a single clue as to what he was getting into.
So the moment they both landed on the beach, Tobias asked his father, "Father, what's the matter? Why did you bring me here?"
Michael wasn't even looking at his son when he answered, "We are going to retaliate against all the unfair treatment that we've been getting from your grandfather. And we are going to start the retaliation by ruining his ideal work of art."
Michael didn't need to say much for Tobias to understand. He knew exactly who his father was referring to.
And he was afraid that his fanatic father would do something to harm his cousin. So he hastily tried to convince his father otherwise, "Father, if we retaliate against our grandfather then he might do something drastic. What if he banishes us from the Heaven realm?"
Michael suddenly laughed. It looked as if he had some contingency plan in case things came down to that.
He looked at his son and calmly replied, "He cannot banish us when more than half of the angels are on our side. There will be a war if he tries to do anything to me. So, don't worry, son."
Michael finally turned his head to look at his distressed son. And he gave him an instruction, "On my signal, you are going to attack her. And if you can, you can even finish her."
"What are you saying, father?" Tobias widened his eyes and asked as calmly as he could.
He was now terrified to his core and in utter disbelief that his father would actually say that. He knew that his father was a little too overprotective of his position in heaven. But he had no idea to what extent.
"You know what I said," Michael replied in a very calm way. "You don't have to worry about getting punished or anything. I will handle your grandfather. And your grandmother has decided to leave us alone. So… there's nothing to be worried about."
Tobias wasn't a fool to not know what his father was doing. He was the same father's son after all. He was well aware that his father was trying to manipulate him into doing his bidding so that he himself could be safe from the possible consequences if anything didn't go as per his contingency plan.
Tobias even suspected that his father's contingency plan was to use him.
So he raised his voice just a little and asked his father, "How can you ask me to kill someone so easily? Are we even angels if we are talking about killing someone? Aren't we supposed to be good?"
Michael was irritated by his son's questioning. He narrowed his eye and said in a stern voice, "You know there's no one pure in this universe. We all do things that are necessary to keep balance. Think of this as a way of maintaining the balance and order in the Heaven realm and ultimately in the universe."
"But father–"
Tobias was about to protest some more. However, Michael instantly cut off Tobias' words and said authoritatively, "Now, let's not waste any more time here, son. I don't want any fools to stop us before we even begin."
Tobias took a step away from his father so that his father wouldn't teleport him without his consent. And he asked with haste, "What if grandfather comes down here?"
"We will think about that if and when he comes," Michael replied in an agitated tone. And he tried to hold his son's shoulder for the second time.
But Tobias dodged again and asked, "Ariel is his favorite, isn't she? He will definitely come down here if we harm a hair on her head." And he said resolutely, "I don't want to fall down to the Hell realm. Or worse, I don't want to disappear or turn into dust particles."
"Tobias!" Michael was now angry at his own son. And he growled at his son in a rage, "If you don't listen to what I am saying then it will be your mother who will turn into dust particles. So choose now! Ariel or your mother?"
Tobias clenched his fists upon hearing his father mention his mother. He had always disliked his father's this behavior. Using his mother as an expendable plaything. And a means to blackmail him into doing things for him.
When Tobias was silent, Michael gave a piercing gaze to Tobias and said, "I thought so. Now let's go and greet your cousin."
This time, Tobias didn't dodge his father's palm.
He was silent on the outside. But his mind and heart were praying for his grandfather to come and save Ariel from what was about to go down. "Please grandfather, I don't want to harm Ariel. I know you love her a lot. I like her too. But I love my mother.
So please, don't put me in this situation. I don't want to choose my mother over her. But I am going to do that if you don't stop me."
When Tobias opened his eyes, he and his father were standing in the same room as Ariel and all the others.
Tobias saw a lot of familiar faces there. All of them looked happy, which made his heart clench really badly.
Ariel was the first one to notice the presence of the guests. Her eyes fell on Tobias first.
"T–" She was about to excitedly greet her cousin but her voice died down when she noticed a man around her father's age standing next to Tobias.
Since that man shared similar hair color as Tobias, Ariel assumed that he was Tobias' father, Michael.
Instantly, a chill shiver ran down her spine and her lungs felt really cold as though she was breathing in ice.
Ariel wasn't the only one who recognized Michael.
Joyce's heart suddenly leaped inside her chest and her breathing stopped when her eyes fell on the familiar face. She could never forget the face of the man who killed her in her past life.
"Why is he here? To kill me again?"
