Chapter 771: Bizarre Incident
The moment Ariel witnessed her grandfather snapping his fingers and disappearing from before her eyes, she found herself teleported back to the meeting room that they were in before everything fell into chaos.
And not just her, everyone who was previously in the room when Michael and Tobias had appeared was back in the room.
"Er…" Zach looked at everyone with a terrified look on his face and shouted, "What the hell just happened? One second we were hiding inside god knows whose bedroom… I blinked and then I am here! We all are! What's going on?"
Joyce was the one who exclaimed next, "Kenneth hadn't fully healed! Now his wounds are non-existent!"
"And I am in my human form again! And my gown is intact!" Niylah exclaimed next.
Vlad was the one who was in the most shock. "I was in front of my father. I was trying to stop him from sending out more soldiers. And we were in the middle of the argument. How did I suddenly come here?"
He didn't want to leave his father unattended. He feared that Victoria would fill their father's ears with all the unfavorable information regarding Joyce's family.
"Er… I need to get back there!" So, without waiting to listen to how he was suddenly transported back to the room, he rushed outside.
Damien was furrowing his brows and touching his back. He felt holes in his shirt. But there weren't any wounds on him. He was damn sure that he had taken a heavy blow from Michael and had fallen to the ground.
"And I think I was unconscious," he mumbled. "Now my wounds are all healed and I am fully conscious."
Kenneth instantly spoke, "In your case, Ariel was the one who healed you." His heart ached when he recalled how he had seen Ariel mouth-feeding something to Damien.
"Ariel healed me?" Damien gave a questioning glace to Ariel. As far as he recalled, she was in no condition to use her magical power to heal him. She herself was in a bad shape. So he didn't understand how Ariel was able to heal him.
Zach looked at Ariel. She had been really quiet. So he questioned her, hoping for an answer, "Did we all have some really bizarre dream, or did we all die and come back to life again?"
Ariel abruptly sat down on the chair and heaved a deep sigh. She pinched the bridge of her nose and replied in a rather melancholic voice, "Everything that happened was real. I had fainted. And I woke up to find–"
"What? You fainted?" Damien knelt down in front of her and looked at her stomach. There wasn't a single scar there. "Then how did you heal? And how did you heal… Bloody hell!" He exclaimed when he suddenly recalled hearing her voice in his half-conscious state. "You fed something to me!"
Ariel scratched her forehead and replied, "Um, yes. Tobias had given me a healing pill before he stabbed me. He didn't attack me for real. He was just trying to pretend in front of his father."
"Pretend?" Kenneth suddenly stood beside Damien and shouted. "You call that pretending? I thought you were going to die, Ariel!"
"And so did I!" Damien also agreed with Kenneth.
Ariel took a deep breath in and then tried to calm the both of them down. "You two are worrying for no reason. I won't die that easily. I am the granddaughter of the creators of this universe, remember?"
And suddenly, Joyce chimed in, "And he who attacked you was the son of those same creators."
Damien gave a sad gaze to Joyce and told what he had actually wanted to say to her as soon as he came back to Earth, "And you, Joyce, were also the granddaughter of those creators. I confirmed it with someone I know, someone who knows you."
Everyone in the room went silent. They all gave a sad glance at Joyce. They didn't know how to react at all.
Ariel felt sorrier for Joyce thinking that God never came to save Makenzie as he came to save her. "I guess he can be unfair at times," she thought to herself.
Zach didn't like the sudden gloomy vibe in the room. Not that it wasn't already gloomy, but now, he felt as if everyone were suddenly treating Joyce as if she had died just yesterday.
So he tried to steer the conversation away from Joyce. "Um… I have been waiting to get my answer. Can I know how we all got here in the blink of an eye?"
"Oh, right!" Ariel cleared her throat and finally told what had actually gone down, "After I fainted, I heard someone's voice calling my name. And when I opened my eyes, I found my grandpa standing next to me.
My guess is, he came down here to heal me. And I think he was the one who teleported all of us here and healed everyone who was hurt. He had said that everyone will be fine. So I guess he healed everyone before he left."
"What about the soldiers?" Joyce ran towards the window to look outside. She had seen a lot of soldiers who were in worse condition. But she exclaimed in surprise, "No one is down there! Did all of the soldiers also get transported to where they were before?"
And right then, Vlad entered the room. He slammed the door close and exclaimed in shock, "Nobody remembers the incident that happened outside! Nobody except us! They don't even remember what happened in the hall in the evening!"
"What? Nobody remembers?" Joyce raised her brows at her husband.
Vlad nodded, "Yes, nobody. Not even Victoria. I thought she was simply pretending at first. But she doesn't remember for real. She doesn't remember anything that happened after the dinner ended. The King and the Queen don't remember having any conversation with me after dinner.
And I also asked a few guards and maids. They recall nothing after dinner. It's like the time reset itself or something."
Vlad looked around at everyone in the room. None of them looked as surprised as he had expected them to be. So he asked skeptically, "What? Nobody believes me?"
But instead, everyone shook their heads. And Ariel clarified, "No, we all believe you. I think it was done by my grandfather."
"Y-Your grandfather?" Vlad asked while stuttering, "Y-You mean G-God? He was also h-here?"
Ariel gave a nod. "Yes, he was here a while ago. But only I saw him. Time had stopped when he was here. So, I guess, he indeed reset the time or wiped everyone's memory after dinner or something like that."
"Whoa! Why would he do that?" Vlad asked in surprise. He wasn't complaining though. Rather, he was really grateful because all of his problems vanished just like that.
Ariel took a deep breath in and replied to the Crown Prince, "Maybe he didn't want the mortals to remember how angels could also cause mayhem. That would make them lose faith in him and all the other angels as well."
"That actually makes a lot of sense." Vlad sighed in relief. "But why do we all remember everything?"
Ariel shrugged and replied, "Maybe because we all are already deeply involved with the heavenly affairs?"
Everyone felt as if that was the best explanation they could get about today's bizarre incident.
"So, what do we do now?" Zach looked at everyone and asked, "Do we pretend like nothing happened tonight and go to sleep?"
Everyone in the room knew that it was impossible to do so.
