Chapter 513: 512: Let Bygones Be Bygones
"Do you still think you can defeat me?"
These words resounded in Corey's mind multiple times, and for a moment, Corey was lost and unable to reply.
Do you still you can defeat me?
Do you still think you can defeat me?
Do you still…
Ever since Corey became a Demi-Paragon and he broke past the Universal limits by obtaining stats in the Black Star realm, he had always had this feeling, this arrogance, this belief, and this confidence in himself that he was unique and even Mystic Beings should be wary of him.
This thought and feeling was a spark that usually went and came, but after he found a way to defeat the Capra King, obtaining its Earth Infinity Crystal, and then he also defeated Aethara who was an extremely powerful Dreadkeeper, an equivalent to a tier 5, this feeling and belief became a fiercely burning flame.
As a tier 2, he never considered any other tier 2 or tier 3 as his opponent despite their race and stats. He was a Demi-Paragon with the blood essence of the Defying Paragon in him and not just any Paragon. He had also broken the Universal limits and attained stats at the Black Star realm.
Why would he ever be fearful of a tier 2 or tier 3?
Although he wasn't completely sure, he was certain that even a tier 3 with stats at the Violet Star realm would not be stronger than him. Most likely only tier 4s with stats in the Blue Star realm or Indigo Star realm would be able to compete with him in stats.
With his stats, race, and abilities, he had even stopped seeing tier 4s as his opponents because he was certain that he could kill them given enough time and preparation.
Deep in his heart and mind, only tier 5s and above beings he should be wary of.
But standing on top of him with her nakedness exposed to the world was a Rune Sage that destroyed his belief.
Despite everything he had, he was not given the chance nor was he able to fight back or use any of his abilities.
Her punches, hits, and stabs were frighteningly powerful, and each of these caused injuries on his body that were not severe but dangerous if left without treatment.
Seeing that Corey remained silent without saying anything or doing anything, Pamela released a soft sigh and snapped her fingers.
The ground beneath her trembled, and then the earth elongated and at a fast speed, a chair made of earth was formed.
She sat on the chair with her legs crossed, and her head resting on her right fist with an indifferent and emotionless gaze in her eyes as she stared at Corey who was directly at her feet.
"I told you before, I don't want to be enemies with you… I want us to be friends… You're talented, I'm talented… Both of us are extremely talented, and there's no reason we should be enemies."
"Unfortunately, both of us want the treasure inside Zal's corpse, but that doesn't mean we have to be enemies… I won't kill you, and I'm not going to give you the treasure that's inside Zal's corpse… I'll allow you to leave with your life and legs intact, but you must promise that we won't be enemies afterwards… You'll let bygones be bygones, and I'll do the same."
Corey stared at her for a full minute without blinking or saying a word, and Pamela's expression and gaze remained the same.
Countless thoughts ran in Corey's mind as he pondered over Pamela's words.
He had been wondering why Pamela chose not to kill him, and to say he was not shocked by her words was an understatement.
Continue your adventure at empire
He thought she wanted information from him or maybe she wanted to toy with him, but he never thought that the main reason she chose not to kill him was so that they would not be enemies.
'Although I understand her, it's not like I'll hate her as much as I hate the Pope of the Temple of Flames if she kills me… But, there'd definitely be some bad blood between us if she actually kills me.'
'... What should I do?... Should I tell Chucky to complete the production of the pill I'm in my Alchemy Anvil, and then I'll use it to summon another Supreme Tribulation?'
'But my instincts are telling me not to summon another Supreme Tribulation so soon. I don't think I'll be able to survive another Supreme Tribulation.'
'Also, if I summon a Supreme Tribulation and she dies, I'd become her enemy and she would definitely try to kill me after the Battle of Chosen is over.'
'I can't be her enemy with my current strength. She's definitely stronger than Divine, and she'd kill me with ease.'
'What do I do?... Compromise?'
Blood dripped unto the floor from Corey's lips as the stars in his mind flared brightly, and another minute passed before he responded.
He tilted his head, and his pure white eyes stared straight into her infinity-marked silver eyes.
"I want the corpse then-."
"Impossible."
Pamela instantly cut him off with a nonchalant but cold tone.
"You already have the corpses of Aethara and Gunnarr. I turned their leader into a pool of blood and flesh, so Zal's corpse is all I have."
Pamela paused, and then she tilted her head to the side slightly.
"Besides, aren't you a greedy man? I killed Zal, but you still want the corpse?"
A slight cold smile appeared on Corey's lips. "Still had to try regardless."
Pamela rolled her eyes, and then she removed her head from her fist and gestured at Corey.
"By the way, I have a feeling that you have a last-resort skill that can kill both of us…"
Corey raised his brows.
"... Just know that if you use it, just make sure I die a true death…. Because if I come back to life, I'll be your worst nightmare."
When Corey heard this, he smiled slightly.
"I want a claw and finger of the draconic abomination. I'll pick the claw and finger. Do this and I'll let bygones be bygones."
