Single Wish: Rise Of The Omniscient Paragon

Chapter 653: 652: Auction (3)

"The bidding price starts at 200 million Mystic Crystals!"

"250 million Myst-!"

"400 million Mystic Cryst-!"

"500 million Mystic Crystals!"

"520 million Mystic Crystals!"

"550 million Mystic Crystals!"

Bids and spit flew right, left, up, down, and center. The Auction Hall became so loud and noisy to the point that Anon had to control what he was hearing through his Ears of Omniscience.

Anon's eyes widened in sheer disbelief at the prices he was hearing.

Although he had no idea if the amounts he was hearing were absolutely inconceivable to the universe outside of his planet, he had a feeling that the amounts were truly... Insane.

He could see the sweat pouring down the faces of most individuals on the lowest level of seats. Even some members of the middle seats had anxious expressions as they placed their bids on the Void-touched relic.

Anon glanced at the high seats, and he saw that none of them had placed a bid on the relic.

He guessed that those on the high seats were waiting for the bidding war amongst the low and middle seats to die down, then they would start a bidding war amongst themselves.

'Or it can be that none of them are actually interested in the Void-touched relic, and they're not going to place a bid on the relic.'

Anon shifted his gaze back to the hologram of the relic, and he observed it.

The void-touched relic was a jagged, asymmetrical shard of a material he had never seen before. It has a deep black color that seemed to absorbed all the light surrounding it despite it being a hologram.

However, on the relic were extremely faint streaks of dark violet, abyssal blue, and shifting silver ripple like cracks.

The material seemed to be frozen in a state between solidity and fluidity. Its edges constantly shifted, elongated, and retracted, as if it was refusing to remain in a fixed form.

After fully awakening his Void Phoenix Heart, he could see that the relic was not only affecting the space around it, it was also distorting the time around it.

The time distortion was extremely subtle, and he was not even sure if it was actually real because what he was seeing was a hologram and not the actual relic.

Anon was extremely curious about the relic because this was the first time he was encountering an item that was related to the void.

However, if he was not wrong, the power of the void on the relic was faint. In a thousand years or so, it would dissipate if left alone.

Because of this, Anon had a feeling that the price of the relic was not meant to be so high. Although, he had no idea how items related to the void were priced.

The price of the void-touched relic was now reaching close to 800 million Mystic Crystals, and Anon could see that it was only very few individuals on the middle seats that were still bidding for the relic.

To Corey's slight surprise, those on the high seats did not make a bid for the relic.

At the end of the day, the relic was purchased by the Mage Association for a sum of 837 million Mystic Crystals.

The expression on the elder of the Mage Association was one to behold as Calista finalized the payment for the void-touched relic.

Anon glanced at the individuals on the high seat as he waited for Calista to introduce the next item.

'I guess they noticed how faint the aura of the void is on the relic... Quiet surprising.'

Anon thought, and then he shifted his gaze back to Calista.

"Well, well, well, well.... I'm sure you guys have been enjoying the auction because I sure am."

Calista chuckled, and then she gestured to her right.

A hologram of a chained black and golden book with a closed mouth and pair of eyes appeared to her right.

Murmurs and whispers flew around the Auction Hall, and Corey instantly heard what everybody was saying.

'A grimoire?... No, a-'

"Some of you might already have an idea on what this book is, but I'll still say it regardless."

"It's a grimoire, but not just any grimoire, it's a Living Grimoire."

Calista took a deliberate pause, and Corey's brows rose in curiosity as he was amongst the people that wanted to hear more about the Living Grimoire.

"This Living Grimoire is a sentient, talking book with a very interesting history."

Calista paused once again with a smile, and for the first time since he entered the Auction Hall, he wanted to punch Calista in the face.

"I wouldn't bore you with history since that's not why we're here."

'Mother-' Corey.

"This Living Grimoire actual name is called The Codex of Hungering Abyss or The Codex in short, and it was created by nine Tier 9s."

Calista smiled deviously as she kept silent and observed the faces of everybody in the auction hall, starting from those at the low seats to those at the middle seats, then to those at the high seats.

The auction hall was deadly silent, and Anon was certain that the a pin drop could be heard in the Auction Hall.

Immense curiosity could be seen in Anon's eyes as he stared at Calista. This was the first time he was hearing anything about a Tier 9, and Corey was extremely interested in it.

Apart from the Paragon Ancestor, the strongest being he had ever encountered was the Throne of the Shattered Dimension. However, the Throne was equivalent to a Tier 7, an extremely powerful Tier 7.

'Just how powerful are Tier 9s? Are they a Tier or two Tiers beneath the Paragon Ancestor and the Supreme Ancestor?'

Just as Anon had this thought, Calista continued speaking, much to the relief of Anon and every other individual in the Auction Hall.

"The Codex is an ancient artifact that has the path of the nine Tier 9s that created it. The memories, techniques, skills, and knowledge of the nine Tier 9s are inside this book."

"Anybody that owns the book would have access to nine different paths that leads to Tier 9, and from what I got from the book, the ultimate goal of the Living Grimoire is to find a host that is capable of taking either one of these nine paths, or fusing these nine paths, or creating an entirely new path to the legendary Tier 10."

"The bidding price for the Codex starts at 1 Immortal Shard."

Calista smiled deviously as she crossed her arms and waited for chaos to explode in her Auction Hall.

Everybody could see the light of pleasure and satisfaction in her eyes as she stared at every single one of them like her playthings.

However, not a single one of them cared and just like she wanted, all hell broke loose.
