Chapter 668: 667: Courtesy
Corey watched as Savage severed his scythe-like arm without hesitation. He inwardly applauded Savage for his quick thinking, decisiveness, and ruthlessness.
If he had not severed his arm, hos Dreamfire would have used his spiritual energy and contracted spirits as fuel to keep on burning.
Bang!
Crack
The floor cracked as Corey dashed towards Savage with an extremely focused and cold expression.
Slithering shadows crept up Savage's severed arm, and in less than a fraction of a second, Savage had another arm.
Without waiting for Corey to appear before him like the last time, he slashed his claws at Corey, and ten claw-like slashes appeared before Corey.
The speed and power behind the attack sent a shiver down Corey's spine, and he knew that if he was not careful, the attack could kill him.
He could try to unleash a massive fist of Dreamfire but that would be a waste of his Dream Energy and Spiritual Energy.
He could also try to dodge the slashes, but why should he waste his energy and time doing such a thing when he could just teleport to the other side of the attack.
Just as the claw-like slashes were centimeters from touching Corey's body, he suddenly vanished, and Savage snapped to his back in shock.
Such an expression was a sight to behold for Corey because ever since Savage transformed, his expression was one of indifference and dominance as he stared down at Corey like a bug.
Corey knew exactly why Savage was extremely shocked and in disbelief, and if he was in Savage's shoes, he would also have a similar expression.
The reward for advancing to Tier 5 is the ability to manipulate Space, and the reward for advancing to Tier 6 is the ability to manipulate Time.
In his current state, Savage could forcefully use his powers and strength to control the forces of time to a certain degree. And as a natural Tier 5, he could also manipulate space.
The claw-like slashes he unleased were not just pure energy attacks. The slashes sealed the space around it in a 200m radius, and even time was distorted in the zone of the claw-like slashes.
Abilities like Teleportation or movement techniques that utilize the manipulation of space could not work in a radius of 200m, however, Corey was able to teleport away from his attack even when the attack was mere centimeters from touching his skin.
Savage was in full disbelief, and when Corey saw his expression, he almost took the opportunity to launch an attack.
However, his instincts and Eyes of True Judgement warned him against.
A vision flashed in his eyes, and without hesitation, he moved to the back.
The shock on Savage's face was replied with the previous expression of indifference and dominance as he stared at Corey's departing figure.
In the next second, Corey saw that the vision he saw and his decision to widen the distance between him and Savage was the right one.
A ring of countless screaming, crying, laughing, and moaning spirits appeared behind Savage, and the moment the ring appeared, silhouettes of countless spirits of different shapes and sizes appeared all around Corey and Savage, and Corey's spine tingled when he saw the silhouettes of countless spirits.
Although he was just seeing silhouettes that could not attack him or affect the physical realm, the hair on Corey's body straightened as he felt a terrifying power from some spirit silhouettes.
The power he felt made it seem like the Power he faced in the Shattered Dimension of the Old Ones was a child before these silhouettes.
'It's just like I saw in the paths shown to me by my Eyes of True Judgement.'
Corey frowned as he kept on widening the distance between him and Savage.
The ring behind Savage spun at a speed that was like a blur in Corey's eyes, and the sounds coming from the ring increased greatly.
Corey glanced at his surroundings, and his body passed through a silhouette of a spirit but nothing happened to him or the silhouette.
He looked back at Savage, but the moment he did, multiple pale white hands appeared in front of his face.
The speed of the hands was way too fast for Corey to react to, however, Corey had an utterly calm expression as he stared at the pale white hands that were an inch from touching his face.
BOOOM!!
Just as the pale white hands were about to touch his face, a massive explosion resounded around Corey, and the pale white hands that were about to touch him turned into ash.
Corey coughed a little, and in the next moment, his body swayed and he dashed towards Savage without giving him a moment's rest.
Although he had detonated the energy stored in his Hexagon Nova Shield to protect himself from the hands, the energy that was stored in his Hexagon Nova Shield was too little to cause any significant harm to Savage.
Corey appeared in front of Savage, and without waiting for a single second, he unleashed a punch that was filled with Dreamfire.
The shadows that had filled the room rose and formed a large circular shield that covered Savage from up to down.
Screams echoed from the shield made of shadows and a thick black smoke rose up from the shield as it got smaller.
Savage's expression remained unchanged, and when Corey's attack dissipated, he dismissed the shield.
When he dismissed the shield, he saw Corey standing in the same position and Savage narrowed his eyes.
Corey said nothing and unleashed the same punch at Savage. Savage was about to produce another shield, but then his expression changed as his instincts screamed at him.
Without hesitation, he swung his arm to his back and produced a shield to his back.
Two punches that contained Dreamfire approached Savage from his front and back, and Savage ignored the Dreamfire punch that was in front of him.
The two attacks landed on Savage but the Dreamfire punch that he saw first disappeared like an illusion, meanwhile, the other Dreamfire punch slammed into his shield and screams of pain echoed from his shield.
Savage frowned deeply, but before he could think about the illusion ability of Corey, he coughed out mouthful of black blood.
Savage covered his mouth, and then he looked at the blood on his hands.
A much deeper frown along with confusion appeared on his face as he stared at his blood. He was about to shift his attention from the blood to Corey, but then he saw something move inside the blood.
He narrowed his eyes, and then he saw it.
No
He saw them.
The strangest insects he had ever seen, and the moment he saw the insects, a chill crawled up his spine.
"Do you like them? They're called Maledro's Gu. Courtesy of my late Master."
