Chapter 21: An Invitation

Cough! Cough!

Enzo coughed twice at being called amazing by Rosa.

"You're overestimating me," he said with a wry smile.

"No, really you're really amazing. Even if I go around Vera now, I probably won't meet anyone else with the same achievements as you," Rosa replied.

She praised without holding back so Enzo found it difficult to refute her.

When the two of them walked out of the door, their path was suddenly blocked by someone.

He was a man who seemed to be in his 30s, having a neat appearance with a black suit and formal pants.

At first glance, he looked like an office worker who had just gotten off work, but Enzo vaguely felt the power of that man.

He seemed to have deliberately revealed his identity as an Awakener to him and Rosa.

"Who are you?" Rosa asked warily.

It was unlike her usual behavior where she was full of friendliness. When meeting a suspicious stranger, she instantly looked very serious.

"Don't worry, Miss Rosa, I haven't come to bother you and Enzo," the man replied in a soft voice.

He apparently knew their names.

After answering Rosa's question, he looked at Enzo.

"Enzo Moonvale, first I would like to congratulate you on your awakening. I won't introduce myself, you can think of me as someone passing by. I just wanted to give you an invitation," he said and handed a small black invitation to Enzo.

After that, he walked away, getting into a car that immediately sped off, not giving Enzo a chance to chase after him.

He also had no desire to chase after him. His focus was on the black invitation.

It was certainly not some kind of party or wedding invitation. At first glance, it was more similar to a work invitation.

(Enzo Moonvale, we invite you to join the Dark Star Palace, call the number below if you are interested!)

The words were written on the invitation.

"Dark Star Palace..." Rosa looked surprised.

Enzo actually knew what that organization was. They had such a big name that even ordinary people knew them.

The organization was similar to the Primordial Association but smaller in size.

Their influence was also only limited to a few States in the United States, unlike the Primordial Association which was basically spread all over the world.

That was because they were created by the government while the Dark Star Palace was an organization created by a powerful Awakener himself.

Around the world, there are many organizations like this.

They usually provided training and assistance to their members to develop better.

It was not forbidden as all of them were still affiliated with the Primordial Association.

It was just that this Dark Star Palace was a little different.

They had a special ambition, which was to rule the government, believing that powerful people like them should rule the country.

And they really do try everything they can to gain power, often carrying out attacks on high-ranking officials so much so that they are labeled as terrorists.

Most of their members hide their identities but their footprints can always be seen.

Enzo wouldn't be surprised if he was invited by another organization, but this organization, he wasn't sure how to react, wondering why they invited him.

'Or do they believe someone from the lower class like me likes their views?'

"Enzo, you wouldn't try to join this organization, would you? They're so evil, my father once said that their leader is a crazed psychopath who dreams of controlling the whole world. They kill and rob ordinary people too often." Rosa suddenly spoke in a worried tone, looking very worried that he would choose the wrong path.

"No, I won't join them..." Enzo shook his head and threw the invitation into the trash.

He wasn't interested in any organization, he just wanted to develop on his own without getting involved with many people.

Of course, throwing away the invitation didn't make him forget the phone number written on it.

A quick glance was enough to make him remember clearly.

"Let's go," he said with a faint smile.

Rosa finally seemed to calm down as he threw away the invitation. She glanced at the trash can for a moment before following him.

They got back into the car.

"Enzo, who was that guy?" asked James when they had just gotten into the car.

He and Owen were obviously aware but unfortunately the man left too soon.

"Someone from the Dark Star Palace invited me to join," Enzo replied.

"What?" Both of them were instantly dumbfounded.

Even James who was driving couldn't help but stare back.

"Then what did you say?" he asked.

"Of course, I refused," Enzo replied.

"Hahaha, that's good. That organization is very dangerous and we don't know what bad things could happen if you join them," James said, letting out a sigh of relief.

He already considered him a good friend, he naturally didn't want him to get involved with anything strange.

If that happened, he would be forced to stay away from her and it was not beneficial for him because being friends with someone with potential like her was very beneficial.

"But, why did that organization invite you, Enzo?" asked Owen, looking thoughtful.

Enzo shook his head, indicating that he didn't know.

"Do they already know so much about you? After all, you only became an Awakener today. Except for us, no one knows how extraordinary your abilities are. They wouldn't have invited you if they didn't know anything, but it seems impossible for them to already know."

As a more reserved man, Owen was definitely the type who would take things more seriously.

He tried to guess what made the organization invite Enzo.

The latter was also thinking but could not really speculate because his knowledge of the Awakeners was not much.

"Unless someone in that organization is connected to you," Owen added suddenly after a moment of thought.

"What? Who?" Enzo was so surprised to hear that that he himself spontaneously asked who was connected to him.

His life was not connected to many people, only Ruby and Alex. Although they had close relatives, but they were not really close to them, just knowing without ever getting together.

Naturally, he was confused when it was said that someone from the Dark Star Palace was connected to him.

"That makes sense..." James also spoke.

"A large organization would probably invite someone no matter what they look like as long as they are connected to their influential members," he said.
