Chapter 35: The Pay
"Miss, the Star Spirit is quite expensive and hard to come by, you can't just give it to someone else. The Star Spirit in his hand is a package deal with this city," Lucia said when Rosa had just said the Star Spirit was not something she would take.
She protested, but this time, Rosa actually acted like she hadn't heard her.
Not only did she not respond, her eyes also just kept staring at Enzo.
She blinked a few times.
"Let's talk about the price of this city," she said.
Lucia looked dumbfounded at being ignored. A look of disbelief was painted on her face.
Since that was what Rosa wanted, Enzo followed suit.
"I'm sure you'll give me a good price, but I'd rather you give me treasure," he said.
"That's for sure, I have a list here, you can choose one of them," Rosa replied before taking out a paper magazine from her Dimensional Artifacts.
She then handed it to him where he saw a list of ten items that each had a picture and description.
The list contained treasures whose value was above that of the treasures he had selected in Primordial Red Moon.
The first on the list was a mini-spear that was only the size of an index finger and even looked very ordinary, a white color that was somewhat transparent.
Just by looking at the picture, he felt like skipping the description, but he forced himself to read it anyway.
(Phantom Spear; is an artifact capable of doubling your spear into ten spears of exactly the same quality and strength. You simply attach it to your spear to use it!)
"Really?" He was taken aback when he read that description.
One would probably question the usefulness of an artifact like this since they couldn't use ten spears at once unless they were just going to throw it.
However, as someone who used the spear as the main attacker since it was the deadliest with its control over any kind of metal, doubling his spear to ten would naturally make him have ten deadly tools.
He did not have to look for another spear to increase his spear, moreover the price of weapons at higher levels was very expensive.
'I guess I just want this,' he thought.
Even he did not hesitate in choosing and looking at the other items was nothing more than a way to ascertain if there was anything more useful for him.
However, although there were more impressive artifacts, the Phantom Spear was still the one he wanted the most.
"Rosa, I want this spear," he said to the young woman in front of him who was just confused because he suddenly said the word really.
She then looked at the image of the spear and smiled.
"I just heard that you control a spear when you fight. Right, this is indeed the best choice for you. If you find a stronger spear, that means you will have a spear like that," she said.
If she didn't know about his ability to control a spear, she would probably question his choice.
Enzo chuckled softly, not trying to say anything to keep Rosa from asking more questions.
She should also know how he controlled the Siphon Grasp when he fought with the zombie in the courtyard of the city lord's castle.
"I'll be back in a moment to get it, wait here," the woman continued before summoning her portal and stepping into it.
With her gone, only Lucia was left in front of him.
The woman was already seated and Enzo couldn't help but stare at her.
"Boy, I heard you were from the Dragon District," she said suddenly.
"Yes, is there anything Lady Lucia?" asked Enzo in response.
When she spoke to him, he naturally couldn't pretend not to hear.
"That is the worst place there is in Vera. I don't know a single woman or man from there unless they are prostitutes, swindlers, gangsters, and robbers," the woman replied.
Enzo couldn't help but part his lips with an almost frozen expression.
The woman's words sounded seemingly harsh, but this was actually close to the truth.
Although not all residents of the Dragon District were bad, unfortunately almost all of his acquaintances were like that.
Of course, it was natural that outsiders only knew such people from the Dragon District.
With such experience, it couldn't be considered wrong for Lucia to judge him with prejudice.
Even he had some difficulty thinking of words to reply.
After a moment of silence, he said, "Lady Lucia, the way you look at me is not wrong..."
When he said that, he even smiled slightly.
He did not want to bother saying anything complicated, just saying that she was not wrong.
Don't women usually just want to hear that?
Sure enough, after hearing his reply, Lucia froze, obviously she had originally hoped he would protest so that she could scold him.
Unfortunately, that failed now.
