The Tower of Demons.

A mysterious entity or anomaly that appeared decades ago. A tall, monolithic spire of dark and ominous-looking blackstone. It's polished surface gave away a haunted look and an otherworldly aura. It's peak vanished into the clouds, giving the impression of impossible height.

It first appeared in the center of the world, terrifying the citizens of Earth. At first, it seemed harmless. People were naturally intrigued and of course some were scared about their fates. But nobody dared to even go near it, and the government blocked the area off.

They tried to stop the people from panicking by justifying it as an ancient structure that was under the ground and was built by people a long time ago. It naturally rised due to an earthquake that occurred in the area it was buried in.

Though some didn't believe it, citizens started to calm down and the United Nations was finally going to start investigating it.

But then, the first mirage gate appeared.

Out of thin air, a glowing portal-like circular rift opened up. From it, appeared gnarly and terrifying beasts. Horrifying creatures that were only described in fairy tales. With huge fangs, mouths dripping with saliva, and overwhelming bloodlust. It was like a fantasy novel had come to reality.

Trolls, ogres and many other monsters came out of the portal. At once, they attacked, ravaging the country the Tower appeared in. Soon enough, the monsters reproduced and doubled in numbers, and finally the monsters that could traverse seas appeared. With them, the creatures spread all across the world, devastating every single thing they came across.

The government tried to retaliate, but in vain.

Then, a glimmer of hope appeared. The Six Lineages. Groups of families that received extraordinary and growable supernatural powers with the help of yet another anonymous entity called the Cain System.

With their newly found powers, they drived off the monsters all the way back to the tower and even entered the sinister spire. They formed specific teams and investigated the insides of the tower. Here was what they had found:

[ The Demonic Tower]

The Demonic Tower contains 1000 floors. Each floor contains a safe zone, where monsters cannot appear and normal civilizations can be built. But the majority of the floor, consists of a Demon Progenitor's territory.

Demon Progenitors are basically denon kings who each rule over a floor of the Demonic Tower. To get to the next floor of the Demonic Tower, you must defeat and kill the Demon Progenitor and all other demons present in the floor. Then only the gate to the next floor will open.

But why even climb and risk your lives at all? The reason is Mirage Gates.

[ Mirage Gates ]

Mirage gates are gates that spawn in the Demon Progenitor's territory.

Once a floor of the Tower has been unlocked, you must defeat and kill the progenitor of the floor within 10 days. If not, the progenitor will reach an awakened and more powerful state, and a portal to earth will spawn in his domain, enabling him to travel to earth.

The progenitor then could take the lives of thousands of people, before it could be subjugated.

A mirage gate has appeared only twice during the history of humanity, the latter being minor unlike the first which took the lives of hundreds of millions of people around the world.

They found out that they had only cleared the 1st floor of the Demonic Tower and there were 999 more floors left.

The lineages also laid the following contents:

[ The Seed of Awakening ]

A seed that lays dormant in one's soul. Once they sprout, a person has to fulfill a specific condition and then turns into an Awakened.

Though these seeds have the potential to sprout in normal people, they have a higher chance of sprouting in the bloodline of the six lineages. After sprouting, to become an Awakened, the condition to be fulfilled to become an awakened appears. Also, the seeds could sprout at an age as early as 5 years old or even as later as 30 years old.

To be put simply, everybody has the seed of awakening inside them. The seed has the possibility to sprout, and then the condition to be fulfilled appears, and then after it's cleared, the person becomes an Awakened.

[ The Awakened ]

The Awakened are people who have fully unlocked their powers and received acess to the cain system. Every awakened can enter the tower of demons, non-awakened people unable to do so.

These people mostly came from the lineages. While some that didn't have the bloodline of the lineages have also started to appear in large amounts.

[ The Six Great Guilds ]

A guild is an organisation of a group of awakened individuals.

The six great guilds, or the S.G.G for short, are the six big guilds formed by the lineages, each guild managed by one lineage.

After the World had recovered, the groups of families entered politics and claimed the world. As they had saved the lives of billions, everybody supported the families. The six lineages then all claimed a part of the world, named it by their family's names and humanity's borders were redrawn. This was now the new World Order:

- North America: Montmorency Lineage

- Europe: Heiselberg Lineage

- Africa: Mandela Lineage

- Middle East: Iqbal Lineage

- Russia/Asia: Yarkiy Lineage

- India: Yadav Lineage.

The Lineages then dedicated themselves to clearing the Tower, for the good of mankind.

And now, comes the story of a young 11 year-old Aster, an orphan living in Kizuna Orphanage, who had only ever dreamt about escaping the orphanage.

But, it seemed fate had other plans for him..
