Chapter 8: Part 7:
Christopher leans closer to the screen, the glow reflecting in his tired eyes. He clicks a few keys, his fingers flying over the keyboard with practiced ease. The rhythmic tapping is momentarily broken by a deep sigh. He closes his eyes briefly, rubbing the tension from his temples. For just a second, the world behind his eyelids dissolves into a chaotic swirl of color. When he opens them again, his familiar office is gone. Gone are the comforting hum of the server room, the flickering fluorescent lights, the framed picture of Christine and his son. Replaced by… a monstrous three-headed bird, each head crackling with a different element: Electricity, Water, and Fire. The ground trembles beneath him, the air thick with the smell of ozone and sulfur.
Christopher: *He stumbles back, heart pounding in his chest. He stares in disbelief at the monstrous creature, his mind struggling to comprehend the impossible scene before him.* What… what the…
A voice cuts through the roaring flames and crackling electricity. An unfamiliar hunter nudges Jin-Woo's shoulder, his voice laced with both awe and a hint of fear. Christopher, trapped in Jin-Woo's body, feels the contact but can't process it. He's overwhelmed, the sheer impossibility of it all threatening to shatter his sanity. Hunter Sung, are you only going to stand there counting teeth? One of the hunters asked. Christopher, wants to respond, to scream, to do anything other than stand frozen like a statue. But his vocal cords refuse to cooperate.
He tries to move, to raise his hand, but his body feels foreign, heavy. He looks down, expecting to see his own hands, but instead, he sees Jin-Woo's strong, calloused fingers. It's a dream, a vivid, terrifyingly real dream.
Christopher: *He struggles against the paralysis gripping him. The bird lets out an earsplitting screech, its multiple heads weaving back and forth, searching for an opening to attack.* (Internally) This can't be real. This… this is insane.
The hunters around him shift nervously, their weapons raised, waiting for Jin-Woo's command. But Christopher is lost in a whirlwind of confusion and terror, trapped in the body of his hero, facing a monster straight out of a nightmare.
Christopher: *He takes a shaky breath, forcing himself to focus. He needs to do something, anything, to break free from this paralysis. He thinks of Monja, of the life he's building with her, a life that now seems impossibly distant. The thought sparks a flicker of defiance within him.* (Internally) Monja… I will get back to you!
