Chapter 575: Hidden Dragon in the Abyss (Part 2)
Within the quiet chamber, heat surged.
The scorching air stemmed from the Creation Cauldron placed right in the center, and the work of crafting the magical treasure had continued for three full days and nights, showing no signs of ending just yet.
This was a normal occurrence.
A tier-three Magical Treasure, compared to a tier-two Spiritual Artifact, fundamentally differed as heaven does from earth, and crafting a Spiritual Artifact already required several days; it goes without saying for a Magical Treasure.
Even for a Refinement Master, it could take several months or even a year or two.
But the Creation Cauldron had mysteries of its own!
Wang Chen also sat beside this precious cauldron, having been in meditation for three days and nights.
Over these past days, he hadn't been idling away – every so often, he needed to cast Spirit Stones into the cauldron.
Infusing mana.
Spirit Stones served as the "fuel" to keep the Spiritual Fire burning within the cauldron; once the Spiritual Power was completely drained, a furnace full of priceless heavenly and earthly treasures would have to be discarded entirely.
The loss would be immeasurable.
And the Spirit Stones required for crafting a Lifebound Magic Treasure had to be at least of the Middle Spirit grade.
Upper Spirit was best.
Wang Chen had a considerable amount of Middle Spirit, but he was sorely lacking in Upper Spirit.
To make up for the deficiency, he had no choice but to increase his input.
By now, he had already tossed nearly a third of his reserve of Spirit Stones into it.
But at this stage, he had to grit his teeth and keep going!
Besides Spirit Stones, Wang Chen's own mana also played an important role in the refining process.
On one hand, it empowered the cauldron to enhance its refining capabilities, and on the other, it allowed Wang Chen to establish a subtle connection with the embryonic state of his Lifebound Magic Treasure, aligning auras and linking Divine Souls, greatly increasing the success rate.
Concerning the quality of his Lifebound Magic Treasure, Wang Chen would persevere through any hardship!
Throughout the three days, in addition to continuously giving, Wang Chen also grasped some of the mysteries of the Creation Cauldron during the crafting process.
His understanding of this precious cauldron also kept strengthening.
Thus Wang Chen was able to "see" the Flying Sword within the cauldron slowly taking shape.
It was like a fetus in the womb growing limbs and a head, exuding a hint of spirituality, easily stirring his heartstrings.
This feeling was profoundly mysterious, difficult to describe in words.
But incredibly marvelous!
Time silently slipped by, and Wang Chen was so immersed in it that he couldn't extricate himself. Continue reading at My Virtual Library Empire
Although the true control over the Creation Cauldron in crafting the Flying Sword lay with the Artifact Spirit Cauldron, he played a part in fueling and adding materials; indispensable, yet not the main director.
However, as the master of the Creation Cauldron, while Wang Chen "sold his labour," he could also observe and analyze the birth process of the Magical Treasure from a higher perspective.
His gains were tremendous!
Another three days passed by, and the reserve of Spirit Stones in Wang Chen's Sumeru Ring had dwindled to a perilous level.
Starting from the fourth day of crafting the Magical Treasure, the Creation Cauldron's demand for Spirit Stones suddenly increased, forcing Wang Chen to invest even more reserves to maintain the undying Spiritual Fire.
However, his efforts were not wasted.
Today was the seventh day, also the most critical one!
"Master."
As Wang Chen sat cross-legged beside the cauldron, his eyes suddenly opened upon hearing the voice of Ding in his Sea of Consciousness, "The time has come."
With an extend of his hand, the lid of the Creation Cauldron automatically lifted, and a stream of intensely hot air burst forth!
In the next moment, Wang Chen brought out the current Spirit Sword he wielded—the Red Nether Flying Sword.
He swept his hand across the sword edge, and his remarkably tough skin was forcibly slashed open with a long gash.
Crimson blood flowed out, smearing over the gleaming blade!
"Go!"
Wang Chen uttered tersely.
This Spirit Sword, which had accompanied Wang Chen for a not insignificant period and fought alongside him, trembled once before plunging into the cauldron before him.
Immediately afterward, another Spirit Sword—the Glowing Light Sword—was also cast by Wang Chen into the Creation Cauldron.
These two valuable Spirit Swords were merely sacrifices!
Bang!
The lid of the cauldron fell with a perfect fit, and Wang Chen extended his right palm to press upon the scalding surface, his robust mana pumping in continuously.
At this moment, the Red Nether Sword and Glowing Light Sword that had just been tossed into the cauldron had already melted under the cauldron's extreme heat, their materials completely dissolved, and all the innate spirituality absorbed by the newly-formed Dragon Abyss Sword.
They had become nourishment for the latter!
Actually, the two Flying Swords were not indispensable; omitting the step of sacrificing the swords wouldn't affect the quality of the Dragon Abyss Sword.
But their sacrifice was meaningful!
Both the Red Nether Sword and the Glowing Light Sword had been constantly at Wang Chen's side, receiving his long-term nurturing and refinement, their essences fused, and souls connected. Hence, offering them to the Dragon Abyss Sword greatly facilitated Wang Chen's future control over this Magical Treasure.
It should be known that Wang Chen was currently only a Middle Spirit in the Purple Mansion tier, and the Dragon Abyss Sword, once refined, would at least be a mid-tier Magical Treasure.
Even an upper-tier was possible!
This presented a control issue: the Magical Treasure's tier was higher than Wang Chen's, making it naturally extremely difficult to wield.
Now, with the sacrifice of these two Spirit Swords, that problem was mostly solved!
Yet, a new problem surfaced.
Wang Chen found that his mana supply could not keep up with the demands of the Creation Cauldron at this time.
The treasure cauldron was like a starved Gluttonous Beast, greedily drawing his power while burning Spirit Stones.
Supplying the Dragon Abyss Sword that was in the midst of condensation.
The Flying Sword was enveloped in a halo of colorful Spiritual Light and had already taken on a complete form!
Wang Chen was keenly aware that this was the most critical moment.
Whether his Lifebound Magic Treasure could be successfully refined hinged on this last step!
The trouble was that Wang Chen's mana within was nearing depletion, and the speed of extracting and refining from the Heaven-Ensnaring Punisher Net for replenishment was already falling behind the cauldron's consumption.
His mind whirled, and he immediately urged the Heaven-Ensnaring Punisher Net, directly drawing the nature's spiritual energy within into the body of the cauldron.
Sparing the transformation step.
The result was unexpectedly effective!
The Spiritual Power from the Demon-Slaying Net poured into the Creation Cauldron mightily, all being accommodated and absorbed by the latter.
The Sword Light of the Dragon Abyss Sword grew brilliantly bright.
Boom!
Inside the quiet room, a thunderous noise erupted as the heavy lid of the cauldron suddenly flew upward, and a Magical Treasure Sword, resplendent with treasure light, surged out of the cauldron with a large amount of smoke—seeming as if it might flee away!
This was the natural instinct of the nascent spirituality within the sword.
Wang Chen was well-prepared for this; he immediately formed a sword sign with his hands and executed the Sword Control Technique to take command of the newly-forged Dragon Abyss Sword.
His Sword Control Technique, having been cultivated to the level of Great Perfection, effortlessly seized control over the tier-three Flying Sword with his Middle Spirit Purple Mansion cultivation level, immobilizing it completely.
Wang Chen's heart lifted with joy as he executed the "Retrieve" gesture, drawing it into his hand!
With the sword in hand, Wang Chen felt a surge of sharpness assault him, almost as if his brow were being scraped by a blade.
The controlled Dragon Abyss Sword trembled and whined, seemingly reluctant to be constrained.
But as Wang Chen's mana infused it, its gentle resistance slowly weakened.
Until it disappeared completely.
"Congratulations, Master, on the successful sword casting!"
It was the voice of Ding.
