Chapter 510: The Brave Little Deer Charges Ahead
Suming had no time for such a process, and even if he had the patience to train each animal over several years, it was likely that eighty percent would fail the verification.
"Mr. Su, if you insist on doing this, we as outsiders cannot forcibly stop you. However, we will stay in Yangchuan City for a while, collecting various data after the release into the wild."
A university professor with the same academic standing as Professor Chu said solemnly, "Mass releases are a good thing, and small-scale failures and deaths can even be tolerated; but if the failure data exceeds a certain percentage, we will petition the government for an administrative order to terminate the release and even initiate accountability. What do you all think?"
"Yes, Mr. Su, although we cannot interfere with the work of your zoo, we are all engaged in animal research and protection, and we cannot stand by and watch masses of animals that should be protected die."
The other experts nodded in agreement with the professor's opinion.
Looking at their expressions, they had already concluded that the release would inevitably fail. With faces full of gloom and despondency, they looked at Suming with an attitude of regretful chiding, as if lamenting his unfulfilled potential.
In their eyes, Suming must have been a young man intoxicated by sudden fame and honors, wanting to make another sensational move through a grand release.
Suming understood their feelings. If the roles were reversed, he would have the same thoughts. Releasing hundreds of animals at once would seem like a spectacle to laypeople and sheer nonsense to experts.

"Ladies and gentlemen of the expert group, you're welcome to stay in Yangchuan City for this purpose. I hope this release will provide some experience for future animal research," Suming said with a smile, without explaining or arguing.
The advantage of superpowers lies in the fact that as long as you don't reveal them, others can break their heads and still would not discern the reasons. If the release is successful, these educated intellectuals would try to explain it from a scientific perspective.
After a busy week, the zoo's release work finally officially began.
At the edge of the back mountain, a hundred meters below the slope where Ancient Moon Xian Residence was located, there was an open area several acres in size.
"Dear viewers, this is Yangchuan City TV Station, and I am reporting live on the release at Yangchuan City Zoo. It is said that the scale of this release by Yangchuan City Zoo is the largest since the founding of the nation, involving experts from several agricultural universities and the provincial agricultural academy..."
The camera then switched to show a row of elderly experts.
Their faces were ashen, and if it weren't for the camera, these old experts would simply want to burst out in profanity!
The host's words were reserved, as the release was not only the largest since the founding of the nation but also arguably the largest in the history of the world's zoos.
Not far away, in over a hundred cages of various sizes, more than nine hundred animals of different species were enclosed.
The experts had known about the large number of releases before, but no one expected them to take place at the same time and location!
What was previously seen as foolery had now become utterly fantastical. What difference was there between such a heedless release and the indiscriminate animal release practices of so-called good men and devout women?
The experts were fuming and did not give the camera or Suming a good face.
Also present was a large crowd of zoo visitors who, hearing the news, had rushed from all over the park to watch the excitement.
Consequently, Suming made another decision that shocked everyone. He ordered the security guards not to stop these visitors. All of them were allowed to get close to the cages and interact with the animals.
Experts see issues from a professional perspective, while these non-professional visitors rely on their own intuitive feelings.
"Daddy, look, that little deer is nodding at me!" the little girl in the floral dress said excitedly as she leaned on the cage.
"That's because it knows you're giving it freedom. That's why the little deer is so thankful to you," the father said with a smile, rubbing his daughter's head and spinning a kind-hearted lie. As an adult, he was, of course, very aware that the little deer couldn't possibly know what was about to happen, let alone thank his daughter for it.
"Mmhm!" the little girl nodded vigorously, holding a long leaf and passing it through the bars of the cage to the little deer's mouth, "Little deer, little deer, I also really hate being locked up in a room all the time. Don't worry, eat something first, and you will be able to come out soon."
The little deer in the cage didn't go for the leaf but rather seemed to understand the little girl's words, curling its limbs and lying down submissively, bringing its head close to the edge of the cage and touching the little girl's hand with its antlers.
Scenes like this were almost simultaneously unfolding in front of each cage.
Those animals, which were usually of various temperaments, were now exceptionally quiet. Not a single one made any shrieking or roaring sounds, and they didn't even show a sliver of fear, just quietly staying in their cages, silent, waiting.
"Dear audience friends, those of you not on the scene may not be able to feel the atmosphere, but being here, I'm suddenly a bit moved, as though I'm about to witness the rebirth of hundreds of lives," the TV station host said slowly in a melodramatic tone.
In silence, Suming's voice came through the loudspeaker, "The wild release will now begin. Dear visitors, please open the bolts on the cages next to you, and let these animals return to the embrace of nature."
Letting ordinary visitors conduct the release... Experts rolled their eyes to the heavens, having grown numb to Suming's unconventional methods.
Only then did the visitors notice that none of the cages were locked; they were merely secured with a bolt that could easily be flipped open.
There was a brief silence throughout the venue, and the visitors hesitated. Should they do as Suming had said? Even though there were no tigers or lions in the cages, no one could guarantee absolute safety. Foxes, eagles, even deers with antlers—any of these animals could potentially cause minor or major injuries if they were to go berserk.
"Click!"
A light sound rang out, clearly audible in the silence; the little girl in the floral dress had already lifted the bolt.
The little deer tentatively raised its antler-crowned head, nudging the cage.
The cage creaked open.
"Be careful, be careful..." the father watched warily, eyeing the 'little deer' that was bigger than his little girl.
The little deer stepped out of the cage, looking around in bewilderment.
"Little deer, don't be scared; we won't hurt you," the little girl, not afraid at all of the little deer, slipped out from behind her father and stretched out her hand with a giggling smile to touch the little deer's head.
The little deer tilted its head and rubbed its neck against the little girl's face a few times, but then stood still, seemingly unsure of what to do next.
The little girl pointed towards the distant mountains and forest, saying earnestly, "Little deer, go on, go back to nature!" Then she gently patted the little deer's bottom.
Braving itself, the little deer took strides toward the back mountain, looking back at the little girl every few steps.
"Don't be scared! Be brave! Charge!" The little girl cupped her hands around her mouth to form a megaphone, and said to the little deer in her childish voice, dead serious.
Under the gaze of the crowd, the little deer let out a soft deer call and broke into a run towards the back mountain.
