Chapter 4 - The Contract
Episode 4_
The Contract
It was purely by chance that Choi Hae-na discovered Yeo Woo-jun.
She stopped by a festival near Yeo-Jun’s orphanage. In fact, she didn’t go there to enjoy the festival, but to watch people.
(You took a vacation again and went street casting?)
“huh.”
(Why are you working so hard while leaving the existing rookie development team behind? Why don’t you take a break?)
“I’m taking a break from this.”
Perhaps because she still had the passion to seek out talent even on her days off, Choi Hae-na was a capable person who took the position of the youngest female executive at Legacy.
Most of the artists born from her hands are well-known in South Korea.
Choi Hae-na was talking on the phone with her friend and coworker.
(So, did you find a good one?)
“I did find a few, but… these days, there aren’t many kids who want to become celebrities. The parents don’t seem to be particularly welcoming of them either.”
(Actually, I heard that guys with good looks prefer streamers or SNS influencers.)
“therefore.”
I saw a few good gems and gave them my business card, but they didn’t turn out very well. The supply of talented people has dried up these days.
There were people who saw Choi Hae-na’s name and thought she was a famous producer, but it was uncertain whether they would contact her.
“Why would a tire burst?”
(Yeah. I guess today is your unlucky day. Go home early and rest.)
“That’s right. The insurance company should come quickly.”
On the way home, my car broke down and I had to park nearby. Is today really a bad day? As it happened, I saw children coming home from elementary school across the street.
Choi Hae-na observed the children just in case. Then, a group of children were making a lot of noise surrounding one child.
“Kids these days are scary.”
(Why, did you see anything?)
“Did you witness real-time school violence? Oh, wait a minute.”
What did I see? Choi Hae-na rubbed her eyes. It wasn’t an illusion.
“… Go Seung-geon.”
(Why is your voice like that? What’s wrong?)
There was a boy who stood out in a group of children. Even from a distance, his facial features were recognizable. He was a little taller than his peers, had long arms and legs, and a small head… .
“I think I hit the jackpot.”
(what?)
“I’ll call you later.”
After hanging up the phone, Choi Hae-na approached the boy. Was it bad luck today? Her heart pounded loudly with each step she took.
“Excuse me… student?”
“yes?”
The moment she made eye contact with the boy who had turned around, Choi Hae-na felt a thrill as if she had been struck by lightning.
‘I absolutely have to sign this kid!’
We need to tie her down with a trainee contract before another company takes her. Choi Hae-na relieved the tension of the child who was desperately on guard, half-hearted.
“Am I being casted right now?”
The voice is also good. I’ll know for sure when I get past puberty.
Moreover, the boy’s eyes sparkled as if he had been waiting and he kept asking questions.
“I want to be both a model and an actor. Is that possible?”
Oh my gosh. This kid even has the desire to be in the entertainment industry.
In fact, Choi Hae-na was wary of debuting too quickly, but any company would want to take a child like this and introduce her to the public quickly.
Anyway, Choi Hae-na took Yeo-jun and headed to the place where her guardian was.
‘A daycare center? Could it be that you don’t have parents?’
No, I don’t know yet. It’s possible that he was left in my care for a while due to family circumstances.
“Well, your parents aren’t here?”
Choi Hae-na ran a simulation in her head about what would happen if she took Yeo-jun and put him into action.
As an executive, I had to consider the public’s perspective. If I brought a child without a guardian and let them do activities, I would get caught up in a lot of gossip.
“Yes. Will that be a problem?”
Let’s think about that when it gets there.
Choi Hae-na’s heart pounded at the sight of Yeo-jun looking up at her while keeping an eye on her.
She naturally exudes an atmosphere that cannot be created even with plastic surgery. You can’t give up on someone like this? Absolutely not.
“Don’t worry about it! I’ll figure it out somehow!”
Whatever, let’s give it a try!
.
.
.
Choi Hae-na was busy going back and forth between related organizations and companies, discussing how to best bring in Yeo Woo-jun.
“Where did Director Choi go?”
“I went there again.”
“also?”
Although Yeo-Jun doesn’t know it, he has already become a famous person within Legacy Entertainment.
The irony of Choi Hae-na, who has hit it big with every idol she has introduced and created more than ten top stars, is hanging on.
“What kind of great person is he that he devotes himself to, even on vacation?”
“That’s why. I wish you would bring it quickly.”
“But what if it’s not as good as I thought? Director Kim is already waiting for it.”
The atmosphere at the company was half anticipation and half suspicion. There were also opinions that the new development team had already been going around the country and that he might not be that great.
(Representative Heo) Director Choi. How are things going?
(I) There’s not much left
(Representative Heo) Why don’t you just give up and come back to the company? There’s a lot of work to do.
Choi Hae-na was capable and had a lot of work to do. It was better to give up than bring in a child with a high risk.
She sent me a picture of Yeo-jun. One picture would have been enough to convince me without me having to say a lot of words.
(Me) Are you telling me to give up on this kid?
Representative Heo immediately read the photo sent by Choi Hae-na and did not respond for about two minutes before replying belatedly.
(Representative Heo) How can I help you?
* * *
Choi Hae-na said not to worry and that she would talk it over with the adults.
Even though she was busy, she came to see Yeo-Jun whenever she had time, in case he changed his mind.
I was also worried that another agency might take over.
‘It’s almost time for the results to come out.’
I waited patiently as there was no company like Legacy, but quite some time had passed.
Fox Jun was starting to get impatient. If he wanted to receive protection for those under the age of 10, he had better act quickly.
“Woojun! Okay!”
And finally, the long-awaited result came out. Yeo-Jun ran around without even thinking about his dignity.
Maybe it was because of the influence of a young body, but sometimes childish behavior would pop out.
I felt SS clicking his tongue, but I tried to ignore it. What, why, what. I’m a kid.
‘Hey. Congratulations quickly.’
<
‘You’re being insincere. Is that right?’
SS reluctantly used flashy emoticons.
Choi Hae-na explained how she was able to bring Yeo-jun in during that time.
That’s why you can trust this person. He didn’t just let it go because he was a kid, he explained everything to me.
“Woojun. Is your dream of becoming a celebrity still the same?”
“Yes. I want to debut quickly.”
What are you talking about now after everything? Yeo-Jun tilted his head.
“Well… … If you start working when you’re young, you miss out on a lot of things. It might be harder than you think… … .”
Ah, I get what this guy is worried about. There have been quite a few people in that world who have fallen apart due to too much premature activity.
‘Good posture.’
You might wonder, “What kind of hypocrisy is this?” while making children do activities, but there are many people who can’t even be hypocritical.
‘Normal answers like needing money or wanting to get out of foster care can seem like childish rambling.’
If you really want to convince Choi Hae-na, you just have to write a drama.
“I want to be famous. When I become famous… … there are people I want to meet.”
Objectively speaking, Yeo-Jun had enough narrative to write a drama. A child who was left in an orphanage without any relatives. It’s easy to imagine.
As he intended, Choi Hae-na covered her mouth with her hand and interpreted the bait that Yeo-jun intentionally dropped in her own way.
‘I guess you want to become famous and find your parents!’
Anyway, thanks to Choi Hae-na, Yeo-Jun is ready to go up to Seoul as a trainee for Legacy. The orphanage family came out to greet him.
“Woojun. Are you going now?”
“Yes, Director. Thank you for everything.”
“What have we done… … .”
“I’ll come here often when things get better.”
Yeo-Jun bowed his head to the daycare director and the adults. His words that he would come often were not empty words.
In order to reach one million points, he had to use all his faith. Yeo-Jun decided to believe in the saying that if you do good deeds, you will receive back what you have done.
‘This kid will grow up to be great.’
Choi Hae-na looked at Yeo-jun without saying anything. As he had helped many people succeed, Choi Hae-na’s intuition was not wrong.
‘How should I raise them?’
I only brought him here to see his face so I couldn’t tell if he had any other talents, but he’s so young so I think if we train him well he’ll be fine.
If there’s just one thing I’m worried about… … .
‘The kid is so mature.’
When dealing with Yeo Jun, it felt like I was talking to a seasoned adult, not a child who had just started elementary school.
I told him all the complicated legal stuff, but he seemed to understand it all.
“Brother. Are you really going?”
“Don’t go… … .”
“I’ll come often. You have to listen to what the adults say.”
Sometimes, his mature behavior that doesn’t match his age gives me goosebumps, but he seems to have a good personality because the kids at the same facility don’t like to be sent like that.
“Sir, is this car tinted?”
“Yeah. Why is that?”
As Choi Hae-na was leaving the daycare center with her child, she heard the sound of a window going down and turned her head.
What she saw was Yeo-Jun Yeo raising his middle finger at a child standing outside the window. Choi Hae-Na was shocked.
“Woojun, you shouldn’t say that to your friends.”
“Yes. I will be careful.”
Yeo-jun, who was rolling up the window, snorted at the grumbling Ida-won. He should at least get some small revenge like this before they see each other again.
‘Should we do character education in advance?’
Choi Hae-na was confused by that sight, but soon raised the corners of her mouth. Still, she does have a childish side.
* * *
The office of the 2nd headquarters led by Choi Hae-na. Jin-yeop Heo, the CEO of Legacy Entertainment Company, came down there.
“Representative!”
The staff greeted him with surprise, and one friendly employee asked him slyly.
“Did you come here because you were curious about that child?”
“Yes. The contract is special, so I have to be there. And I saw her picture beforehand.”
“Really?”
Jin-Yeop Heo was not a very authoritarian person, so many employees approached him.
“What does it look like?”
“Huh? You guys didn’t see it? Director Choi didn’t see it like that, did you keep it a secret from your team members?”
“That’s why!”
As the entrance gate opened, Choi Hae-na appeared.
“Why are you all gathered here?”
“Director! Are you here?”
“That kid… … .”
The staff members were silent at the sight of Yeo-Jun Yeo coming in. Some people held their breath.
“……and.”
A few seconds passed and a sigh escaped.
Yeo-Jun nodded as if he understood. I had the same reaction when I first saw my face.
Choi Hae-na raised one corner of her mouth and made a proud expression.
“Woojun. I have to say hello.”
“hello!”
Several employees screamed at Yeo Jun’s greeting. Ha, this body’s popularity.
“Hey, nice to meet you!”
“You are really handsome.”
Yeo-Jun Woo, who received such an unexpected welcome, entered the conference room and began the process of finalizing the contract.
“The contract followed the standard contract.”
“There are no problems for now.”
A variety of people gathered, including company CEO Jin-yeop Heo, sponsor Hae-na Choi, and judges and lawyers from child-related organizations.
‘There are no toxic provisions. The ratio is also good.’
Of course, Yeo-Jun Yoo knew how to read the contract without a lawyer. After the adults signed that they had checked the contract, Yeo-Jun Yoo was the last one to sign.
“i look forward to!”
“Haha, okay.”
CEO Heo Jin-yeop smiled happily. Even when looking at the photo, he was a gem that took my breath away, but when I saw him in person, I realized that the photo did not capture Yeo Woo-jun properly. He is a child with a promising future.
Yeo-Jun flinched at the message window that suddenly appeared and looked into space.
A thousand points?! Fox Jun swallowed his breath. SS!
<
‘sorry!’
