Chapter 17: A mother's fury.
The presence of the woman engulfed in flames became increasingly oppressive, as if the very air around them was being compressed by the fury she radiated.
Faen, who had never felt anything like it, felt a wave of terror invade her core. She was powerful, but what stood before her... was something beyond her comprehension, beyond anything she had ever faced.
Elion's strength wasn't just physical; it seemed to resonate in the very fabric of reality around them.
The weakening spell... it doesn't work? Faen thought, realizing that she would never have defeated Eva if it weren't for the environment she had created before Eva's arrival... The entire place was a trap designed to capture the girl, but now... Everything crumbled with just one presence.
The woman, with eyes burning like embers, no longer responded. She simply advanced. Her heavy, relentless footsteps resounded like hammers beating on Faen's chest. Each movement carried such an intense pressure that the air seemed to vibrate, distorting around her.
Faen tried to react, but before she could move a muscle, Elion raised her hand, and the flames from her head began to expand, enveloping her completely.
"You dare threaten my son?" Elion said, her voice dripping with rage and pain, as if each word were a sentence of destruction. "I will make you feel the greatest pain of your life for touching my baby!"
The air grew even hotter as Elion began to cast her first spell. Waves of magical energy flowed from her essence, tearing the space around them. The ground beneath her feet cracked, shattering like glass, and the flames surrounding her intensified, becoming even fiercer.
Faen, for a moment, tried to react, raising a magical barrier to protect herself, but it was useless.
Elion didn't just want to destroy; she wanted to make Faen's very existence crumble, to obliterate that woman.
"Prepare yourself." A sadistic smile formed on her lips as she invoked the power of cosmic flames, the essence of chaos and pure destruction. The force of her magic was unleashed with overwhelming power, like an explosion of light and heat that tore through the reality around Faen.
Faen's barrier was instantly obliterated, consumed by the force of Elion's attack. The impact was so devastating that the sound of the explosion reverberated through the trees, making the sky tremble.
Faen was thrown back, her body being shredded by the brute force of the magic. Each part of her being seemed to unravel, not just physically, but as if the very essence of her existence was being corroded by that power.
"I've tried to live a calm life, but I will not allow a being like you to live!" Elion shouted, her voice echoing with primal force. "I will turn you to dust."
With a dismissive motion, she raised her hand again, this time channeling all the energy of the earth, fire, and air into a single beam of pure destruction. The power of the magic was so overwhelming that Faen had no chance. The beam struck her directly, and Faen's body was consumed by an explosion of energy.
"Never return," she said, her voice trembling with emotion.
There was no more Faen. There was nothing left of her. She was disintegrated by Elion's fury, her existence erased from reality in a grotesque and brutal way.
What remained was a crater in the ground, marked by absolute devastation, and the echo of the primal force that Elion had unleashed.
Elion continued to stare at the empty space where Faen had been disintegrated, her eyes still burning with such intense rage that it seemed endless. Her chaotic power gradually subsided as she looked around at the scene... Her home, her son, her friend, and even a small intruder, all of them somehow wounded or destroyed in this place.
Elion snapped her fingers, her expression full of frustration as she surveyed the chaos around her. The flames on her head burned fiercely, reflecting her fury. "Tsk... why did I visit that old man?" she grumbled, her voice a low growl filled with impatience. If she had stayed there, none of this would have happened. She knew that. But there was no time for regrets.
With an explosion of energy, she raised her hands, the flames and magic within her intensifying further. The ground around her trembled, as if the world itself could feel the fury she was unleashing. The trees bent away from her presence, and a wave of pure magical force swept across the area.
"Arcane Time!" The word escaped her lips like a sentence, and in that instant, a massive blue magic circle appeared in the sky. It began to glow with a blinding intensity, its runes pulsing as if they were being fueled by the very essence of space and time.
The circle expanded rapidly, engulfing the entire area. Time seemed to be pulled back, as if being reassembled, restored to its original form. What was once destruction and chaos was slowly reversed, as if the threads of time were interweaving and reorganizing the world around her.
The crater where Faen had been obliterated filled in, the void of her absence smoothing out until the ground returned to its solid, unaltered state. The trees that had been uprooted were repositioned, their roots intertwining with the earth once more. The house that had been destroyed by Sylphie's uncontrolled aura rose again as if it had never been damaged. The walls rebuilt themselves, the furniture repositioned, and the fallen objects rose, everything perfectly restored.
Even the protective dome that had been shattered by the chaos force was remade. The invisible barrier stood once again around the area, flawless in its integrity.
Elion remained silent, her eyes still glowing with the intensity of the flames that seemed to reflect her unwavering determination. The quietness of the moment contrasted with the spectacle of destruction and restoration she had just performed. Time was once again under her control, and her home stood as if nothing had happened, but her mind remained alert.
She slowly turned her gaze to Kael, the young boy who, even in the midst of chaos, showed courage that defied his age. With a single step, Elion disappeared from where she stood and reappeared beside the boy, crossing the distance in an instant as if the space between them was irrelevant.
Kneeling slightly, she extended her hand over Kael's head. "Heal," she said firmly, her voice soft but filled with authority. A wave of green mana flowed from her palm, enveloping the boy in a comforting light. The wounds on his body began to fade, his skin regaining its healthy color as the magical energy restored not only his health but also his strength.
Without hesitation, Elion turned her other hand to Sylphie, still unconscious and trembling from the chaos she had caused. "Heal," she repeated, and once again, the green mana glowed. The magical energy spread across the girl's body, soothing her tensions and stabilizing the flow of mana around her. The devastating effects of the aura that had escaped her began to dissipate, leaving Sylphie in a peaceful state she hadn't felt in hours.
Elion looked at both of them for a moment, her face impassive, but her eyes betrayed a deep concern. "You are so small, so fragile... and yet, you can attract chaos like no one else." She sighed, rising gracefully, as if carrying the weight of worlds on her shoulders, but without showing any sign of weakness.
Her eyes fixed on Kael. "Remember this, boy. No matter how strong you think you are, there will always be someone or something far beyond your comprehension. Today, you were lucky... because I'm here." Her words were harsh, but carried an undeniable truth, a lesson she seemed to be hammering into him.
Finally, she turned her gaze back to Sylphie, now resting peacefully. "You too..." she murmured in a softer tone. "So small, but already carrying such a heavy burden. Eva will take you home, don't forget what happened here. Become Strong."
