Swallowed Star: The Sacred Eye of Duplication

Chapter 71: Chapter 71: Luo Feng Returns

With his experience using the soft water gun, Ye Yun wasn't entirely clueless. At the very least, he managed to quickly get started connecting the blue lines on the needles. However, certain lines related to space laws still hindered him from forming a complete swordfish.

Even after more than two hours of non-stop training, Ye Yun failed to master the first move of the Cold Light Nine-Section Spear. However, he did gain some familiarity and a deeper understanding of the weapon. His speed in breaking down the fine needles and controlling their combinations had improved significantly.

After finishing his training in the Killing Space, Ye Yun didn't leave the battlefield. Instead, he entered the Duel Space of the Ganwu Continent. Since his previous battle records and star rating from Heilongshan Island didn't carry over, his status remained at its initial level—Star Level 2, with no star ranking.

"Let's begin, Momo Fish!"

Time passed as Ye Yun trained, while the Earth Alliance gradually stabilized. With Ye Yun introducing cosmic knowledge and technology, all the alliance's factions focused on studying rather than internal conflicts. The alliance was becoming more unified.

Following Ye Yun's plan, Hong and Lei Shen shared advanced cultivation techniques with Earth's councilors at the Ares Palace training camp. The allure of power kept the councilors focused, eliminating any ulterior motives.

Beyond training, Ye Yun closely monitored Earth's development. Under his plan, the Earth Alliance formed a unified force, starting from major base cities and expanding into the wilderness. Their goal was to clear these areas and create more living space for humanity.

However, Ye Yun didn't intend to wipe out all wilderness zones. He planned to preserve designated areas, like City No. 1001, which had been used to train elite students. He believed that eliminating all monsters wasn't ideal—warriors needed real battles to grow.

Everything progressed smoothly. Soon, it was December 26, 2058, on the Earth calendar.

Luo Feng, after bidding farewell to the No. 9 Civilization Ruins' intelligence, passed through a mirror-like passage. After a year and three months, he finally left the ruins.

"I wonder how Mom and Dad are doing after all this time... And is Xu Xin still waiting for me?"

Having endured relentless death-training for over a year, Luo Feng's longing for his family and Xu Xin erupted. He only wanted to return to Yangzhou City in Jiangnan Base and announce that he was alive.

The Earth Alliance had already taken over the underground base near the ruins. At the entrance, the doors slowly opened, and a figure in black, with an untidy beard, stepped out.

A beam of light scanned him.

"Ding. Welcome back, God of War Luo Feng."

As the passage opened and Luo Feng returned, the base staff respectfully guided him to a meeting room.

Strangely, despite their politeness, none of them seemed surprised to see him alive. Their calm demeanor made Luo Feng marvel at their professionalism.

Inside the reception room, a familiar figure stood in the center, arms open with a welcoming smile.

"Ayun!"

Luo Feng was stunned. He had been separated from Ye Yun even longer than from his family. During that time, he had worried about his friend, unsure of what had happened. Now, seeing Ye Yun safe, excitement surged in Luo Feng. He stepped forward and gave him a big hug.

After a while, they sat down, and Ye Yun grinned.

"Fengzi, don't worry. I've taken care of your uncle and aunt. Get yourself ready and come back in top form!"

Luo Feng chuckled, his spirits lifted. Yet, as he looked at Ye Yun, a question nagged at him.

"Ayun, how did you know I was alive? And why did you come to pick me up immediately? If someone doesn't leave the ruins within three months, they're usually declared dead."

Ye Yun patted his shoulder, smiling.

"Fengzi, I know you have a lot of questions. Pack up first. I'll explain everything when we get home."

On the way back, Luo Feng read the information Ye Yun sent via his auxiliary optical computer. The more he read, the more shocked he became. He hadn't expected Earth to change so drastically in just over a year.

As he processed it all, he turned to Ye Yun with a wry smile.

"Ayun, I thought inheriting the No. 9 Civilization's legacy would help me catch up to you. But now, the gap between us is even wider!"

Through his auxiliary optical computer's scan, Luo Feng discovered that Ye Yun had already reached Stellar Level 3—an entire realm beyond him!

Initially, Luo Feng believed that while Ye Yun had advanced to the Planetary Level earlier, the difficulty of cultivation after that stage would slow him down. Luo Feng had trained rigorously, mastering the "Basic 312 Styles" for spiritualists and reaching the threshold for breaking into the Planetary Level. With the "Nine-Nine Soul Tempering" method, his breakthrough was inevitable.

He thought he had a chance to catch up. But seeing Ye Yun at the Stellar Level left him stunned.

Still, Luo Feng was no ordinary person. He quickly shook off his initial shock. Rather than discouraging him, this only fueled his determination. More than that, Ye Yun was his brother—he was proud of him.

Ye Yun, sensing Luo Feng's thoughts, laughed.

"Fengzi, by now you must understand how the universe works. Planetary Levels are just grunts and servants. Stellar Levels have it slightly better. Only at the Cosmic Level do you truly become strong. Right now, I'm just ahead temporarily. There's still a long road ahead!

I genuinely hope that one day, you surpass me. That way, I'll have a reason to push forward, too. Don't keep lagging behind!"*

Their laughter filled the sky as they flew back to Yangzhou City.

After reuniting with his family and Xu Xin, Luo Feng visited Wei Wen's villa, where Ye Yun was waiting.

The three chatted, and Ye Yun recounted how Wei Wen had been ambushed in the wilderness. Luo Feng felt anger and relief. Although the culprit had been dealt with, it was a close call. If Wei Wen hadn't been lucky, Luo Feng might have returned to find him dead.

Ye Yun placed a hand on Luo Feng's shoulder and spoke seriously.

"This incident was a lesson. We need to eliminate threats before they become irreversible. Think about it—if you had been trapped in the ruins and declared dead, and I was away, how would your enemies treat your uncle and aunt?"

Luo Feng fell into deep thought. After becoming an Invincible God of War, he had dismissed Li Yao as insignificant. But if what Ye Yun said was true, Li Yao would have targeted his parents.

He remembered Li Yao's ruthless tactics. Back in Australia, Li Yao had tried to kill him with a laser cannon. The thought sent a chill down his spine. He was grateful that Ye Yun had suppressed Li Yao before anything happened.

Ye Yun spoke again, his voice low but firm.

"Fengzi, your feud with Li Yao is a life-or-death matter. Before, external forces kept it in check, but now I can arrange for you to face him one-on-one. What do you say?"

Ever since Luo Feng killed Li Yao's son, their enmity had been irreversible. Without hesitation, Luo Feng nodded.

"Alright! As long as it's a fair fight, I'll kill Li Yao myself!"

Ye Yun's proposal fit Luo Feng's own wishes. He knew Ye Yun could easily eliminate Li Yao, but this was personal. The grudge they had built over the years had to be settled by his own hands. Only then could he truly move forward.
