Chapter 25: I am not gay!
Augustine winced, pulling his hand back. "Ouch!" he exclaimed softly, looking down at his finger with a mixture of surprise and alarm. "I guess this is a sign that shows that you don't want to be kissed," he muttered wryly, trying to hide his shock and embarrassment.
Charles's eyes fluttered open, the scowl on his face breaking the fragile tension in the room. "Why are you being so annoying?" he muttered irritably, his voice thick with sleep as he rolled his eyes in annoyance.
Augustine swallowed hard, his cheeks reddening at Charles's blunt words.
A while ago, Charles had been trying to drift off to sleep, but his mind had been racing with a whirlwind of thoughts and emotions. And then, there was Augustine—quietly entering the room, his presence a gentle yet undeniable distraction as he began to speak to himself.
At first, Charles planned on opening his eyes so that he could alert Augustine that he was still yet to fall asleep, but on second thought, he decided that if he rise from the bed, then it would make Augustine feel embarrassed, knowing that Charles had heard all the words that he proclaimed to himself.
Unfortunately, Charles had no option but to react after being aware that Augustine planned on kissing him without consent.
"Since when have you been awake?" Augustine questioned with arched brows as he took a seat at the other end of the bed.
Charles properly sat down on the bed as he breathed in. "I haven't fallen asleep." He sincerely stated "And by the way," Charles continued, his voice still rough with irritation, "I'm not gay, so I'd appreciate it if you'd stop sexualizing me."
Augustine snorted in disbelief, pulling the blanket tighter around himself. "Are you sure you're not gay? Or maybe you just haven't figured it out yet?" he countered, his voice dripping with sarcasm as he turned to face Charles, his eyes piercing in their intensity.
"I'm not gay, Augustine," Charles repeated firmly, rolling onto his side and tucking the blanket around himself with a deliberate movement. "And I'd like to get some sleep. I've got a long day tomorrow."
Charles turned his back on Augustine, his words a clear dismissal as he settled into his bed before closing his eyes to allow the call of nature to take over him.
Augustine stares at the back of Charles in complete silence, his eyes narrowed in thought as he decided not to utter any disturbing words out of his mouth.
He watched Charles's chest rise and fall in the soft rhythm of sleep, and finally, he turned away, retreating into his own thoughts.
Augustine took a deep breath, his eyes drifting up to the ceiling as he exhaled slowly.
'Another night of intense thinking,' he mused to himself while shutting his eyes, as the call of nature drifted him into a great slumber.

Slowly, Charles stirred, his body still heavy with sleep. But as he tried to open his eyes, he found himself met with resistance.
Confused, he raised his hand up to find that Augustine's hands blocking his vision and for a brief moment, he was unsure how to react because literally he was caught l off-guard.
"Remove your hand," Charles grumbled but was met with swift silence.
Charles's eyes narrowed as he pushed Augustine's hand away, his irritation mounting as he fought for control of the situation.
"Augustine, what do you think you're doing?" he demanded, his tone betraying the frustration that had begun to build within him.
He shifted uncomfortably beneath the blanket, instinctively drawing the fabric tighter around himself as though to create a barrier between the two of them.
'What a freak,' Charles spat, as he tried to rise from the bed, but suddenly, Augustine wrapped his hands around Charles's neck, pulling his face closer to his.
Charles could feel the warmth of Augustine's breath against his face, the proximity between them becoming almost unbearable.
"What are you doing, Augustine?" Charles repeated, his voice tinged with a mix of irritation and nervousness.
"Augustine, let go of me!" Charles yelled, trying to use his entire force to push Augustine away from him but to his greatest surprise, Augustine opened his eyes wide, as he leaned his lips towards that of Charles… aiming for a kiss.
