System vs Rebirth

Chapter 1297 Cooperation of Two Dukes

Duke Lorelei was sitting in the garden. After calming his excitement, he realized that releasing the energy shouldn't be done inside the mansion.

After that, he took a deep breath and swallowed the pill.

The reaction of his body was similar to Livia's description. It stimulated his spirit to the point where the burst of spiritual energy couldn't be contained within his body.

There was a ring behind his body as ten swords stuck on that ring, acting like a halo on his back.

Then, these ten swords moved frantically, which forced the duke to control their movements and release their energy to the ground.

Despite all of them stabbing the ground, the released spiritual energy still created long and deep slices in the soil, which ended up ruining the entire garden.

However, the effect of the pill truly shocked him.

"This is…" Duke Lorelei looked at the swords around him. He recalled them back to the halo before controlling them to fly around him.

He could control them like they were the extension of his hand. Discover more content at My Virtual Library Empire

This kind of ability was perfect to kill numerous demons on the battlefield, as he simply had to send these ten swords to slaughter them. Unless they were peak level demons, he doubted they were strong enough to withstand even a single attack.

"Congratulations, Duke Lorelei." Livia smiled. There was one more person coming with her. It was none other than the current patriarch of the Lorelei family, Duke Lorelei's son, Patrick Lorelei.

"Father…"

Duke Lorelei sighed in astonishment. "This is a miraculous medicine. For the time being, I don't see any side effects, so I guess I can trust it not having any side effects, as its creator said.

"Everything is similar to what has been described, so I have no qualms. No, wait. I do have one thing to say."

"What is it?" Livia's heart skipped a beat. While she had swallowed the pill, she didn't know everything about the pill. If the duke complained, she was afraid that she would end up failing her mission.

However, the duke simply laughed while saying, "The quantity is too low. I only get one? Can I get at least three more for Patrick, Julius, and our captain, Fredrick?"

"Father…" Patrick scratched the back of his head. He never thought his father would be shameless enough to ask for him and his son.

Livia laughed in relief. "My goodness. Duke, you can't play me like this. If the princess of the Greenwood Kingdom were to die because of a heart attack, the Muivell Kingdom would be so angry that they would charge you with treason."

Duke Lorelei chuckled. "Hahaha."

"Well, I will be telling my master about it."

"Never mind. If it's requesting more pills, I will go there personally once your teacher returns." Duke Lorelei shrugged. "I can finally see what I need to do after this."

"Father. You're not going to be reckless, right?"

Duke Lorelei smiled playfully. "What are you talking about? I have just gained an 'enlightenment' that I can't help but test it personally."

"!!!" Patrick and Livia widened their eyes. With such an excuse, he could get out, which made the enemies panicking. At this rate, they had to move more force just to stop this old man who was complaining about not being able to practice what he just got.

Greenwood Kingdom.

Noel's grandfather, Raincart Ezenholm, was experiencing the same thing.

Unlike Duke Lorelei, his ability was ice. The moment all of it burst out of his body, the entire garden and even half of the mansion were suddenly covered in a thick layer of ice.

Dimitri was rescuing the maids and butlers who were innocently taking care of the area while using his own energy to combat this chilling energy.

"W-What is going on? Father!" His son, the current royal magician, couldn't help but rush out of the mansion.

Raincart laughed out loud. "Hahaha. This is amazing. I finally understand why Noel was so desperate to take the incomplete one back then."

Raincart couldn't help but recall what happened when Noel took this pill. The reaction for both his ice and fire spirits were so powerful that it almost harmed the people around them. In fact, if not for him suppressing the news and erasing all traces, Noel would have become the center of attention.

One wrong move would just make him unable to re-establish the Ardagan family.

Raincart turned to Dimitri, asking, "You're planning to distribute this?"

"Yes. In the future, once we have enough supply for it. Besides, Master Noel hasn't returned yet, so we can't make such a huge decision by ourselves.

"However, we're planning to create a few more pills with this pill as the foundation."

"Yeah, you've told me earlier." Raincart thought for a moment. "A world where everyone could use their spirit, huh? This meant a lot more people would be fighting for resources, which would end up forcing them to find those resources from the demon territory. This would create a race to expand as quickly as possible in twenty or thirty years in the future.

"With the addition of the rune technology, it will create a movement to reconquer the world.

"That's going to be a hectic situation where I have to say… you shouldn't distribute this… at least for the moment.

"If you want to gain the royal family's cooperation, I can discuss it privately with the king so that we can develop the system for it first before distributing it.

"But that's not what you need right now, is it?"

Dimitri shook his head. "Well, we don't really need anything. This is just a distraction to force them to increase the troops on the border to prevent you from helping us. This is enough for us."

Raincart rubbed his chin a few times before saying, "In that case, I will make it look like I'm going to your kingdom for a visit. Meanwhile, I will be taking care of the royal family. In addition, don't distribute this pill yet, especially to this kingdom. I don't support any princes or princesses, but if one of the nobles who supports them receives it, it will create a massive advantage for them.

"Ultimately, it might end up dragging Noel into this kingdom's politics."

"Understood. I will be relaying your message." Dimitri politely nodded.

"You're going back now?"

"Not yet. I have to visit the Atracaeca Kingdom first."

"Oh!" Raincart contemplated. "In that case, let me write you a letter. Visit Great Protector Dunne first. It will make your negotiation easier."
