System's POV

Chapter 826: I Love This Version Of You

The soft breaths of two people sleeping echoed faintly inside the room.

There were still two hours before sunrise, so Thirteen and Shana were in deep sleep.

Around this time, the door inside their room quietly opened, and a young lady sneakily entered, making sure she wouldn't make any sound.

Her gaze landed on the two people on the bed, and when her gaze landed on Zion, a smirk appeared on her beautiful face.

'You really are a big baby,' Erica thought when she saw what was inside Zion's lips. 'Good. I guess Shana succeeded in making you drunk. I just wish the two of you managed to have a heart-to-heart talk before eating each other up.'

Little did Erica know that Zion hadn't drunk a single drop of champagne.

Instead, he breathed in the scentless fragrance of a heavenly wine from Sun Wukong's wine gourd.

The Monkey King made sure to put the Divine Gourd under the bed, so Thirteen's libido switch would be turned on.

Unlike in his drunken state, Thirteen was well aware of what he was doing, so he couldn't blame anyone for what happened between him and Shana.

Simply put, the smell of the heavenly wine didn't intoxicate the teenage boy but only made him more honest with himself, allowing the Saintess to see the version of Zion, whose cold heart had melted due to her fiery feelings for him.

The Sorceress, who was observing Zion's body, arched an eyebrow because she saw some marks left behind by Shana, making the corner of her lips twitch.

There were kiss marks on the teenage boy's neck, shoulder, collarbone, chest, arms, hands, and legs.

'T-This girl is wilder than I expected,' Erica thought.

She was half-tempted to give Zion a light push, so he'd lay stomach up, allowing Erica to see the entirety of his body.

In the end, she didn't do that as she didn't want to get in the way of what little time Thirteen and Shana had left with each other.

To her surprise, similar marks were also all over Shana's body.

'… These two drunkards,' Erica mused. The Saintess' untainted body also had kiss marks on it, which made the Sorceress a little envious.

In the end, the Sorceress shook her head helplessly before leaving the room.

'At least both of you won't have any regrets now,' Erica gave the two sleeping teenagers one last glance before she left the room, closing the door firmly behind her.

Two hours later…

Shana slowly opened her eyes, and the first thing she saw was Zion's hair.

It took her a few seconds to recall what had happened the night before, which woke her up completely.

Lowering her head, she saw the young man's lips pressed against her chest, making her blush.

'So it wasn't a dream,' Shana thought, wondering if she should wake Zion up or not.

After a minute of thinking, she decided to just stay like this for a little while longer, hugging the teenage boy closer to her.

'He's like a baby.' Shana smiled faintly. However, after remembering what the big baby in her arms did last night, the blush on her face deepened.

She couldn't believe that she and Zion had really done all those things while both of them were sober.

Of course, she didn't know that Zion was affected by the heavenly wine, making him more sensitive and more emotional than usual.

"It's too bad we will be separated today," Shana muttered. "It's not fair… I don't want to leave."

"Dem ton't."

(A/N: Then Don't.)

Shana's eyes widened in shock because the teenage boy replied while his lips were still…

"You're already awake?" Shana asked.

"…"

"It's too late to pretend that you're asleep, you know?"

Thirteen, who was still under the influence of the fragrance of the heavenly wine, finally opened his eyes.

He then reluctantly pulled back, freeing Shana's breast from his lips before looking straight at her.

"Are you in a hurry to go to the Temple?" Thirteen asked.

"… Not really," Shana replied honestly.

"Then let's delay you going there for a day or two," Thirteen stated. "We arrived ahead of schedule anyway, so what's the rush?"

"What's this?" Shana smirked. "You're already missing me?"

"A little," Thirteen replied.

"Is that your honest feelings?"

"Yes."

Shana's gaze softened, so she moved to kiss Zion's lips, and the latter returned her kiss in kind.

"Zion, you seem different right now. I love this version of you," Shana said. "What happened?"

"You know, I've been wondering about this as well," Thirteen answered. "The only explanation I can think of is that I got slightly intoxicated due to the scent of the champagne, as well as its traces left on your lips when you kissed me."

Shana pondered for a bit before nodding in agreement.

"That might indeed be a possibility," Shana said. "So, are you telling me it's my fault that you've become honest all of a sudden?"

"Yes," Thirteen replied. "You're too pushy and wouldn't take no for an answer."

"Right." Shana nodded. "I'm indeed pushy."

The young lady then gently placed her hand behind Zion's back and guided his head back to her chest.

Zion closed his eyes to feel her warmth and softness.

He sought out her taste and fragrance unique only to her.

The teenage boy couldn't explain it, but before now, he felt like he had been living his life only using his four senses. Continue reading at My Virtual Library Empire

Sight. Hearing. Smell. Taste.

He lacked the sense of touch.

And for the first time in his life, that final sense, which seemed alien to him, returned on the night that he, and Shana, opened their hearts to each other.

It was similar to a veil being lifted in front of his eyes, allowing him to see the world for what it truly was.

And the moment he realized these things, he finally understood why his Hosts had fought tooth and nail to protect the people whom they loved.

Why they willingly made sacrifices for them despite knowing the risks, ultimately leading to their deaths.

This realization also made Thirteen feel afraid, his logical side reminding him how much he didn't want to be shackled by such feelings.

For he knew that if something bad were to happen to Erica, Sherry, and Shana, he would really go all out in order to protect these three young ladies who were worming their way inside his heart.

High above the Celestial Realm, Sun Wukong smiled faintly. He knew that he had given Thirteen the last puzzle piece that made the teenage boy understand what it meant to be human.

"Don't worry, Thirteen," Sun Wukong said softly. "If it's you, I'm sure you will find a way. After all, both of us have already defeated Fate once, right?"

The Monkey King then snapped his fingers, making the Wine Gourd disappear under Thirteen's bed.

The effect of the heavenly wine would soon disperse in time, and Thirteen would return to his usual state.

However, some things would never be the same again.

Sun Wukong had given the teenage boy a weakness.

But the Monkey King also believed that Thirteen could turn this weakness into strength.

He was the System of Cannon Fodders, and he dared to fight against a God—two Gods by now, in fact.

Although he lost his first battle against them, Sun Wukong believed that his best friend would be the one standing at the end.

And if not…

"I'm still here." Sun Wukong flashed a devilish smile. "I don't mind whacking a few Gods for your sake."

The Monkey King chuckled as he continued to drink some wine and looked down upon the teenage boy's own Journey to the West.
