Chapter 122: 122. Tsunade on My Back

Since they didn't drink alcohol and their appetites were small due to their age, Uchiha Shisui, Kurenai Yuhi, and the others quickly finished eating.

"It feels like they'll take a while to finish," Hanekawa remarked casually, glancing at Tsunade.

"Do we need to wait for them?" Kurenai followed up.

"You don't have to," Hanekawa thought for a moment before replying. "I'll just take my sensei back myself."

He was worried that Tsunade might get drunk.

Kurenai didn't press further.

After all, Tsunade could sometimes seem quite unreliable.

"Are we leaving now?" Obito Uchiha turned to look at Rin Nohara and asked, "Since there's still some time, how about I show you around the Uchiha clan's grounds?"

"I'd like that," Rin nodded slightly, then asked, "Are you all coming?"

She felt obliged since she had already agreed earlier and didn't want to refuse now.

"Let's go together," Asuma Sarutobi stood up, saying, "It's not like there's much to do if we head back anyway."

Even as the Hokage's son, he had never explored the Uchiha clan's grounds.

"Aren't you afraid the Hokage might hear you saying that?" Hanekawa joked with a smile.

"He's not here, so what's there to be afraid of?" Asuma instinctively glanced around before replying.

"You never know," Hanekawa shrugged.

Hiruzen Sarutobi had a crystal ball, and tonight was an important occasion for the Uchiha clan. He was probably spying on them.

"So what if he knows? I'm not scared of him!" Asuma snorted.

"Let's go," Obito interrupted, full of enthusiasm. "Rin, let me tell you, there are a lot of interesting places in the Uchiha compound."

Hanekawa and the others followed Obito away from the table.

The Uchiha clan's territory was indeed vast, almost like a miniature version of Konoha Village.

Everyone looked around with great interest.

"That river is called the Naka River," Obito said, pointing to it.

Hanekawa instinctively glanced over.

Under the lights, the river's surface was calm and ordinary.

He wondered where the Naka Shrine was located. Hanekawa remembered it being downstream.

Inside the Naka Shrine was a stone tablet inscribed with text that only the Uchiha could read. This tablet had influenced many, including Madara Uchiha.

Of course, the content they read had already been altered by Black Zetsu.

"Up ahead is the clan leader's residence," Shisui Uchiha said, stopping. "The leader isn't home, only his wife. We shouldn't disturb her."

"Not necessarily," Obito glanced at Rin, then said, "I think she'd be happy to see us."

"Then I'll ask," Shisui hesitated briefly before stepping forward to speak to the guards.

Before long, the door opened, and a young woman with black hair stepped out.

"Lady Mikoto," Shisui greeted politely.

"Shisui," Mikoto Uchiha smiled warmly. "Invite your friends in for tea."

"Yes," Shisui turned to Hanekawa and the others to relay the invitation.

"See? I told you!" Obito said proudly. "Our presence is valued here!"

"Let's go," Shisui, already used to Obito's personality, didn't comment further.

"Hanekawa, long time no see. Is Lady Tsunade here tonight?" Mikoto asked as soon as she noticed him.

Standing tall and strikingly handsome, Hanekawa was hard to ignore.

"She is," Hanekawa nodded.

"That's wonderful," Mikoto smiled. "It's an honor for the Uchiha clan to have Lady Tsunade here."

Obito's expression stiffened, feeling a bit annoyed.

"Honor? Ridiculous! Just because he has a great teacher…" he thought bitterly.

He had assumed no one in the Uchiha compound could overshadow him, yet Hanekawa did once again.

"Come in," Mikoto invited warmly after some small talk, opening the door.

Hanekawa and the others entered the living room.

A baby stroller near the sofa caught their attention.

"This is Itachi Uchiha," Mikoto said softly.

"So cute!" Kurenai exclaimed in amazement.

"He looks like Lady Mikoto. He'll definitely grow up to be handsome," Rin said after a quick look.

"You're too kind," Mikoto laughed, clearly pleased.

Hanekawa felt conflicted, unsure of what to say.

Thinking about the future made it hard for him to remain composed.

But the present was the present, and the future was uncertain, especially with the changes caused by his presence.

Mikoto soon brought out hot tea.

After some chatting, everyone bid farewell and left.

"It's about time. I should go find my teacher," Hanekawa said, glancing at the sky. "See you tomorrow."

"Alright," Kurenai waved at him. "Get home early."

Hanekawa headed for the courtyard.

The lively banquet was winding down, and most guests had left.

"Lady Tsunade, please stop drinking. You've had plenty already; you'll get drunk if you keep going," Minato Namikaze urged her earnestly.

"Drunk? Are you underestimating me? I... I can still drink!" Tsunade glared at him, picking up her cup again.

Minato Namikaze immediately felt a headache coming on.

Stopping her felt wrong, but letting her continue felt equally problematic.

Just then, his eyes lit up, and he quickly called out, "Hanekawa!"

"Minato-senpai."

Hanekawa glanced at the visibly flushed Tsunade and asked, "Has my sensei been causing you trouble?"

"Kid!" Tsunade shot him a displeased look. "What... what do you mean by that?"

"Not at all! Not at all!" Minato shook his head hastily.

"Let's go home, Sensei," Hanekawa said as he swiftly took the cup away from her.

"Give it back!" Tsunade glared at him fiercely, raising her head.

Minato's heart skipped a beat.

Would Lady Tsunade cause a scene in the Uchiha compound if she got upset?

He was already prepared to use the Flying Thunder God technique to forcibly take her away if things got out of hand.

"Next time, Sensei," Hanekawa said firmly, showing no fear.

"You... you're... you're..." Tsunade frowned, pointing at him with an annoyed expression.

"Sensei, you wouldn't want me to stop accompanying you to the casinos, right?" Hanekawa leaned down and whispered in her ear.

Tsunade's body stiffened, and her gaze became clearer.

She stood up, swaying slightly as she walked toward the exit.

"…?" Minato stared in confusion.

How did he manage to handle that?

Anyone familiar with Tsunade knew she was like a force of chaos—utterly unmanageable.

Yet Hanekawa managed to subdue her just like that. Impressive!

"Be careful, Sensei," Hanekawa quickly moved to support her by the waist.

"Kid!" Tsunade leaned on him, draping her arm around his shoulders and pressing against him. "I... I'll remember this! You threatened me today!"

The mixed fragrance around her filled the air.

Hanekawa felt the softness pressing against his shoulder and steadied himself. "Yes, it's all my fault."

"Eh?"

Tsunade paused, looking at him. "Why are you apologizing?"

"Didn't I upset you, Sensei?" Hanekawa replied with a smile.

Tsunade stared at him, momentarily dazed.

Coming back to her senses, she reached out and pinched his face twice.

"Fine, I'll forgive you!" she declared, waving her hand dismissively.

"Thank you, Sensei."

Hanekawa smiled faintly. It was rare to see this adorable, slightly silly side of her, so he didn't mind.

"So tired!" Tsunade muttered after taking a few steps. She suddenly pulled Hanekawa in front of her, leaped onto his back, and wrapped her arms around his neck, her legs locking around his waist.

"…?"

Hanekawa froze in place, caught off guard by her swift movement.

Reacting instinctively, he crossed his hands to support her thighs.

"Sensei?" Hanekawa glanced back at her.

But Tsunade had already fallen asleep, her breathing steady.

With each breath, Hanekawa could feel the weight pressing against his back.

"This is definitely punishment," Hanekawa muttered, shaking his head as he carried her home.

At the door, he struggled to unlock it before stepping inside.

Without removing his shoes, he went straight to Tsunade's room.

He called out to her a couple of times, but she didn't respond. Left with no choice, he turned his back to the bed and gently laid her down.

However, as soon as he tried to retreat, Tsunade's grip tightened, pulling him down.

"…"

Hanekawa pried her hands away and stood up.

Tsunade lay sprawled out on the bed, looking utterly relaxed.

Hanekawa glanced at her once before quickly looking away.

He bent down to remove her shoes, revealing her delicate, pale feet with a faint pink hue.

He tucked her feet under the blanket and left the room.

The Next Morning

Tsunade sat up, clutching her head as a wave of dizziness hit her.

There was no need to guess—it was because of the amount of alcohol she'd consumed the night before.

But it wasn't entirely her fault.

Who told the Uchiha clan to provide such excellent sake?

"How… how did I get back?" Tsunade muttered, rubbing her temples as fragmented memories resurfaced.

Recalling her behavior last night, a trace of embarrassment crept onto her face.

It was strange.

She usually didn't act like this even when drunk.

As one of the most accomplished shinobi, she never lost her sense of vigilance, no matter how intoxicated she was.

And with her Yin Seal, she could sober up instantly if she wanted.

Was it because she trusted that kid too much?

Tsunade licked her lips, feeling parched, and reached for the cup of water by her bed. She paused—the water was still warm.

That shouldn't be possible.

Getting out of bed, she pushed open the door and followed the faint sound of movement to the kitchen. There, she saw Hanekawa busily preparing something.

"Good morning, Sensei," Hanekawa greeted without looking back.

"When did you get here?" Tsunade asked, startled.

"Not long ago—maybe ten minutes," Hanekawa replied after a moment. "Go freshen up. Breakfast will be ready soon."

"Alright," Tsunade nodded softly, her gaze lingering on his figure, lost in thought.
