Even with the unpleasant experience caused by meeting an ArchDaemon of Jaune's lineage, I didn't let that ruin our time off.
Mira and I spent the next five days enjoying the full experience of a beach vacation, such as: surfing, water skiing, parachuting while being pulled by a sea monster as a substitute for a boat, drinking parties at night, some board games that I remembered and magically materialized, building sand castles, sunbathing, playing frisbee, among many other things, if you can do something on the beach you try it at least once.
On the last night of our vacation, we found ourselves in the living room of our cabin, playing one of the most evil games in existence, one so evil that it destroys friendships at every turn, a game that brings out the worst facets of the individuals who play it, causing fights, alliances and betrayals.
…
We were playing UNO!
"One," I said, placing a blue 3 on the pile of cards.
Mira gave me a deathly look at such an act.
His hands contained more than ten cards, the result of several +4s she had previously thrown.
To his annoyance none of his cards were the color or number of the last card I had drawn, so she regretfully had to draw another card, unfortunately picking up three cards before getting a green 3, which she threw away in irritation.
In front of her face, I was filled with amusement, without waiting for Mira to calm down, I threw my last card, a +4, into the pile of cards, causing her to go crazy.
She didn't calm down until she had destroyed every single card we played with.
I just stood there watching his tantrum, which I thought was adorable.
'That's what I wanted to do, the first time I played UNO with my friends and they all joined together to give me +2 and +4 left and right,' I nodded, understanding the frustration Mira was going through.
After finishing, she let out a sigh and calmed down.
"Aren't you forgetting something?" I asked with a smile.
With an annoyed face, she sensually took off her bikini and proceeded to give me a table dance show.
The reason, we bet that the loser would comply with a request from the winner and as you can see, my request was a nude table dance show.
'I never tire of enjoying Mira's beautiful body. Our relationship may go beyond mere physical fitness, but I can't deny that an attractive girl's body is a delight to my eyes.'
After several minutes of this spectacle, Mira put her bikini back on and lay back in my embrace.
"How was I?" she asked with purrs.
"Beautiful, as always," I said, giving her a passionate kiss on the lips.
"Today was the last day, right?" she said regretfully.
"Yes, although I would like to continue relaxing and enjoying life, I'm afraid that, as long as we don't have immense strength, we can only expect to lose everything because of someone who, if he has it, until I become a Demon Lord seed I won't stop looking for ways to become stronger without wasting time on things like vacations, after all, when I reach my goal we will have millennia to enjoy all of that as we please" I said playing with her hair.
"I know, I had fun this time, just you and me, without your studies or experiments"
"If you would like to spend more time with me, why don't you join me as my assistant?"
She rolled her eyes.
"You just want more manpower, why don't you just get some subordinates to help you?" I wonder curiously.
Which made me let out a sigh.
"I had that idea for a while, but I discarded it. Humans are a pain to manage, I learned that from Phersu. They always look for opportunities for themselves. If I tried to make one of them my assistant, even if I used magic to enslave them, they would always have bold ideas of rebellion in their mind. On the other hand, making use of a firmer mental control would block the autonomy I need in my assistant. They would only be a puppet."
"As for a magical beast type monster, most of them lack a high ego which makes them very susceptible to completely obeying their masters and that would also become a nuisance, in addition to not being very good at learning matters, just like you" I said pointing at her with my eyes.
"I had already considered using Elves, Dwarves, Onis, Mermaids or even vampires, the problem is that they are very proud and tend to prefer to be with their own kind, that includes those they are willing to serve, that is already engraved in them since their races were created"
"The elves are mostly under Sylvia El Ru and her daughter Elmesia, there are only a few scattered around the Jura forest and its variant, the dark elves near Gorake territory"
"The dwarves are under Guran Dwargo, the Oni disappeared a long time ago and only their offspring, the ogres, remain, the mermaids are a mystery to me, I planned to look for them when I explored the depths of the sea and finally the vampires, they are the completely loyal servants of Luminous Valentine since they owe their survival to her over the years"
"At least for the moment, subordinating yourself to me does not bring you greater benefits than those you get by following your ancestors."
"Adding to that, I would like to avoid having subordinates of a race that has a short life expectancy like werewolves. If that were the case, I would invest a lot of effort in cultivating subordinates, only for them to die decades later. That makes the use of appointment necessary, but it is not an option for me at the moment either, as that would only further delay my growth in strength."
"That is why I do not plan to have subordinates until I achieve my goal of being a Demon Lord seed, until then I must carry out all the work alone."
"I understand" Mira just said that.
"What's next after I come back?"
"I had planned to begin studying dragons, but the encounter with the daemon reminded me that I lack the means to confront them, as well as ways to fight when my magic and abilities are blocked by an anti-magic barrier, it is time to pay her a visit."
"Her?" Mira asked.
"The Elemental Queen, the Fairy of the Labyrinth, the Demon Lord Ramiris," I said seriously.
"Finally? I thought we would never go. You said that was your goal when we left the forest and that we would only pass through human territories. It's been almost a year since then," Mira said in surprise.
"I know I said that, but you can't deny that that year learning from humans brought me great benefits, without the analysis magic I learned from the library, I wouldn't have been able to analyze us and manage to get human forms, also I couldn't have gotten the material creation skill without being able to analyze the structure of objects, I wouldn't have learned all that with Ramiris, since she only uses spiritual magic"
Mira just nodded.
…
With the dawning lights of a new day, we wake up.
After eating a delicious breakfast, we decided to look for the abode of the spirits of Ramiris.
Not without first reinforcing the defensive and concealment barriers of my beach house. It may be simple, but I had good memories in it. If I have the chance later, I would improve it. If someone destroyed it, I would hunt them down and make them suffer miserably.
From our current location in the southern part of the continent, it did not take long to reach the place where the Republic of Ulgrasia would later be founded. At this time, the territory was occupied by several city-states that were constantly fighting to unify under the same flag. Using my memories, I searched near the borders with Sarion.
Although the search without any reference points took us several days, we finally found the door to the Ramiris labyrinth, inside a lush forest, with trees hundreds of meters high, a testimony to the rich natural energy of the area.
In one of the largest trees located deep within the forest, a ten-meter-high stone door was embedded in its trunk, along with stone stairs that led down to the forest floor.
"We finally arrived," I said, tired of the long search.
'It took me more than a week to find it, even though I limited the search area quite a bit, bordering Sarion, a very leafy forest and rich natural energy.'
Without wasting any more time I decided to go in.
"Remember, stay close to me, from the moment we enter we will be at his complete disposal, she may be a good person, but she likes to play with those who enter his labyrinth, that includes using illusion magic to confuse our senses" I said in a serious tone to Mira.
To which she simply nodded.
Both in our human forms we entered through the door, after taking a couple of steps inside, the doors closed on their own preventing us from escaping, I tried to take something out of my shadow storage, which was successful, but when I tried to enter it, something prevented me.
'Apparently you can use storage magic, but not magic that allows instant movement, curious.'
It was one of the wonders brought about by Ramiris' ability to change the rules at will in her domain.
Mira and I walked together through several corridors within the labyrinth, some of which led us to dead ends. Throughout the process, I could notice that Mira became disoriented several times and began to walk in other directions. I found it necessary to take her by the hand so that she would not get lost.
I knew it was Ramiris's illusion magic, unfortunately for her, my adaptive ability had given me an inherent resistance to mental magic, after testing several such magic on myself, as well as the abilities of several types of monsters, I came to the conclusion that it would take at least a unique mind control ability to affect me, which I knew Ramiris did not have.
Without worrying about getting disoriented, I was able to focus on traversing the maze, for which I used the depth-first search method, marking the current path as visited and its forks as adjacent unvisited nodes. If there are no adjacent unvisited nodes, as would be the case with dead ends, in which case I had to go back to the previous node, it was just a matter of repeating these steps for a while until I found the exit.
In front of us was a wide corridor tens of meters high.
< Hi hi hi , ha ha ha!>
Laughter began to sound in our minds, the result of telepathy.
I let the laughter continue for several minutes as I continued walking as if nothing had happened.
Seeing no change in our expressions, the laughter began to have a hint of annoyance.
The exasperated voice said through telepathy.
A small, imperceptible smile appeared on my face.
'For someone who seeks attention, what they hate most is being ignored'
"Why should we be afraid?" I asked with a false look of doubt.
And with his evil laughter, doors appeared in the walls of the corridor, from which golems of rock and iron emerged, which rushed towards us.
Calmly, I created several orbs of water around me and with them I created a cutting network which I fired in the direction of the golems, the ultra-high pressure cutting network as if it were a hot knife through butter, cutting all the golems into small cubes of their respective materials.
"You were saying?" I raised an eyebrow in amusement.
With his words, new golems appeared from the doors, unlike the previous ones, the new ones were made entirely of magisteel, which made them resistant to magic.
With a snap of my hand, I created a large amount of water creating a wave that covered all the golems, when all of them were soaked, with another snap the water froze, turning them into ice statues, restricting their movements .
"You were saying?" I repeated the previous sentence with a smile.
< Amm …Hmph… aha … haha > the laughter became more and more uncomfortable.
"Don't you think it's time to leave?" I said, directing my gaze to one of the pillars next to me.
Catching my gaze, she began to panic.
I had discovered her with my magical perception since we entered the labyrinth, but knowing that this was one of the few things Ramiris could have fun with, I decided to feign ignorance.
Clearing the illusion magic covering her she began to fly erratically around me in a panic, which amused me.
With a quick movement of my hand, I caught her by her wings.
With amusement I decided to let her go.
He quickly recomposed himself and flew in front of me.
With your eyes rolled back, create a small cage of water around you.
I was amused by his antics.
"Okay, okay, I'll release you, but after that we need to talk calmly, okay?" I said with a smile.
She nodded with a pout.
"Once the comedy act is over, allow me to introduce myself. My name is Kai, a humble snake and this one here is my partner Mira," I said, pointing at Mira.
Mira just nodded.
"Nice to finally meet you, esteemed Elemental Queen, Fairy of the Labyrinth, Lady Ramiris," I said, bowing subtly.
To which Ramiris was very pleased with the gesture.
< You're quite respectful, I like that, I'll forget your previous faults!> she said waving his hand as if it were nothing.
"Yes, I would like to show myself in my true form, but unfortunately I think this hallway cannot accommodate me," I said, stretching out my hands.
I could only shrug at a confused Mira.
We continued following Ramiris for a few more minutes until we reached a huge closed room, the size of the great Roman coliseum.
Following her request, I transformed into my snake form, to make it more fun, I coiled around her, opened my big mouth showing my imposing fangs, gave her a murderous look and tried to devour her.
I stopped just a few inches away from her.
"Hahahaha" I laughed amusedly, as I returned to my human form.
"You should have seen your face," I said, pointing at her.
With a pout, she began boxing her small fists on my shoulder.
I let her do that for a while until she got tired.
"Better?" I asked.
It was time for business.
"Well, you see, I recently fought an ArchDaemon, even if I sent it back to its world, I lack the means to deal with it easily, you know, they have magic resistance, and they are spiritual lifeforms, which made things very difficult for me, so I thought of looking into spirit magic, but information on spirit summoning magic is very rare and instead of searching everywhere on the continent, I decided to look for the best on the subject, that would be you Ramiris."
Ramiris, at my comment that she was the best, puffed out her almost non-existent chest with pride.
< Hmpf… you're right, in this world there is no one better at spiritual magic than the great Ramiris!> she said with his arms crossed.
"Yes, that's why I seek your advice, I've heard that you are the guide of the heroes, so you must be the best teacher there is" I said inflating his ego higher.
< Correct, correct, I am the best teacher! >
"Then Ramiris, you will teach me spiritual magic, battle aura management, and nuclear magic," I said quickly.
< Correct, I will teach you spiritual magic… wait a moment>! I cried in alarm.
I gave a forced smile, apparently it didn't work like I expected.
"You see, that bastard ArchDaemon when he saw that he was losing tried to throw nuclear magic at me, although I managed to interrupt it, he showed me the power of that magic, that's why I want to learn it and use it against him" I said angrily.
"Jaune's Bloodline"
We both nodded in unison, Jaune's bloodline had its reputation well etched in history.
"So…if you would teach me?" I said with puppy eyes.
She gave me a tired look.
It was time for the secret weapon.
From my shadow space I took out a basket with various sweets, such as: caramelized popcorn, dulce de leche, marshmallows, muffins, chocolate cookies and honey nougat.
Ramiris sniffed the sweetness coming from my basket and her mouth watered.
I shook my basket back and forth, Ramiris's gaze never leaving it.
"If you teach me, all of this will be yours and as long as you continue to teach me, I will continue to make these delicacies for you, consider it payment," I said proudly.
To seal the deal, I gave her samples of all the candy to try.
With each duce she tasted, Ramiris's eyes shone brighter and brighter like stars in the night.
'I didn't put much effort into looking for similar ingredients in this world and adapting the recipes I knew to these new flavours, that's Ramiris, enjoy them'
She didn't stop until she ate all the candy.
A little fairy with a big belly sat on my shoulder digesting.
"Is it a deal?" I asked with a smile.
"It's a deal!" I was so excited that for the first time since we met I dropped the telepathy and used my mouth to talk.

Author's notes:
Yes, I know this chapter doesn't match what was said in chapter two, but it was to be expected, this is not a finished novel, at most it could be considered a draft, I myself didn't know the twists the fanfic would take until getting to this point, in the future I will correct that chapter along with many others that I admit I don't really like, but I will surely do so until I completely finish the fanfic, or I could create a lot of doubts for readers who are more advanced, as happened with Gorake, forcing them to reread a lot of chapters, besides, I don't have enough time to correct them and keep up the pace of the uploads.
