Chapter 8: Chapter 8
A few hours later, as the sun rose and everyone was awake, the sunlight shining in their faces, the group continued their trek through the forest with the mission of getting to Mount Weather as soon as possible.
They walked without stopping until they came to a halt in front of a river, needing to cross it to continue on their way.
"This place is amazing," Alaric commented as he observed the river and the surroundings. "It looks like a good place for fishing. There must be fish in there. It has to be."
"We can think about that another time, Alaric. We need to keep moving now," Clarke said to him as she was in his embrace with Octavia.
"I would have no problem spending all day here with you, baby," Octavia purred as she rubbed her face against his body.
"Hehe, that's my girl." Alaric smiled and kissed Octavia's lips.
"Mmhmm~~," Octavia moaned into his mouth as she eagerly kissed him, circling her tongue all over his.
Clarke pouted as Octavia was acting all cute instead of making him focus on the problem at hand.
"We can use these vines to make it to the other side," Monty commented as he looked around the river. "They must be strong enough to get us across."
"That sounds fun," Jasper eagerly said, rubbing his hands together, wanting to try it.
Meanwhile, Alaric, after separating from his kiss, left a lovesick and weak-kneed girl leaning even closer to him. He looked to the side at his sister and took her into a kiss.
"Ah~~," Clarke exclaimed as her brother took her chin, making her look up at his eyes as he captured her lips. She quickly became lost in it, her eyes becoming half-lidded, enjoying it a lot, circling her little tongue with his slowly.
"Alright, let's try them out, shall we?" Finn said as he observed Alaric making out with the girls. He was frustrated about not having the same luck with the girls and pent-up getting a hard-on just thinking about last night's scene. So, he wanted to cross the river so they would stop. "I will go first."
After a moment of looking for a good, strong vine that could probably hold on long enough to get him to the other side of the river, Finn was a little hesitant as the moment came. He probed the vine again and again.
"You wanted to go first. Now quit stalling," Clarke chuckled with a smile as she leaned on Alaric.
"Don't be hard on the man. He needs to find his good timing to do it," Alaric said as he softly spanked his sister's sweet ass.
"Ah~~," Clarke yelped as she felt it. Then, she started making soft, cute sounds as Alaric started pawing her ass. "Mhmm~~."
"Alaricc~~" Octavia whispered softly, making cute sounds as she leaned on him while Alaric was also pawing her ass.
The guys rolled their eyes at their antics.
"Well, I think Mount Weather awaits," Finn said as he found the courage to finally do it.
"Just hang on till the apogee, and you'll be fine," Jasper said with a smile as he leaned against the spear he had in hand.
"The apogee, like the Indians, right?" Finn said, not understanding what 'apogee' meant.
"Apogee, not Apache," Jasper chuckled.
"Tell him like it was for a two-year-old," Alaric guffawed.
"He knows. Today, Finn," Clarke interrupted him, wanting to speed this up as they were wasting time. "Ah~~" she moaned as her brother started squeezing harder her ass.
"Aye, aye, captain. See you guys on the other side," Finn said as he took a running start and made a good jump, holding on to the vine as if his life depended on it.
"Ha ha! Whoo! Whoo! Whoo! Yeah!" Finn yelled excitedly as he crossed the river.
"Yes! Whoo!" Jasper cheered, seeing him jump and hold the vine.
"Yeah!" Clarke cheered.
"Yeah! Whoo!" Octavia cheered.
"Wohooo!" The guys yelled in excitement, cheering for him.
"Hold on till the apogee!" Jasper yelled as he saw him mid-flight.
"Heh heh. He's going fast like a quick monkey!" Alaric laughed.
"The guy is making it," Monty said as he looked at Finn, about to touch the other side of the river.
Finn landed on the other side a little roughed up but looking fine as he stood up.
"You did it, Finn!" Clarke cheered at him as she saw that he was able to cross.
"Whoo! Yeah! Ha ha ha!" Finn chuckled loudly as he pumped his fist in the air as a victory sign. "Come on, guys. It's easy!"
"Alright, guys. Who's next?" Alaric smirked as he looked at Monty and Jasper.
"I'm going; it looked so awesome," Jasper said eagerly as he approached to take the vine.
"Hold it for me," Jasper said as he passed him back the spear.
"It's my time for apogeeeeee!" Jasper yelled loudly and excitedly as he prepared to take a running start and jump.
"Yes!" Octavia cheered.
"Whoo!" Monty cheered with a smile for his friend.
"Yeah, Jasper!" Alaric cheered him up.
"Woohooo--o" The cheers of everyone suddenly were cut off midway as they saw a spear flying from their side of the river, going in the direction of Finn. It was so quick that, in a few blinks of an eye, they barely became aware of it as they saw Finn on the ground, leaning against the trees with a spear in his chest.
"Finn!" Clarke yelled, alarmed and terrified as she saw the guy stuck with a spear in his chest on the ground.
Octavia was terrified as she leaned against Alaric for protection, looking around.
Monty was shocked and alarmed, looking everywhere. The same was true for Jasper, whose face was pale seeing Finn stuck on the other side.
"Come on! Come on! Take cover!" Alaric was also alarmed and surprised, terrified of the thought that the spear could have been directed at Clarke or Octavia instead of Finn on the other side.
"Follow me!" Alaric yelled at everyone as he took his sister with his free hand to make her move from the place and yelled to Octavia and the others while gripping the spear strongly in hand.
"Finn!" Clarke still yelled to see if he moved or something as they ran, but saw nothing at all.
They made it to a few rocks beside the river shore and took cover. "Get down."
"We're not alone," Clarke said quietly, terrified of it.
"Fuck. We need to get the hell out of here. The woods are too dense; we can't see shit," Alaric said quickly, thinking about what they could do. The spear crackled as he gripped it strongly, looking around the trees.
"There!" Monty whispered softly as he saw movement on one side, pushing Alaric to look at it.
Alaric saw the figure of a man atop the trees, covered in vegetation.
"Alright, listen well. This is what we'll do," Alaric said quickly. "I will send the spear in hand against him, and we will run the fuck out of here from where we came. Okay?"
Everyone nodded.
"RUN! RUN! DON'T LOOK BACK, JUST RUN!" Alaric yelled as he, in the blink of an eye, gripped the spear strongly, almost cracking it, and made a throwing posture. The spear was sent ejected like a projectile, breaking through the air and making a loud sound. It impacted whatever was in the tree as something heavy fell like a bag of potatoes to the ground, making a loud sound.
The group ran like their lives depended on it. Alaric was covering Octavia and Clarke with his body from their back as they ran. Monty and Jasper ran like ghosts through the forest in front of everyone.
"Come on!" Alaric yelled, urging the people in front of him as they ran. His breath was ragged, his heart pumping, and the adrenaline high.
Suddenly, Monty fell down as his foot got tangled in something.
"Be careful, guys," Alaric said as they stopped for a moment to breathe, while Jasper helped Monty up. "Look at the ground in front of you while running, not around."
"Monty, come on! Man, we've got to go!" Jasper quickly said, his words stuttering as he was out of breath.
"Monty, get up!" Octavia also urged.
Alaric was looking around, mostly at the path leading to the river from where they had come, alert in case he saw something or someone.
"What is that?" Jasper exclaimed.
*Crows were squawking in the distance.*
"What are they?" Clarke muttered in surprise.
"What?" Alaric said absently, his focus elsewhere. But Clarke pulled him, and he looked at what she had in her hand. "Oh, shit." He exclaimed, seeing the weird-looking head that should have belonged to a humanoid.
"We are so screwed," Octavia said as she took Alaric's hand.
"Don't worry, we'll make it through," Alaric reassured her.
"AAaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh," Then, there was a loud, distant scream of agony and suffering, making the whole group nervous.
"Finn. He's alive," Clarke said, surprised. Then she wanted to help him instead of leaving him to whatever was out there.
"Clarke, wait. Wait! Wait," Alaric called out. "We can't go back."
"Alaric... we can't leave him there," Clarke said quietly as she took his hand. "We must help him."
"Let's go, let's help him," Monty and Jasper supported her.
Alaric got frustrated, but in the end, he nodded. "Let's go."
It didn't take them long to come back to the river. "Stay hidden among the trees."
"He was right there," Clarke said to the group as she pointed in a direction.
"No. Where is he?" Monty said in surprise as he took a deep breath, gasping for air.
"They took him," Clarke muttered softly.
"Alright, let's get the hell out of here. We can't do anything for now. Let's go back and then we can plan something else," Alaric said as he led Clarke and Octavia away, Jasper and Monty following their steps.
