Chapter 49: ASCC-Chapter 48 The Decision of the First Battle Opponent

Soon after, the police arrived at the scene and arrested all the terrorists, including Smile.

Japan has specialized prisons for incarcerating Blazer terrorists, scattered across the nation. However, to maintain secrecy and prevent escapes, these prisons are located in highly classified locations. Even Student Knights are unaware of their locations, and many professional knights remain ignorant.

After Smile's arrest, he would likely be sent to one of these prisons, never to be seen again.

"Please come and give your statements," An older middle-aged police officer politely requested of Ryoji and the others.

In this modern society, dominated by Blazers, the police, military, and various systems are all based on Blazer authority. As such, Blazers hold significant power. Even police captains don't flaunt their seniority around Student Knights, uncertain if these children will become their superiors after graduation.

However, power comes with responsibility.

Blazers enjoy numerous privileges, but they also bear the responsibility to protect ordinary citizens during situations like terrorist attacks. This is why the League promotes knight training within the Blazer community, to foster a sense of responsibility from childhood.

In some member countries, the League directly trains Blazers as true knights. This approach was attempted in Japan but faced strong opposition.

This opposition stemmed from the country's deeply ingrained belief in freedom and democracy.

Heavily influenced by Western ideals, when the League tried to implement knight education, the public protested, claiming it was undemocratic. Ultimately, the initiative was abandoned.

Ryoji and Ikki, one by one, provided their statements to the police.

By the time everything settled down, the evening had arrived.

"Junior Brother, are you alright?"

As Ryoji stepped out of the police car, he saw Senior Sister Touka rushing towards him.

With electromagnetic force enhancing her speed, she quickly reached his side, her face tense behind her glasses as she checked him thoroughly.

"I'm fine, Senior Sister. It was just a minor terrorist incident, not worth using Lightning Flint for."

Ryoji allowed his Senior Sister to examine him while reassuring her.

If not for the sheer number of terrorists and their assault rifles, he wouldn't have needed to use his special ability. He could have subdued them with his swordsmanship alone.

"That's a relief. You always act recklessly, and when I heard you were involved with terrorists, I thought you'd done something crazy again. It scared me..."

Once Senior Sister confirmed Ryoji was unharmed, she let out a sigh of relief and spoke with a reproving tone.

She wasn't particularly worried about Ryoji's safety, knowing that Saikyou Senior Sister was always with him, as she'd been informed by the Director.

Though she had limited interactions with First Senior Sister, having met her only a couple of times during her five years as a disciple of the God of War, she understood that as long as Saikyou Senior Sister was with him, Ryoji's safety was assured.

"Okay, okay, it's my fault." Ryoji raised both hands in surrender.

"Does that guy ever behave so obediently?"

Stella looked at Ryoji in surprise and whispered to Kurogane Ikki next to her.

"He's probably a very special person. I know her too. She's the student president at Hagun Academy, the current strongest expert in the school, and also one of God of War's disciples. They must have a close relationship."

Kurogane Ikki looked at the two from a distance and explained to Stella.

"The strongest at Hagun Academy?"

Hearing this, Stella was slightly taken aback, and then her gaze shifted to Toudou Touka, a look of realization in her eyes.

The Kingdom of Vermillion was a relatively weak nation.

Aside from her father, a C-Rank Blazer, and herself due to her genetic mutation, the strongest Blazers in the country were only three C-Rank knights. If she remained in that country, she wouldn't be able to continue growing stronger.

So, she came to study abroad in Japan, a fellow League member country, with the goal of becoming stronger and evolving into a powerful knight capable of matching the world's strongest Magic Power to protect her country.

"That's the person I'll surpass sooner or later."

Stella watched Toudou Touka converse with others and quietly made up her mind.

If she couldn't surpass the strongest at Hagun Academy, she wouldn't deserve to pursue an even stronger path.

"Senior Sister, I summoned my Spiritual Item (Device) without permission. I won't be punished, will I?"

Ryoji glanced around and saw Shinguuji Kurono and Saikyou Nene conversing in the distance. He quietly inquired with his Senior Sister.

"Don't worry. Before you all engaged with the terrorists, Kurogane Ikki seems to have already contacted the Director to obtain approval for all of you," Senior Sister said, smiling reassuringly.

'That's a relief.'

Although he hadn't had the opportunity to participate in the battle, Kurogane Ikki and the others had already taken care of the logistics. Otherwise, Ryoji would have faced suspension.

'Wait a minute. I was using my family heirloom sword. It has nothing to do with a Spiritual Item (Device). Why would I be suspended?' Ryoji suddenly realized.

It seemed he still had room to improve his shamelessness.

"Touka."

As they were talking, the noblewoman with the parasol approached them.

"The follow-up matters have all been addressed. Nangou San can now return to school and rest."

The Hagun Academy student had been involved in the terrorist attack, so the Hagun Academy Student Council had to intervene and handle the related matters. Touka Senior Sister and Shinguuji Director had arrived for this purpose.

"Junior Brother, you've had a long day. You should head back now. I'll be a little late today."

Senior Sister offered Ryoji some advice before walking towards the police with Kanata.

"By the way, Nangou San."

Before departing, Kanata suddenly paused, turned around, and looked at Ryoji.

"During the terrorist attack, you must have turned off your student handbook, so you haven't seen the message. You can open it now."

She said this while slightly tilting her head, revealing her clear green eyes beneath the wide-brimmed hat, with a meaningful look in them.

Ryoji, though a bit confused, took out his student handbook and powered it on.

When he was changing into a terrorist disguise in the cinema, the experienced legal loli had instructed him to turn off the student handbook, so Ryoji followed her instructions.

As the screen illuminated, a message quickly appeared:

"——Nangou Ryoji contestant, your first battle opponent for the battle selection is: Year 3, Class 2, Totokubara Kanata."
