Chapter 27: Encountering the Mysterious Woman Again
The atmosphere in the room shifted instantly as Mo Yang calmly uttered a single word.
The laughter of the Xuan Sect disciples came to an abrupt halt, replaced by cold, sharp gazes directed at Mo Yang.
Pang Long's expression turned icy. His hand, holding a wine cup, trembled slightly, revealing the intensity of his emotions. He barked, "Kid, what did you just say?"
Mo Yang remained calm, a faint smile curling at the corners of his lips as he looked at Pang Long and said, "What, didn't you hear me? Fine, I'll say it again—I told you to get lost!"
"Very well, this is interesting!" Pang Long's eyes glinted with a cold light. The wine cup in his hand shattered, spilling wine all over the floor.
Xu Xin immediately paled and hurriedly interjected, "Pang Long, you were the one who provoked him first. Are you really planning to start a fight here?"
Pang Long's gaze was icy as he glanced at Mo Yang, then turned to Xu Xin with a sneer. "So, you've broken through to the Earth Mystic Realm. But that just makes this more fun!"
He stood up, glancing sideways at Mo Yang with a cold smile. "Kid, you'd better pray for your own safety. If I run into you on the dueling platform, you might not make it back alive!"
Slap!
As soon as Pang Long finished speaking, a crisp sound echoed through the tavern. No one saw when Mo Yang had moved, not even Pang Long. By the time they realized what had happened, Mo Yang was already standing, his face calm and a faint smile still on his lips. "Are you threatening me?"
"I heard you have a strong physique and overwhelming strength. Is that true?"
Before Mo Yang could finish speaking, his hand shot up again, landing another slap on Pang Long's face.
Xu Xin was stunned, staring at Mo Yang in disbelief.
The entire tavern fell silent. Many patrons, seeing the situation, quickly got up and left, fearing they might get caught in the crossfire.
Only the mysterious woman sitting by the window remained unaffected. She sat there calmly, her jade-like fingers holding a wine cup, sipping elegantly.
"Kid, you're asking for death!" Pang Long, who hadn't expected Mo Yang to strike, was now furious. His eyes widened in rage as he threw a powerful punch at Mo Yang.
However, Mo Yang casually caught the punch mid-air, his smile never wavering. "Is that all?"
With a swift twist of his hand, Pang Long let out a roar of pain, his entire body trembling as he struggled to break free. His wrist was nearly twisted off by Mo Yang's grip.
Witnessing this, Xu Xin was shocked. She had known for a while that Mo Yang had reached the third level of the Earth Mystic Realm, but she had assumed his lack of combat experience would greatly diminish his effectiveness in battle. This scene completely overturned her understanding.
This was Pang Long, known for his overwhelming strength, unmatched among the four sects.
Yet, from what had just happened, it seemed Mo Yang was even stronger. If she hadn't seen it with her own eyes, she wouldn't have believed it.
Pang Long, enduring the intense pain in his wrist, glared at Mo Yang. He tried to sense Mo Yang's cultivation level but found it impossible to discern. This made him even more wary. During their brief exchange, he had felt that Mo Yang's physical strength was even more terrifying than his own.
"Mo Yang, the Third Elder warned us not to cause trouble!" Xu Xin, seeing that Mo Yang seemed ready to continue the fight, quickly whispered a reminder.
Mo Yang, still smiling, gave off an eerie vibe that sent chills down her spine.
She then turned to Pang Long and the other Xuan Sect disciples, her voice cold. "If you really want to fight here, we'll oblige!"
Pang Long's expression was twisted with rage, his eyes filled with undisguised killing intent as he stared at Mo Yang. He then said in a low, menacing voice, "You'd better pray you don't run into me on the dueling platform!"
With a heavy snort, Pang Long and his companions left in anger.
Despite his rough demeanor, Pang Long was cautious. He wasn't afraid of Xu Xin, but Mo Yang was an enigma to him.
Watching the Xuan Sect disciples leave, Mo Yang acted as if nothing had happened, casually calling for the waiter to order more dishes.
"Brother Mo Yang, you're amazing!" Su Fei'er's eyes sparkled as she propped her chin on her hands, staring at Mo Yang in admiration.
"Ah, I just felt like testing the strength of the four sects' so-called geniuses. Tsk tsk, they look big and tough, but they're not much," Mo Yang said dismissively.
Xu Xin gave Mo Yang a complicated look. Perhaps Mo Yang really could bring some surprises to the Lingxu Sect in this martial arts competition.
"Senior Sister, don't look at me with such admiration. I have many talents you haven't seen yet. You'll find out soon enough!"
Xu Xin felt a bit speechless. Mo Yang's words sounded somewhat inappropriate, and she couldn't help but frown. "No matter what, Pang Long is not an easy opponent. If you face him on the dueling platform, don't engage him head-on."
At that moment, the mysterious woman at the table behind them quietly stood up and walked toward the stairs.
The waiter, standing nearby, smiled and approached her. "Miss, you haven't paid yet."
The mysterious woman turned her head and, to everyone's surprise, pointed at Mo Yang. "He'll pay."
Mo Yang, who had been keeping an eye on the mysterious woman, was completely baffled.
What's going on?
Xu Xin and Su Fei'er also turned to look at Mo Yang. Why would the mysterious woman ask Mo Yang to pay for her?
Did they know each other?
But Mo Yang clearly didn't know her. They had only seen her for the first time on their way to Xuantian City.
Before Mo Yang could say anything, the mysterious woman had already descended the stairs.
"Tell me the truth, do you know her?" Xu Xin frowned as she looked at Mo Yang.
Even as she asked, she couldn't make sense of it. The woman's cultivation level was terrifyingly high, clearly a prodigy from some major power. How could she possibly know Mo Yang?
"Uh... maybe she was impressed by my heroic display earlier?" Mo Yang scratched his head, equally confused.
Xu Xin rolled her eyes, deciding not to press further.
After finishing their meal, Mo Yang reluctantly paid for both bills. It wasn't the money that bothered him, but the mystery of why the woman had done that.
As they left the tavern, the sky had already darkened. However, they hadn't gone far when Mo Yang suddenly stopped. A voice echoed in his ears.
"Come out of the city. I need to speak with you."
Mo Yang felt a chill run down his spine. He recognized the voice—it was the mysterious woman's.
"Brother Mo Yang, what are you looking at?" Su Fei'er asked, noticing Mo Yang had stopped and was staring blankly ahead.
"You two go ahead. I want to take a walk by myself," Mo Yang said.
He couldn't figure out why such a powerful figure would take an interest in him. Someone of her level wouldn't care about the little money he had. Perhaps it was the pills, but he needed to find out. He knew there was no escaping someone like her.
"Hmph, are you planning to sneak off and meet her?" Xu Xin snorted.
Mo Yang was taken aback and quickly replied, "Senior Sister, I'm not crazy. I value my life too much to mess with someone like that!"
"Good, you'd better remember that!" Xu Xin said before pulling Su Fei'er along and walking away.
Watching Xu Xin and Su Fei'er disappear into the distance, Mo Yang quietly made his way toward the city gate. He kept looking around but saw no sign of the mysterious woman.
