Chapter 317: All Skills Upgraded
Karsha felt a rush of energy as the system's notification confirmed his achievement. He has finally attained a level many will spend years training for within weeks. His monstrous comprehension speed and the boost from Elexa have made it so he could understand most complex this quite easily. The runes within his sword glowed with an intensity he had never seen before. He could feel the devastating changes that had occurred in the skill.
"Time to test this out," he said, a fierce grin spreading across his face.
He aimed his sword toward a distant mountain range, focusing 10% of his fire essence into the blade. The runes glowed brighter and brighter, the fire essence building to an almost unbearable level.
"One Slash Annihilation!" he shouted, unleashing the attack with all his might.
The arc of fire that erupted from his sword was unlike anything he had ever seen. It was a brilliant crimson, infused with golden streaks and swirling with the strange power of the runes. The attack tore through the air, leaving a trail of devastation in its wake. The space around the fire arc wobbles, twisting like it's about to tear.
The mountains in the distance stood no chance. The attack sliced through them like a hot knife through butter, reducing them to rubble in an instant. The ground shook violently, and the sky lit up with the intense glow of the fire essence.
Karsha watched in awe and shock as the attack continued its destructive path, leveling everything in its way. The sheer power of the skill was breathtaking, and he knew that he had unlocked something truly extraordinary.
"This is just too much," he thought, his eyes blazing with determination. "Would anyone even be able to defend against this? I think this is just too much, I have to tone it down a bit."
Karsha relaxed and looked at the path the attack had carved through the landscape. The whole path was burnt, leaving a trail of utter destruction. "The skill has reached a new height. I wonder what the SSE Level will look like," he mused, gulping at the mere thought.
He was just about to make the clone use the skill when a system message appeared.
< The host is advised to break through to the Semi-Saint stage before attempting to comprehend the SSE Level of the Fire Beam skill >
"Oh, and why is that?" Karsha asked, curiosity piqued.
< Your body is still weak, and your meridians cannot handle the energy channeled into the runes. The next phase of the skill is several times stronger than this phase, so you will have to be careful and not try to comprehend it before you become a Semi-Saint. >
Karsha frowned, absorbing the information. "So, my body and meridians aren't strong enough to handle the energy required for the next level of the skill?"
< Correct. The SSE Level of the Fire Beam skill requires a level of energy manipulation and physical resilience that you currently do not possess. Attempting to channel that much power through your meridians in your current state could result in severe internal damage or even death. >
Karsha nodded, understanding the gravity of the situation. "I see. Then, I need to focus on breaking through to the Semi-Saint stage first. But what about the current state of the skill? Is there anything I can do to enhance it further without reaching the next level?"
< While you cannot fully comprehend the SSE Level of the Fire Beam skill, you can still refine your understanding and control of the current SSS+ Level. Focus on perfecting the integration of the runes with your fire essence. The more precise and controlled your manipulation, the more powerful and efficient your attacks will become. >
Karsha nodded, already formulating a plan. "Got it. I'll work on refining the skill and improving my mana control and capacity. And in the meantime, I'll push toward breaking through to the Semi-Saint stage. Once I'm there, I'll revisit the SSE Level."
< That is a wise approach, host. Your patience and diligence will yield the best results. Remember, true mastery comes from understanding and control, not just raw power. >
Karsha smiled at the system's advice. "You're right. It's not just about having the power, but knowing how to wield it effectively. I'll take my time and ensure I'm fully prepared before advancing further."
With the system finally being helpful for once, Karsha dove headfirst into training. Three months flew by, and every day he noticed improvements in his understanding of the runes. After six months, he decided to take a break and relax in the Rose Garden. He ended up sleeping for three whole weeks. As soon as he woke up, he jumped straight into training the Crescent Ice Strike.
Thanks to his grasp of the runes from the fire beam skill, when he reached SSS mastery of the Crescent Ice Strike, the runes appeared right away, making the next step surprisingly easy. But there was something odd about it. Unlike the fire beam skill, which gained the One Slash Annihilation ability after being upgraded, nothing new seemed to happen when the Crescent Ice Strike hit Tier 20. At least, not at first.
Then something unexpected occurred. Instead of the usual 24 runes appearing, 48 runes showed up, and it took him twice as long to comprehend them. But when he finally understood them, the result left him stunned. Upon reaching SSS+ Level Mastery, the Ice arcs began to resonate with the moon.
Just as the fire beam skill had gained golden streaks, the ice now formed a shape like a half-moon. After some experimentation, Karsha discovered that the damage output had skyrocketed, becoming a hundred times stronger.
The Crescent Ice Strike became several times sharper and more lethal. The skill's second ability, the [Crescent Ring], now had intricate patterns when unleashed. Though different from the rings in Sader's Ice Strike technique, these new rings had a sharpness that allowed Karsha to coat them with both his Golden Aura and Sword Qi after some experimentation.
The most striking change was the last ability, the [Moon Strike]. When Karsha used it, he sensed a foreign energy within it, making it several times stronger. Despite spending an entire month trying to understand this new energy, he couldn't grasp it. By the time he was done practicing, half of his training space was frozen solid. He had to fly miles away to find a new spot to continue training his other skills.
After about eight months of intense training in his Crescent Ice Strike skill, he shifted his focus to the Call of the Storm Skill. This one was tough too, but his previous knowledge of runes came in handy. Though it didn't gain any unique evolution upon reaching Tier 20, the abilities became significantly stronger.
Even though it wasn't a sword-type skill, Karsha wasn't one to stick to the rules. He didn't expect it to surpass the Fire Beam and Crescent Ice Strike, but he was sure it would help him unleash even stronger attacks. When the Call of the Storm skill reached Tier 20, its first ability, Lightning Step, became insanely powerful. Now, by harnessing the lightning in the air, he could practically teleport, shifting the lightning energy around him to move instantly.
This instantaneous movement required him to have Lightning essence. As long as he had that essence, he could keep using it over and over again. The other two abilities also saw improvements, but the last one, [Lightning God Descent], was something else entirely. When he activated it, strange runes he'd never seen before started revolving around him.
Although he hadn't fully comprehended these runes, he could feel them hungrily absorbing lightning energy from the air. It was odd, but the more the runes spun, the stronger he became. Under this strange blessing, his strength and speed increased several times over. In this state, he also felt a deeper connection to the yin-yang lightning.
After what felt like forever, Karsha finally wrapped up training his go-to sword skills. By enhancing his strength and movement with lightning, he could now use his Ice and Fire skills to deal some serious damage. He realized he needed more active lightning-type sword skills, but remembering he had thousands of Tier 5 skill books with him, he just laughed. All sorts of evil combination methods started popping into his mind.
He made a deal: trade a Tier 20 skill book for 100 Tier 5 skill books. While he expected the elders to be greedy, he hadn't anticipated them going overboard. Now, he owed the sect 24 Tier 20 skill books, and each elder 2 Tier 20 skill books. They brought back all kinds of skill books, exceeding his expectations.
Naturally, he only needed about 30 to create a Tier 20 skill book, meaning the remaining 70 were for his use. With the Subspace time difference aiding his skill creation, he planned to craft some crazy new skills once his training was done.

After resting for a few weeks, he jumped back into training, focusing on the Sword Storm skill. Now, he could summon 500,000 swords, each laced with sword aura, and control them with his mind, just like with the Dark Prince Hell Art. He upgraded that too to Tier 20 and achieved SSS+ Mastery. However, after mastering it, Karsha didn't feel like using it. When he asked the system to delete the skill, it informed him that his domain had already integrated it and he would discover its effects later.
Because of this, he spent an entire year mastering all his skills added to the domain to SSS+ level mastery and upgrading them to Tier 20, but he didn't check their effects on the domain just yet. By the time he was done, the only skills left unmastered were Agni Infernal Dominion and Ice Queen Wrath.
The rest, especially Red Eye Tiger, had now become something he wasn't ready for just yet. After resting again for about a month, he upgraded the Agni Infernal Dominion from Tier 13 to Tier 20, and that's when everything turned chaotic.
< Ding! Congratulations, your skill Agni Infernal Dominion has been upgraded to Tier 20 >
< Ding! Your skill Agni Infernal Dominion has evolved to Fire King Dominion >
