The Boundless King: Anime Mania

Chapter 18: Chapter 18: The First Step Toward Godhood

The air in the virtual battlefield was eerily still, the sky stretching infinitely above a vast, empty plain. Aki stood in the middle, rolling his shoulders, feeling the ridiculous strength coursing through his body. He had mastered his foundation, refined his energy, created his own hybrid power, and could probably slap Madara into early retirement.

Yet, even now, he felt something was missing.

He wasn't perfect.

Not yet.

And that's why he was here.

Across from him stood Adam, the first human. His golden hair shimmered under the artificial sun, and his piercing blue eyes glowed with an intensity that seemed to see through existence itself. The man was shirtless, his flawless physique radiating divine power, yet his expression was calm.

"You ready?" Adam asked, cracking his knuckles.

Aki exhaled. "Let's see what makes you the strongest human in history."

And then Adam vanished.

Aki barely had time to react before a fist was already buried into his gut.

BOOM!

The sheer shockwave of the impact shattered the ground, sending ripples through the battlefield. Aki's eyes widened as he was launched backward, skidding across the cracked earth.

Holy shit—

He coughed, standing up as Adam appeared right in front of him again, fist raised.

Aki's instincts screamed, and he twisted his body just in time to avoid a devastating uppercut. His mind raced—Adam wasn't using a technique. This wasn't some flashy martial art.

This was pure, instinctual combat.

Adam wasn't thinking. He wasn't analyzing movements.

He just moved.

Fucking terrifying.

Aki lashed out with a high-speed kick, but Adam had already moved, ducking and weaving through his attacks like he already knew what Aki would do.

And then Aki saw it.

The Eyes of the Lord.

A golden glow flickered in Adam's pupils as if they reflected the very fabric of existence itself.

Aki barely had time to process it before Adam's fist crashed into his ribs.

CRACK!

Aki felt his body get flung through the air like a ragdoll, skipping across the battlefield like a stone on water.

"—Okay, yeah, that hurts." He groaned, wiping his lip.

Adam stood there, waiting. He wasn't rushing him.

No arrogance. No taunts.

Just perfection.

Aki took a deep breath, and his own eyes flickered.

His cross-shaped pupils spun as his vision sharpened to an absurd level.

This was it. This was what he needed.

His heart pounded, and his energy flared out, a swirling mix of chakra and reiryoku, glowing pale purple.

"I see now," Aki murmured, a smirk creeping onto his face.

Adam raised an eyebrow.

Aki rolled his shoulders, his body adapting. The next exchange would be different.

This time, he would see it all.

---

Aki wiped the blood from his lip, his body still humming from the impact. He stared at Adam, who stood across from him, looking like he hadn't even broken a sweat.

This wasn't just some overpowered ability. The Eyes of the Lord weren't predicting Adam's moves anymore. It was like they were responding to him, flawlessly, instantly. Every punch Aki threw was countered with perfect precision, every dodge was turned into a perfect reversal.

Aki clenched his fists. He couldn't let himself get frustrated. He had to adapt. That's what Adam kept saying. The fight wasn't about overpowering him—it was about becoming one with the battle.

"Let's go again, old man," Aki said, his voice steady, even though his body screamed at him to take a break.

Adam smirked, rolling his shoulders with a relaxed air. "You've got spirit. I'll give you that. But you're still too stiff. Too controlled." He moved like a shadow, almost lazy in his actions. "You're thinking too much. You need to let your instincts take over."

Aki growled under his breath. He was thinking too much. Of course. That was the problem. Every time Adam countered him, it felt like his moves were too planned, too deliberate. If he just let his instincts take the wheel, would it be that simple? Could he?

Ael's voice broke through his thoughts, light and teasing. "You're overthinking again, Aki. Just… let go. Trust yourself for once."

Aki glanced up at her in his mind. "It's not that easy, Ael. This guy's faster than anyone I've ever fought. And he's not even trying!"

"You've got this. You just need to stop being such a control freak," Ael laughed. "Remember, you're not a puppet on strings. You're the one holding the reins."

Aki nodded, trying to calm his breathing. He was stronger than this. He had to be. His powers, his experience—he had all the tools. He just had to stop thinking about them so much.

"Alright, let's do this," Aki muttered, his pupils shifting, the cross-shape spinning faster.

Adam tilted his head, as if sensing the change in Aki's aura. "Better. Now let's see if you can actually keep up."

Without warning, Adam disappeared.

Shit!

Aki instinctively dropped low, twisting his body just as Adam's fist whizzed past him. He barely avoided the hit, but his heart raced. He felt it this time—the difference. Adam wasn't just faster. He was fluid. There was no hesitation, no unnecessary movements. It was as if he and the battlefield were one, locked in perfect harmony.

Aki's mind screamed for him to do something.

"Dodge left. Shift right. He'll counter—counter his counter—!"

His body moved before he could even finish the thought. He had no choice. His body was acting on its own.

Adam's fist came again, but this time Aki's own fist shot out, connecting with his opponent's jaw. A clean hit.

The force sent Adam skidding back, his eyes narrowing just slightly.

Aki stepped back, grinning. "Hell yeah. That's what I'm talking about."

"Finally getting it, huh?" Ael's voice echoed in his mind, teasing but full of pride. "About time. Maybe I should start charging you for these lessons."

Aki chuckled, wiping the sweat from his brow. "You're lucky I can't actually charge you for all the times you bug me. But yeah, that felt… good."

Adam wiped his chin, staring at Aki with a new gleam in his eyes. "Not bad. You're learning faster than I expected, but we're not done yet. Not by a long shot."

He grinned widely. "Now, let me show you how it feels to fight like a true god."

Without a moment's notice, Adam's aura exploded outward. The ground beneath them trembled, and Aki felt a wave of oppressive energy flood the battlefield. Adam was no longer holding back.

"Shit," Aki muttered under his breath, his pulse quickening.

Ael's voice was calm, almost amused. "Look at him go. You're in for one hell of a ride, Aki."

Aki clenched his fists. He wasn't about to back down now. He had to match him. He wasn't just training with Adam anymore—he was training himself. This wasn't about being better than anyone else. It was about reaching the next level.

He could do this.

His eyes burned with an intense glow as he activated his Eyes of the Lord once more. The pupils spun faster, a whirlpool of power that seemed to stretch infinitely, creating a dark void behind his gaze.

Adam charged forward, faster than Aki could track.

Aki didn't even think. His body shifted without hesitation, ducking under Adam's punch and countering with a precise strike to his ribs. It was fast—too fast for most people to follow, but Aki's eyes caught every minute detail.

Ael's voice was almost a purr in his head. "There it is, Aki. You're finally moving like you should."

Adam stopped mid-motion, turning his head slowly, a slow smile stretching across his face. "There it is. You're getting close."

Aki stood tall, his heart pounding, but now, he wasn't feeling overwhelmed. His mind was clear, his instincts now in complete control. Every part of him had started syncing together—his powers, his body, his senses.

He was becoming the perfect weapon.

---

"Let's finish this," Aki muttered, feeling the battle shift in his favor
