Chapter 49: Awakening the Hidden Power
The moment Raizen stepped into the underground chamber, a surge of unfamiliar energy pulsed through his veins. The cavernous space before him was unlike anything he had encountered before—walls inscribed with intricate Draconic glyphs, glowing faintly in response to his presence. It was as if the very air carried a whisper of the past, calling out to him.
Liana, standing beside him, scanned the surroundings with a furrowed brow. "These inscriptions… they're ancient. Far older than anything recorded on this planet."
Joran clicked his tongue, gripping his weapon. "And yet, somehow, it reacts to him."
Raizen exhaled slowly, his golden irises flickering with a faint glow. He didn't understand why, but something deep inside him resonated with this place.
He took another step forward, and as soon as his boot pressed against the center of the sigil-etched floor, the chamber rumbled. A pulse of raw, unfiltered energy erupted from the walls, spiraling toward him.
Then came the voice—a deep, ancient call—echoing within his very soul.
"Bloodline recognized. Initiating Draconic Ascendance."
A brilliant light consumed him.
Unlocking the Subspace Ability
Raizen's body froze in place, suspended within the swirling vortex of energy. His mind flooded with a vision—flashes of a great war, towering draconic figures, ships unlike anything he had ever seen, and a world swallowed in flames.
He gasped as his muscles tensed, his very being adapting to the force flowing through him. His Draconic Bloodline had just evolved.
Then, a system notification appeared in his vision.
[New Bloodline Ability Unlocked: Draconic World Subspace]Status: Tier F5 (Upgradeable)
Raizen clenched his fists, feeling a strange new force forming within his core. Instinctively, he focused on the ability—and suddenly, he felt space shift around him.
A small, invisible storage void materialized beside him—one cubic meter in size. It wasn't much, but the possibilities were endless.
Liana's voice snapped him back to reality. "Raizen! Your vitals just spiked! What the hell happened?"
Raizen exhaled, the light fading from his eyes. He turned to her, smirking. "I just gained something useful."
Liana's Warning
Liana approached, eyes narrowed. "This wasn't just any ordinary awakening… Whatever this ability is, it's extremely rare for someone of your power level."
She placed a hand on his shoulder, her voice lowering. "Listen to me, Raizen. This kind of ability? If people find out about it, they'll kill you just to extract it from your blood. You can't trust just anyone with this secret."
Raizen's smirk remained, but there was a seriousness in his eyes. He already knew—power invited danger.
Joran crossed his arms. "So? What's the plan?"
Raizen glanced down at his hand, flexing his fingers as he tested his control over the new ability. "Simple." He turned to them with a sharp grin.
"We get stronger. We prepare. And when the time comes… we make sure no one can take what's ours."
