The Draconic System: Rise of To Ascendance

Chapter 53: Chapter 52: The Weapons Dealer’s Gambit

Chapter 52: The Weapons Dealer's Gambit

The bunker's stale air settled around them as Raizen reviewed the datapad, scanning the coordinates Liana had marked. Among the locations for supplies, one name stood out—Mira Solace.

"A weapons dealer?" Raizen questioned, narrowing his eyes. "What's her connection to House Valen?"

Liana leaned against a stack of old crates, arms crossed. "She used to work for them, developing high-end firearms. But she cut ties a few years ago, disappeared into the underground. She's been selling weapons to anyone who can afford them—mercenaries, resistance fighters, and the occasional gang."

Raizen nodded. "And she's supposed to trust us?"

Liana smirked. "That's the tricky part. Mira doesn't do favors. If we want her weapons, we either pay or do something for her."

The system pulsed.

[New Quest Updated: Negotiation or Force?]

[Objective: Secure a weapons supplier for the base]

Raizen sighed. "Let's see what she wants."

Hours later, they arrived at an abandoned industrial sector on the city's outskirts. The structure was a decayed husk of old war factories, now repurposed into something far more secretive.

Liana knocked on a rusted door three times, paused, then knocked twice more. A small, mechanical eye slid open. "Who the hell are you?" a gruff voice asked.

"Tell Mira that Liana's here," she responded coolly. The panel remained still for a moment before the heavy door groaned open.

Inside, the air smelled of gunpowder and metal. Stacks of modified rifles, explosive cartridges, and prototype energy weapons lined the walls. In the middle of it all, leaning lazily against a workbench, was Mira Solace.

She was tall and lean, dark hair cut short and streaked with silver. Her sharp eyes flicked toward Raizen before settling on Liana. "Didn't expect to see you again. Who's the kid?"

"Potential business partner," Liana said simply.

Mira raised an eyebrow. "Business, huh?" She turned her gaze fully on Raizen. "You don't look like you have the creds to afford what I sell."

Raizen smirked. "I prefer trade."

Mira let out a low chuckle. "That so? What exactly do you think you can offer me?"

The system pulsed.

[Quest Decision: Make an Offer or Accept a Task]

[Available Options: Reveal Draconic Bloodline Potential / Accept Mira's Conditions]

Raizen met Mira's stare, the weight of the decision pressing on him. This was about more than just weapons—it was about leverage, power, and trust.

He had a choice to make. And whatever he chose, it would shape the future of his growing empire.
