The Draconic System: Rise of To Ascendance

Chapter 61: Chapter 60: The Cyborg’s Name

Chapter 60: The Cyborg's Name

Raizen carried the unconscious cyborg through the frigate's dimly lit corridors, her body lighter than he expected. Her frame, despite being partially mechanical, was slender and well-balanced, as if designed for speed and precision.

Liana kept her rifle up, scanning their surroundings. "I still don't like this," she muttered. "For all we know, she could wake up and slit our throats."

Raizen smirked. "If she had the strength, she would've done it already."

Kain walked ahead, leading them toward the ship's infirmary. "Most cyborgs like her were created for combat or espionage. If she was left behind, she might've been part of a bigger operation."

The system pulsed.

[Location Identified: Frigate-Class Medical Bay]

[Status: Partially Functional]

The doors to the medical bay slid open with a sluggish hiss. Inside, faint blue lights flickered, illuminating the metallic examination tables and rusted equipment. Raizen laid the cyborg down gently on one of the tables, her silver hair spilling over the metal surface.

Liana tapped at the ship's interface. "Most of the automated medical functions are fried, but we can stabilize her manually. If we hook her up to a working power source, it might reboot her internal systems."

Raizen's eyes lingered on the woman's delicate yet lethal features. "Do it."

The system pulsed again.

[Initiating Power Transfer…]

[Processing Data…]

[Cyborg Identified: Name – Seraphina]

Raizen raised an eyebrow. "Seraphina, huh?"

The moment her name was spoken, her eyes fluttered open, glowing a soft silver-blue. Her body jerked slightly as her systems restarted, her gaze locking onto Raizen.

"Who…" Her voice was distorted, like a machine struggling to calibrate. "Where… am I?"

Raizen leaned closer. "You're aboard my ship. We found you here, barely alive."

Seraphina blinked, processing his words. Her breathing steadied, though tension still laced her mechanical limbs. "This… ship. It doesn't belong to you."

Raizen chuckled. "It does now."

Liana leaned against the wall, arms crossed. "You gonna tell us who left you here?"

Seraphina's expression darkened. "That information is… classified."

Raizen sighed. "Figures."

The system pulsed once more.

[New Quest Update: Restore Seraphina's Memory]

[Objective: Recover missing data from ship's core]

Raizen smirked. "Looks like we have more digging to do."

Seraphina studied him carefully. For the first time, her posture relaxed slightly. "You saved me… Why?"

Raizen met her gaze, his golden eyes unwavering. "Because I don't leave useful things to rust."

A faint smile ghosted across her lips. "Then I suppose… I owe you."

Kain muttered under his breath. "This is either the best decision we've made… or the worst."

Raizen grinned. "I guess we'll find out soon enough."
