The Greece Antagonist

Chapter 124: Master, Shall We Meet?

Sea of Okeanos.

On the water's surface, the Argo, like a majestic Sea Beast, sliced through the waves not only with great speed but also with exceptional stability.

A thin layer of mist shrouded the ship, bringing with it a veil of obscurity.

Inside the cabin, Jason, who had been trying hard to keep up appearances since they left the shore, immediately showed his true colors upon seeing a gesture from the person opposite him, his shoulders sagging as he collapsed into a relaxed heap and rushed forward in an obsequiously servile manner:

"Brother-in-law, how was my performance? Are you still satisfied?"

"So-so,"

Luo En responded nonchalantly from the shadows, then removed his hood and glanced over with a darkened face.

"Since when did I become your brother-in-law?"

"Don't you know? Prince Absyrtus and I hit it off from the moment we met, found a kinship as if we had known each other for ages, hence we became sworn brothers!"

Jason hastened to reply, appearing exceptionally enthusiastic and familiar.

"And since you married his sister, Princess Medea, becoming his brother-in-law, naturally, you are mine as well!"

After hearing this, Luo En looked at his newly acquired "little brother-in-law" and suddenly his face was filled with speechless lines.

He had met Absyrtus, the son of the King of Colchis, at the Thessaly alliance.

Back then, the naive young prince had been cajoled by the very man in front of him to come forth and acknowledge kinship, thereby validating his affair with Medea, and had indeed become his "little brother-in-law."

Unexpectedly, after that, the young prince Absyrtus got mixed up with Jason and even formed a bond of sworn brotherhood.

As a result, he inadvertently became Jason's "brother-in-law."

Indeed, when it came to forging relationships and friendships, Jason was a first-rate Divine Blood Hero.

Otherwise, he could not have possibly assembled the most splendid lineup in the history of Greek heroes for the Argo Expeditionary Army and embarked on the most famous quest for the Golden Fleece with his ordinary talents.

It seemed that Jason was a bit uncomfortable under Luo En's scrutinizing gaze, so he rubbed his hands together and cautiously suggested, "We are still some distance from the Chaos Sea Domain, why don't you go rest before we reach it? I can handle steering, no problem!"

Luo En looked deeply at the young man with golden hair and inquired in a ghostly tone:

"You abandoned your throne without a second thought, no regrets?"

In truth, this grand display of divine signs by the gods, the forging of an invulnerable Holy Ship, and the assembly of the Argo Expeditionary Army to journey together, could not have only been for the simple purpose of obtaining the Golden Fleece or to help Jason reclaim his throne.

All of these were just veils concealing the true objective within the forest.

Under the guise of the Destiny-ordained "Quest for the Golden Fleece," they dispatched someone to navigate the Argo through the Chaos Sea Domain, seeking power from beyond the Age of Greek Gods, in preparation for the imminent decisive battle...

These were the true objectives of War God Mountain.

So, while the Argo Heroes embarked on this ship, Luo En took advantage of the situation to slip away from the eyes of Zeus and The Three Fates, quietly joining the ranks and setting sail.

To execute this strategy and alter the course and destination, it was nearly impossible to completely bypass Jason the captain.

Therefore, before making an official decision, Luo En subtly informed Jason through an oracle passed in dreams.

Initially, Luo En had thought about what benefits he could offer to entice the down-and-out prince to forsake his struggle for the throne and be the first to sail out in search of a new Divine Era.

Unexpectedly, upon hearing his request, Jason agreed without hesitation, immediately setting the wheels in motion and playing his part without so much as negotiation for terms.

Now, the down-and-out prince, upon hearing Luo En's official inquiry, displayed a rare seriousness and gravity on his usually frivolous face:

"My lord, although I am a worldly man who fears death, I am aware of the chaos our world would become without the order established by War God Mountain; what you are undertaking is far more important than the throne I wish to claim! Moreover, even if I reclaimed the throne, it would be a matter of whether I could truly hold it securely; let's not forget the recent confrontation with the giant in Thessaly."

Hearing the frank response, Luo En was slightly surprised as he looked at Jason, a glimmer of admiration appearing in his eyes.

It had to be said, this young man's talents and strength might not stand out among the fifty Argo Heroes, but his ability to discern the true nature of situations and his clear-headedness when it mattered were indeed rare among a bunch of brawny men.

No wonder he was destined to become the leader of the Argo Expeditionary Army according to his original path.

Then, Jason changed his tone, and a sly glint flickered in his green eyes.

"Besides, it's just the throne of a city-state. If I stick with you, could you possibly let me down? After we complete this world-saving feat and safely return to Greece, let alone one city-state's throne, wouldn't I have my pick of ten or even eight?"

"You clever lad, so that was your cunning plan?"

Luo En snorted lightly and gave Jason a sideways glance, his face not showing anger but rather quite taken with this line of reasoning.

Jason's thoughts and his gamble of his entire fortune and future on this uncertain voyage reveal a genuine belief in War God Mountain and him, the God of Wine.

This is the value of trust.

And it's for this reason that the Argo Heroes onboard willingly left their homes and families behind to shield him on his journey overseas. They chose War God Mountain over the fate ordained by Olympus.
