The hero of DC and Marvel

Chapter 11: Chapter 11

This is probably my best pull yet.

Now, I have the ability to sense ki, the life energy that exists in all living things. On top of that, I have Buddha Eyes, which allow me to see a moment into the future by reading the fluctuations of a creature's soul. By perceiving the radiance of their will, I can predict their actions—essentially granting me a form of precognition.

Atomic's abilities are no joke—he's the third-strongest alien in his universe.

Layla Williams' Chlorokinesis? I'm basically Poison Ivy now.

Frozone's Cryokinesis is a solid power, but I need to be careful since I can only freeze the moisture in the air.

Boros' physical strength is insane—I'm now at planetary surface-level power.

Penny Adiyodi's teleportation is way better than Kurogiri's. As long as I know the location, I can teleport there—even across dimensions or planets.

David Dunn's durability is excellent. The guy survived a train crash without a scratch.

Orihime's healing rejection is probably the best ability in this pool. I won't just heal wounds—I can reject reality itself. If Orihime had trained her powers properly, she would've been outright overpowered. But now that I have them, I can push them to their absolute limit.

Super hearing? Always useful.

Having Bang as a summon is a huge advantage. He can train me in his Water Stream Rock Smashing Fist, which would only make me deadlier in close combat.

The Amulet to Break Any Curse is an unexpected jackpot. Now, I can summon Battle Beast without worrying about his uncontrollable bloodlust. His drive to fight strong opponents stems from an unknown curse that forces him to seek battle to the death. If I break that curse, maybe he'll be more selective about who he fights.

The Pocket Watch lets me go back in time. I don't have a use for it right now, but it's great insurance if I ever need a reset button.

And then, there's Soul Protection. I wasn't exactly sure what that meant, so I asked:

"System, can you explain Soul Protection?"

"Soul Protection is an ability that safeguards your soul from any external influence. Your soul cannot be erased, manipulated, or removed from your body. The only beings capable of affecting your soul are higher-level gods, such as your mother, the One Above All, or the Presence."

"Good to know my soul is safe now."

Ashley walked into my office, dressed in a sleek, well-tailored suit. She was spending her money wisely—good. I was paying her well, but not just her. Everyone at the base received a salary. Church and I had already set up identities for most of them, ensuring they could live normal lives. We made them so solid that even S.H.I.E.L.D. would have trouble spotting the fakes.

"Hello, sir. I have good news," Ashley said.

"Ashley, you know you don't have to call me 'sir.' Just call me Ed," I replied.

"I know," she said. "But since we're both running a company now, I want to keep things professional in front of employees and business partners. I need to get used to calling you by your real name in the right settings."

I raised an eyebrow. "Does it really matter if you just call me Ed all the time?"

"Yes. The more professional we appear, the more opportunities we'll get," she said.

I sighed. "Fine. But when we're alone, just call me Ed."

"Got it, Ed. Now, do you want the good news?"

"Yeah, what is it?" I asked.

She smirked. "The Osborne board members want to sell their shares to us."

A slow grin spread across my face. "Good. Now we can own half of Oscorp."

The reason I wanted control over Oscorp was simple—I needed to keep Norman from going insane. His descent into the Green Goblin was fueled by desperation—he was trying to save his company and keep his military contracts. If I took financial pressure off him, I could prevent that from ever happening.

"Set up a meeting with Osborne. I want to talk to him," I said.

"Consider it done," Ashley replied.

"Anything else?" I asked.

"Yes. Someone from the military is here. They want to buy your bulletproof vests and discuss a potential contract."

I leaned back in my chair. "Alright, send them in."

Ashley nodded, walked to the door, and opened it. General Ross stepped inside, making his way toward my desk before taking a seat.

"Hello, Mr. Valtheris. I'm General Ross. I'm here to discuss a contract regarding your bulletproof vests," he said.

"I'm happy to sell my bulletproof vests to the government, and I'm open to discussing a contract," I replied.

"That's good to hear," Ross said. "The Army, however, would also like you to develop stronger body armor that can withstand heavy-caliber bullets—and more powerful weapons."

I immediately shook my head. "I can improve the body armor for the Army, but I will not make weapons for you."

Ross frowned slightly. "I'm sure a man of your intelligence could create some powerful weapons for us."

"I don't like weapons. If you need them, go talk to Tony Stark. What I am willing to do is develop better armor, reinforce your vehicles, and even create medical technology to improve soldier survival rates or evacuate them faster from battlefields. But I will not make weapons."

Ross leaned forward. "Everything you just listed proves you're a genius. Imagine what your weapons could do—how they could protect our soldiers in combat."

I folded my arms. "Yes, I'm a genius. That also means I've thought about the consequences of my work. The weapons I create could just as easily take lives. And let's be real—the government isn't exactly clean. Some of my weapons would end up in the wrong hands, possibly even in terrorist organizations. I refuse to have that blood on my hands."

Ross sighed. "I'll admit, there's corruption. But I promise you, I'd do everything in my power to ensure your weapons don't fall into the wrong hands."

I shook my head again. "Sorry, General. This is my belief, and I won't compromise on it."

Ross exhaled sharply, then nodded. "Fine. I can respect a man who stands by his principles. But I do have one more request—could you upgrade your non-lethal night-night gun for us?"

I narrowed my eyes. "Why? It's already strong enough to knock a human out for hours."

Ross met my gaze. "Because I'm not hunting a regular human. This target is extremely dangerous—and superpowered."

I sat there, thinking. So, he couldn't convince me to make weapons. Instead, he wants my non-lethal tech—probably to use against Bruce Banner. He must be planning something for the Hulk. If that's the case, I need to get to Bruce first, before the government causes him even more problems.

After a moment, I nodded. "I can do that, General."

Ross smirked. "Good. I'll have the contracts ready later this week."

I nodded as he stood up and left the office.

I turned to Ashley.

"Okay, let me know when the meeting is set. I need to get to Bruce before General Ross does something reckless," I said, getting up.

Ashley raised an eyebrow. "Who's Bruce?"

"A brilliant scientist who had an accident that turned him into a monster," I replied.

She stared at me for a moment before nodding. "Alright, I'll handle the meeting and make sure we secure half of Oscorp."

"Thanks" I said before teleporting back to the base.

Appearing in my room, I grabbed my suit and put it on. "Church," I called out.

He materialized instantly. "Hey, Ed. What's up?"

"I need Bruce's location. Where is he right now?"

"Still in Jamaica, in a small house," Church informed me.

"Tell Anissa to meet me at the Ground Bridge," I instructed.

"Got it," Church said before vanishing.

I made my way to the Ground Bridge, pulling out the Amulet to Break Any Curse from my pocket. It had a white stone set in silver, hanging from a simple string.

I planned to summon Battle Beast—even though Anissa and I were strong, I wasn't taking any chances with the Hulk.

"System, summon Battle Beast," I commanded.

A bright flash filled the room, and when it faded, he stood before me.

"Hello, my name is Edward, but you can call me Ed. Can you tell me what happened in your world and what it felt like coming here?" I asked.

He studied me before speaking. "My name is Thokk, though others call me Battle Beast. I died fighting a powerful Viltrumite. We battled for days. After I fell, I woke in a white void where a voice asked me if I wanted to live again in a new world, with even stronger opponents. I said yes, and now I'm here."

"Well, there are plenty of strong opponents here. And I know you were cursed," I said.

His eyes narrowed slightly.

"The reason you constantly seek battle is because of that curse," I continued. "I can help you break it—all you have to do is wear this amulet."

I held out the Amulet to Break Any Curse, waiting for him to take it. He hesitated but eventually reached for it. The moment he put it on, the white stone turned black and shattered.

Thokk's eyes widened. "The bloodlust… it's gone. The constant need to fight… I don't feel it anymore. Hah! I am in your debt, Ed."

"Glad to help. And I could use your strength for a mission. There's a chance we'll encounter a monster."

A grin spread across his face. "A monster? That sounds interesting."

"It's just a possibility. My real goal is to recruit him, not fight him. So don't do anything to provoke him."

Thokk exhaled but nodded. "Fine."

Just then, Anissa walked in and immediately tensed at the sight of Battle Beast.

"Relax," I reassured her. "He's on our side now."

She gave me a skeptical look before sighing. "Alright. But you summoned him and asked me to come along—just how dangerous is this mission?"

"Depends," I admitted. "If things go well, no danger at all. But if things go wrong, well… we might be fighting the Hulk."

Anissa's eyes widened slightly, but she nodded. "Alright, let's do this."

The Ground Bridge powered up, opening a portal. We stepped through and emerged inside Bruce Banner's house. It was small, barely furnished—just a couch, a few books, no TV, no pictures.

Bruce sat on the couch, startled by our sudden arrival. "Who are you, and how did you just do that?"

I took a step forward. "Bruce Banner, we're a superhero team. My name is Arsenal, and I'm here to offer you something."

He looked wary. "If this is some pitch to be a superhero, I'm not interested."

I shook my head. "That's fine. I'm not here to make you a hero. I want you to be one of my scientists."

Bruce blinked. "You… have scientists?"

"Of course. Not all members of my team are fighters," I said.

He frowned. "I appreciate the offer, but I don't think that's a good idea."

"You haven't even heard the benefits yet," I pointed out.

Bruce sighed. "Alright. What are the benefits?"

I smirked. "For one, our base is completely secret—no government knows about it. That means you won't have to constantly look over your shoulder. Two, it's safe. You won't have to transform into the Hulk just to survive. And three, you'll actually be able to use your genius to benefit the world instead of wasting it while running. I know you want to help people, Bruce."

Bruce exhaled, rubbing his temples. He got up and walked toward me. "Promise me you will never force me to turn into the Hulk."

I met his gaze. "I promise. But I do think you should try to communicate with him."

Bruce scoffed. "Communicate? He's a monster. I doubt he can hold an intelligent conversation."

I folded my arms. "That's because you've probably never truly tried. Think about it—when he first came into existence, he was suddenly thrown into a world of chaos. People were screaming, shooting at him. He had no choice but to fight back. And then, some man spent his entire career trying to kill him.

Bruce stiffened. "Kill him?"

"Yes. Think about it—what happens to him when you try to cure yourself? He's a separate life, Bruce. A new being who barely had a chance to exist. And all he's ever done is fight and run away. If I were in his place, I'd be furious with you too."

Silence. Bruce was deep in thought, processing everything I said.

I took a step closer. "We have an advanced lab at our base. If you join us, maybe you can find a way to communicate with him. Understand him."

Bruce took a deep breath, then nodded. "Okay… I'll join you."

The Ground Bridge powered up again, and together, we stepped through—arriving back at the base.

We arrived back at the base, and Church materialized beside us.

"So, no fight broke out? I guess Tex won the bet," Church said.

I ignored his comment and gestured toward Bruce and Battle Beast. "This is Bruce. He's going to be our new scientist. And this is Battle Beast, our newest teammate. Show them around the base."

Bruce looked at Church curiously. "Is that… an AI?"

I smirked. "Yeah. I'm surprised that surprises you, considering there's a giant talking cat standing right next to you."

Bruce glanced at Battle Beast. "I just assumed he was a mutant."

"Nope. He's an alien," I corrected.

Bruce's eyes widened. "An alien?"

"Yeah. And he's not the only one. Anissa's an alien too," I added.

Bruce turned to look at Anissa, even more surprised. "You have aliens on your team?"

"Yep. And honestly, that's not even the strangest thing here. You'll see for yourself during the tour," I said.

With that, Church led Battle Beast and Bruce away, leaving Anissa behind. She stayed put, arms crossed, watching me closely.

"Are you sure summoning Battle Beast was a good idea? In my world, he was a vicious warrior," she said, concern evident in her voice.

I nodded. "I get why you're worried, but he's fine now. With his curse broken, he won't seek out fights just for the sake of it. Besides, when the time comes, we're going to need him. This world will be invaded one day."

She frowned. You must have some doubts."

I sighed. "Look, if it really bothers you, just keep an eye on him. But I don't think he's a bad guy. He did liberate his planet and worked with the Coalition of Planets to help other worlds."

Anissa scoffed. "The only reason he worked with them was to fight strong warriors."

"True. But even then, he still did a lot of good—while he was cursed. Now that he's free of it, I think he'll be more… balanced."

She studied me for a moment, then sighed. "Fine. I'll trust your judgment. But I will keep an eye on him."

I chuckled. "Do whatever you need to put your mind at ease. I have some business to attend to."

She nodded and walked off. Since I'm already in my hero outfit, might as well start being a hero, Before that I need to assimilate powers.

"System, assimilate powers."

This time, there was no pain—just a warm sensation spreading through my body. Once it faded, I teleported to New York, floating over the city.

I didn't need to stay here—Annie and Peter had it covered. Actually, I didn't even need to stay in one city. I had the power to fly anywhere in the world and help where I was needed.

And what better place to start than Gotham?

Alright, let's get to work.

I shot forward, heading straight for Gotham.

Eliora's POV

I sat in a golden room, resting on my throne, watching my son. Ed had come a long way.

"So, he's finally being a hero? About time," a female voice remarked.

"You can't blame him for taking his time," a second voice responded. "He wanted to make sure his team was safe and that he was prepared."

"Yeah, yeah, whatever. When I started out, I jumped straight into hero work."

"And how much danger did you get into because you weren't prepared?" the second voice interjected.

"Pfft. Nothing I couldn't handle," the first voice shot back.

"You nearly died every time," the second voice countered.

"Nearly. But I'm still here, aren't I?"

I sighed, turning to look at my daughters—Vaelthrya and Thaldris. When I told them I had adopted a new son and sent him to the DC and Marvel universes, they were intrigued. Now, they were watching his progress just as intently as I was.

"Everyone starts their journey differently," I said.

Thaldris huffed. "I know, but watching him set things up was boring."

Vaelthrya smirked. "I actually liked that he took his time. He helped people, trained properly, and didn't let his 'Gacha system' make him overconfident. He knew he needed to build both himself and his team."

Thaldris rolled her eyes. "Whatever. He's still going to have trouble. This world is only going to get more dangerous from here on out."

Vaelthrya nodded. "True. Things will get worse."

I smiled. "And I think he can handle it. He's proven that he's not hot-headed and thinks before he acts. He knows his weaknesses and surrounds himself with people who can cover for them—like recruiting Bruce as his scientist. He's being smart about this."

Thaldris leaned back. "We'll see."

Vaelthrya smirked. "Yeah… we will."

Ed POV

Gotham didn't have much crime during the day—mainly because of All Might. Ever since he regained his full power, he had been spending a lot of time here. He wasn't just stopping criminals; with Church's help, he had taken down a lot of corrupt officials as well.

Because in Gotham, crime wasn't the only problem—the higher-ups were just as corrupt as the criminals in the streets. All Might had even managed to put several supervillains away.

The people of Gotham had given him a title: The Symbol of Peace—at least during the day.

Still, even with his efforts, there was always some crime left for me.

By midday, I had stopped three muggings and a bank robbery. After that, I moved on to other cities, doing almost the same thing—stopping crime wherever I found it. But I didn't limit myself to just cities.

I went to other countries, too.

If there were warlords terrorizing people, I stopped them and took them to jail.

If a country was suffering from famine, I brought them food.

If they needed clean water, I built wells and used my powers to make it rain.

I even dealt with groups that hated mutants—and made sure they paid for their crimes. They all ended up in jail, with broken bones to remind them never to try it again. More importantly, I ensured that the mutants they had been attacking were safe and got home without harm.

I did this all day.

By the time I returned to the base, I was exhausted. But before heading to bed, there was one more thing I needed to do.

One more summon.

I walked into the training room and gave the command.

"System, summon Bang."

A bright light flashed, and in an instant, he appeared before me.

The old martial artist looked around before settling his gaze on me.

"Hello. My name is Edward, but you can call me Ed. What was your last memory before arriving here? and what it felt like coming here?"

Bang stroked his beard thoughtfully. "My name is Bang. In my world, I was a hero. But I'm pretty sure I died at the hands of that being… 'God.' Can't say for sure what it was, but it was strong. Then, I woke up in a white void. Something spoke to me and asked if I wanted to live again in a new world—to be a hero once more. I said yes… and now, here I am."

I nodded. "I'm glad to have you here. We need more heroes. And I know you're an expert martial arts teacher—I'd like you to train me and some others in your techniques."

Bang smiled. "I'd be happy to teach anyone willing to learn."

"That's good. Because I think your skills will be very useful for someone I know. He's young, but he's a great hero."

Bang raised an eyebrow. "If you speak highly of him, then I'm interested in meeting him. I can tell you're strong… and you have martial arts experience of your own."

I nodded. "I do know a few techniques. But before I get someone to show you to your room, I need to explain this world to you."

Bang folded his arms. "Go ahead."

"This world is dangerous. There are supervillains, people with advanced technology, and secret evil organizations hidden within the government. And soon… aliens will invade Earth."

Bang's eyes narrowed. "Do monsters attack here as well?"

I shook my head. "No. It's mostly supervillains, actual monsters are pretty rare."

Bang nodded. "Interesting. Anything else I should know?"

"Yes. Gods and magic exist in this world. And we have highly advanced technology."

Bang let out a low chuckle. "Hmph. This world isn't too different from mine, then."

I smirked. "In some ways, yeah."

Then, I remembered something.

Reaching into my inventory, I pulled out the last bottle of the Fountain of Youth.

"This will restore you to your prime," I said. "Drink every last drop."

Bang took the bottle without hesitation and drank it all in one go.

A moment later, his body began to glow.

It was like watching time rewind—his wrinkles smoothed out, his muscles tightened, and his body became lean and powerful once more. The process took about thirty minutes, but when it was over, he looked down at his hands, flexing them with a satisfied grin.

"I forgot how good it feels to be young again," Bang murmured.

I chuckled. "Glad to hear it. Now, let me call Church—he'll show you to your living quarters so you can rest."

As Bang followed Church out of the room, I let out a deep breath.

Tomorrow was going to be another long day.

But for now, I needed sleep
