The Insights of the Gods, Deducing the Forbidden Spells at Hogwarts

Chapter 35: Chapter 35: Hermione: "The Wizarding World Is Full of Talented People"

"Oh, listen, my dear little wizard,"

"For a great wandmaker, it is absolutely unacceptable to let defective wands circulate in the market."

"Selling such wands would damage my conscience and my reputation."

"I will never allow it."

Ollivander declared righteously.

"I…"

Charlie had just opened his mouth to speak

Only to see that Ollivander had already turned away to select a wand for him.

"Your handsome appearance must suit this one perfectly."

Ollivander took out a worn-looking box from the shelves.

"Maple wood, eleven and one-quarter inches, quite flexible, with a unicorn hair core."

"Try it, I'm sure it's a perfect match for you."

Without giving Charlie a chance to refuse, Ollivander handed him the wand directly.

Charlie had wanted to say more, but when he saw the determined look in Ollivander's eyes,

He decided to let it go.

Fine.

Might as well try it.

He held the wand, inspecting it briefly.

Then, he clicked his tongue.

"What is it, my little wizard? Does it not feel right?"

Ollivander immediately noticed the change in Charlie's expression.

"Oh, no, it just has a slight flaw."

Charlie stated honestly.

"A flaw?"

Ollivander's eyebrows shot up.

A hint of irritation flashed across his wrinkled, thin face.

This little brat...

He dares to critique my craftsmanship?

And to think I was just about to give him a wand for free.

Well, he's certainly not getting that lucky now.

Charlie ignored his reaction.

Having already grasped the principles and techniques of wand-making, he was practically a half-trained wandmaster himself.

"With this level of curvature, using maple as the core material will disrupt the flow of magic."

"You could try adjusting the bend slightly."

Charlie spoke out of respect for craftsmanship.

Ollivander's frown deepened.

"Young wizard, you are being exceedingly rude."

His tone had grown unfriendly.

Arrogant brat.

"Leave, leave, leave! I do not serve those who don't know their place."

Ollivander was getting genuinely annoyed.

At that moment

The sound of the shop door opening broke the tense atmosphere.

"Hello."

A young girl's voice rang out.

She had golden-brown hair and delicate features,

Looking like a porcelain doll.

Her frame was small and slender.

"Oh, Miss Granger! The wand you ordered earlier has arrived."

"Please wait a moment while I fetch it for you."

Ollivander immediately switched back into business mode.

Hermione had previously bought a wand from him.

And she had also pre-ordered other wands.

"Hello, my name is Hermione."

Hermione nodded toward Charlie, graceful and polite.

Charlie was momentarily stunned.

Hermione.

What a coincidence.

To think he would run into her here.

Wasn't it still a while before the start of term?

Why was she already out shopping early?

Charlie had no idea that Hermione had actually contacted Hogwarts professors long ago,

Getting an early introduction to magic and the wizarding world.

Now, as she and her parents were on vacation, she took the opportunity to shop in Diagon Alley.

Last time she was here, Professor McGonagall had personally brought her.

"Hello, I'm Charlie."

Charlie also nodded politely.

"Oh, for Merlin's sake! Little wizard, why are you still here? I don't welcome you!"

Ollivander grumbled as he rummaged through the shop, searching for a wand.

He was digging through boxes, still scolding Charlie as he went.

Charlie, seeing Hermione's curious gaze,

Could only shrug helplessly, an innocent bystander in the situation.

"I overheard you outside just now," Hermione spoke softly,

"You said that adjusting the wand's curvature would help channel magic more efficiently?"

There was genuine interest in her voice.

She was a true academic

Diligent.

Talented.

Endlessly curious about everything.

"Sort of," Charlie replied cautiously.

He was afraid that if he sounded too confident, Ollivander would throw him out on the spot.

"Can I try?"

Hermione's curiosity was piqued.

"Go ahead."

Charlie gestured that it wasn't his decision to make.

Hermione smiled slightly,

Then playfully blinked before picking up the wand.

"Lumos."

At once, a small halo of light appeared at the wand's tip.

Charlie stepped beside her,

Grasped the wand directly,

And slightly straightened its curvature.

"Try again."

Hermione froze.

That's it?

That's how he's adjusting the curvature?

Seriously?

I actually believed him for a moment and wanted to try it myself.

No wonder Ollivander was mad.

She gave Charlie a weird look,

Finding him slightly exasperating.

"Go on, try it," Charlie urged.

"Alright..."

Hermione pursed her lips,

Not entirely convinced.

"Lumos."

She cast the spell again.

This time, the wand's tip flared with a dazzling brightness

Much stronger than before.

"See?"

Charlie let go of the wand and stepped back.

Hermione held the wand up, watching as the glow gradually faded.

For a moment, she was speechless.

Was that real?

The effect actually changed?

She had performed both spells herself

That variable remained constant.

So the test results were accurate.

Hermione cast Charlie a strange glance,

Only to find that he didn't seem to care at all.

Then she looked down at the wand in her hand again.

"Let me try once more."

She made up her mind.

"Lumos."

Another illumination charm.

This time, the result was the same as her first attempt

A faint, flickering glow,

Like an unsteady candle flame.

The only difference?

Charlie wasn't holding the wand to straighten it.

Now Hermione began to waver.

As someone who firmly believed in logic and truth,

She trusted only what she could test for herself.

And the results were undeniable

Simply straightening the wand had significantly increased its power.

This Charlie guy...

He's about my age, right?

But he already understands wand craftsmanship this well?

The wizarding world...

Truly full of talented people.
