Chapter 22: Chapter 22: The Bloodfang Sect's Revenge (Or Lack Thereof)
The Bloodfang Sect was in shambles.
Their so-called elite strike force had been beaten, flicked, and humiliated by Chan Li without him even lifting a finger properly.
Back in the Bloodfang Sect headquarters, Sect Master Wu Hong sat in his grand throne, his face red with rage and embarrassment. His once-mighty disciples had returned, some missing teeth, others covered in bruises, and their leader, Scarface, still drooling on himself from the head injury.
Wu Hong slammed his fist on the armrest.
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN ONE MAN DEFEATED ALL OF YOU?!"
One disciple trembled. "S-Sect Master! H-He didn't even move much! He just flicked his fingers and"
Wu Hong growled. "You're telling me… one man TOYED with my entire force like they were cabbage leaves in a storm?!"
The disciples nodded miserably.
The sect master's face twitched.
"This Heavenly Mystical Sect dares to humiliate us?! If you weaklings can't handle him… I WILL!"
He turned to his two trusted elders, both at the Nascent Soul stage.
"Elder Fang! Elder Bai! You will accompany me. We will CRUSH this so-called sect!"
The two elders exchanged looks.
Elder Fang sighed, "Sect Master, maybe we should reconsider"
Wu Hong's aura flared. "NO! NO MORE HUMILIATION! I SHALL GO MYSELF!"
Meanwhile, at the Heavenly Mystical Sect…
Chan Li was lounging under a tree, enjoying a cup of peach blossom tea, when his disciples rushed in, panicked.
Yan Rui gasped for breath. "Master! The Bloodfang Sect Master is coming himself! He's bringing two Nascent Soul elders!"
Xie Yun clenched his fists. "Master! This is serious! They have years of cultivation experience! They're not like those weaklings from before!"
Chan Li took a slow sip of his tea.
"Oh? Finally, someone strong enough to last more than five seconds?"
His disciples stared.
Yan Rui stammered. "M-Master, why are you so calm? This is their full retaliation!"
Chan Li stood up, stretching lazily.
"Relax. It's been a while since I had a proper warm-up."
His disciples exchanged nervous glances.
The Arrival of the Bloodfang Sect Master
Wu Hong and his two Nascent Soul elders descended onto the mountain, their auras shaking the ground as they approached.
Wu Hong pointed at the sect gates, his voice like thunder.
"HEAVENLY MYSTICAL SECT! YOU HAVE DISGRACED MY BLOODFANG SECT! COME OUT AND FACE YOUR DEATH!"
Silence.
Wu Hong waited.
Still silence.
"...Did they run?" Elder Bai whispered.
Then, the doors creaked open.
Out stepped Chan Li, alone.
His hands were still behind his back, his face showing zero concern.
He looked at them calmly, then at the sky.
"Oh, you finally made it? Took your time."
Wu Hong's veins bulged. "YOU!"
Elder Fang stepped forward, his eyes gleaming.
"Sect Master, let me handle this."
He flicked his sleeve, and a storm of sword energy shot toward Chan Li.
Chan Li didn't move.
Instead, he casually flicked his sleeve in return.
BOOM!
Elder Fang's attack instantly shattered.
Then
BAM!
Elder Fang was blasted off his feet, rolling across the ground like a potato.
Wu Hong and Elder Bai froze.
The Bloodfang disciples stared in horror.
Chan Li tilted his head. "That was disappointing."
Elder Fang groaned in pain, unable to get up.
Wu Hong's hands trembled.
"T-That was a Nascent Soul elder… defeated with a single flick?"
Elder Bai stepped forward cautiously.
"Sect Master, we should retreat"
Wu Hong growled. "RETREAT?! OUR REPUTATION IS ON THE LINE!"
He drew his sword, his cultivation power surging.
"I, Wu Hong, shall"
Before he could finish, Chan Li raised a finger.
And then…
He flicked another pebble.
BAM!
The pebble hit Wu Hong's forehead.
His eyes rolled back.
His body stiffened.
Then
He collapsed face-first.
Dead silence.
The remaining Bloodfang disciples watched in horror.
Yan Rui whispered, "Did Master just… one-shot a Nascent Soul sect master with a pebble?"
Xie Yun nodded slowly. "Yes. Yes, he did."
Chan Li turned to Elder Bai, the last one standing.
He smiled.
"Still want to fight?"
Elder Bai immediately bowed.
"NOPE! I surrender!"
He grabbed Wu Hong's unconscious body and ran for his life, leaving Elder Fang rolling on the ground.
The remaining Bloodfang disciples hesitated
Then they all ran away too.
The entire Bloodfang Sect's so-called revenge mission had ended in total disaster.
Aftermath. Back at the Heavenly Mystical Sect, the disciples were still in shock.
Yan Rui rubbed her temples. "Master, you didn't even take them seriously, did you?"
Chan Li shrugged.
"Why should I? They were weak."
Xie Yun sighed. "Master… if you're this strong, why did you even start a sect?"
Chan Li smirked.
"Because… it's fun to watch fools underestimate me."
His disciples sighed.
Meanwhile, far away, Elder Bai dragged Wu Hong's unconscious body back to their sect.
The remaining elders stared at them.
One asked, "So… how did it go?"
Elder Bai shook his head.
"Don't ask. Just… don't ask."
And thus, the Bloodfang Sect never bothered them again.
