The Master Programmer

Chapter 53: To Hold Back and Not to Hold Back 1

— Back at Veronica's House — Jason unlocked the front door quietly, exhaustion weighing on his shoulders after another grueling day. This day was grueling for all the right reasons though. He was tired, but he was genuinely happy with his tiredness. As he stepped into the dimly lit living room, the sight before him rooted him in place. Veronica lay curled up on the sofa, her soft breaths the only sound in the silent house. She was breathtaking. Her nightgown clung to her form, accentuating her curves in a way that made Jason's pulse quicken. Her long, dark hair spilt over the cushions like ink and it framed her serene, beautiful face in a way that honestly would have made any man kneel down in prostration. Her soft-looking lips were slightly parted, her expression a picture of contentment that made Jason wonder just how incredible her dream was at that moment. What would it take for him to be a part of her dream? Was she dreaming about him perhaps? Seeing her lying like that, Jason couldn't help but imagine waking up next to such a beautiful woman, and his breath hitched. For a moment, he forgot how to move just taking it all in... "Veronica?" he murmured, the word escaping his lips before he could think. He was trying to check if she was still awake. If she was, then he would get her to go to bed, if she wasn't then… Maybe he would have to carry her to bed. Jason waited for a moment, but after a few of them, he sighed. There was no answer. She remained still, her only response a faint mumble as her lips quirked into a soft smile. Jason shook his head, his internal dialogue wrestling between admiration and restraint. He had not heard what she was mumbling about but it was clear to Jason that she was happy, at least in her dream. She pushed herself so hard and took care of him without wanting anything back. What a great woman. Sometimes he felt like he didn't deserve her. He couldn't help but sigh when he thought of this. If she's happy in her dream, then that's fine. He didn't want to wake her up. Maybe that would mean that she would stay happy because of him. The thought lit a flicker of pride in his chest. But his self-discipline snapped back, reminding him of his priorities. He could not do anything untoward to her. He had to prove his worth and make her fall for him based on his masculinity work ethic and success. This wasn't the time to lose control and stare at her too much. Time was not standing still, and he needed to go to sleep so that he could wake up tomorrow and attack the day as he always did. Approaching her, Jason caught the faint, sweet scent of her hair and body. It was intoxicating, almost dangerous, and he found his heart racing. What the hell, bro! Control your Cock! Jason hesitated before leaning down, gently placing a hand on her shoulder. "Veronica," he said again, his voice barely above a whisper. He was saying this just as a final check, but in actuality, he genuinely hoped she wouldn't wake up. After all, that would give him the excuse to hold her in his arms. He was shamelessly wishing to do that kind of thing, yes of course! How could he resist? She was incredible! And he was attracted to her. How could he not be someone who wanted to be around her all the time? She shifted slightly, murmuring something incoherent, but her peaceful demeanour remained undisturbed and her smile was brighter than before. Jason chuckled under his breath. What kind of dream was she having for her to mention his name in it? Carefully, Jason slipped his arms under her. He lifted her effortlessly, noting the softness of her skin against his own. And she smelled so good! Jason was lucky that he had been taking care of himself and he had made sure to not have any alcohol or vomit smell on his body. This meant that he could have a good long sniff at her, like the dog of a man he was. What a disgusting thought. Jason also noticed something else at that moment. Despite her voluptuous form, she felt light, almost fragile. So interesting... and the way her dress moved around and vibrated due to the meaty flesh that was hidden underneath... His heart thudded in his chest, but he kept his breathing steady. "Control yourself," he muttered. "If you want something real, you don't ruin it with impulsive actions." Carrying her upstairs, Jason entered her room for the first time, and when he truly saw all of it he sighed in complication. The space surprised him. It was sparse, her bed large but empty, the walls devoid of any personal touches. A pang of sadness tugged at him. Why does it feel like she's been waiting for something, or someone, to fill this space? No wonder she didn't sleep at home. He laid her gently on the bed and pulled the covers over her, thereafter fixing her hair beside her like some responsible father. But he didn't leave, his eyes wandering over her form in the darkened room. What the hell was he doing? Stop being a creeper! Jason sighed once again as he gazed at her face, particularly her soft mouth. For a moment, he simply watched her sleep, his resolve hardening. "Rest well," he whispered. "You deserve it." Closing the door softly behind him, Jason descended the stairs, his mind still lingering on Veronica. And then he thought of something and opened up his panel, only to see something incredible. |———————————— || Master Programmer System || Stats | Missions | Items | Store | ————— Your Current Missions: —> Make your Sexy Boss Fall For You (40% done) —> Take Revenge on the Grumpy Middle-Aged Landlord (30% done) —> Take Revenge on the Goons (88% done) —> Get Your First Subordinate! He might have managed to get a kiss by now, or maybe he was holding hands like some nerd. Whatever it was, Jason hoped the boy would get the best out of the situation. When he turned his mind back to Veronica, looking upstairs, he couldn't help but smile as he raised an eyebrow. "Was she awake the whole time?" he wondered aloud. A chuckle escaped him. Well, if she was, Jason was glad he did the right thing. Sometimes the most aggressive thing a man can do is hold back. Women were weird like that. Maybe it was the gentleness with which he carried her, or maybe it was the words he had said to himself… It was probably both things. Whatever it was, he would know for sure tomorrow morning. That was if she even showed her face. Jason poured himself a glass of water, his thoughts drifting to Veronica's body and then his blood pumping yet again to those regions. Thinking about this, he somehow came to think about Isabella, someone who was very capable and willing to take care of him, and had been for all this time. It had been a while since he'd heard from her. Their connection was… electric, even though it was a bit complicated since there was an aspect of dirty play in it. Opening up his phone, Jason smirked when he saw that there were no texts today. She liked to text him goodnight every night and sometimes she would even send him pictures, just as a way to give him something to think about. But today, Jason was not seeing anything from her. Maybe she had fallen asleep? No. She was not allowed to forget about him. Jason dialled her number. The line rang, and just as he prepared to hear her familiar voice, a man answered instead. "Hello?" Jason frowned when he heard this, but right before he could speak, the man interrupted him, probably talking to someone else in his surroundings. "You'll have to excuse me as I take this call." "Oh, it's okay Mr Troy. I'll be absolutely fine as long as you leave me with this wonderful company." Jason remained silent, overhearing the sound of women giggling in the background as another person responded and the man on the phone chuckled, moving away to a quieter area. When things finally got quiet, Jason finally got a chance to talk. "Who's this?" Jason asked, his tone sharp. The man chuckled, a smug, condescending sound. "Who the hell are you? Calling my new girl's phone?" New girl? Was he talking about Isabella? How could she be anyone else's new girl?! She was his girl. Jason's eyes narrowed. "What are you talking about? Put Isabella on, I need to speak to her." "She's not coming back," the man said with a laugh, clearly amused by all that was happening. "Her dad sold her to me. You must be her boyfriend, right? Well, you're her ex-boyfriend now. She's mine from here onwards. Sorry, little boy." Jason gripped the glass tighter, a crack forming under the pressure. "Where is she?" he demanded, his voice low and dangerous. "Oh, you want to see her? Fine. Come to the Dragon Gambling Ring on Third Street. But if you show up, you'd better come with a million dollars. Or else… be ready to watch your girl serve me, boy." Jason gritted his teeth and just before he could say anything else, he heard the man talk. "I'll give you 45 minutes. Oh and if you bring the cops, you'll never see her again. Come alone, boy. You understand." *Beep! Beep! Beep!* The line went dead. Jason's hand trembled as the shattered glass fell to the floor, his mind racing. Isabella was in danger. She needed him. Jason did not even hesitate, storming out of the house, hailing the first taxi he saw. As the car sped through the city streets, his mind worked furiously. He wasn't prepared for a confrontation. He wasn't a fighter, at least not yet. All he had was a strong body. But he had a method to become a fighter. And that was all dependent on him getting those three idiots to break.
