The One Who Writes Existence

Chapter 10: The Decree of the Master

A quiet hum of divine energy pulsed through the celestial hall, resonating in the wake of Zar's proclamation. The gods—beings who had once considered themselves the pinnacle of authority—stood frozen in silence, struggling to process the weight of his words.

Zar's golden gaze swept across them, his presence an undeniable force that pressed upon reality itself. He had just announced the creation of a new realm—a plane beyond the multiverse's constraints, forged solely for the upcoming competition. An impossible feat, an act that defied the very nature of existence. And yet, he had spoken of it as though it were nothing more than a trivial endeavor.

Aetherion, Ignis, Vaelora, Eterna, Zephiron—all of them, gods of unparalleled might—remained speechless.

Then—

"I am not bound by this multiverse's limits."

His voice, smooth yet absolute, echoed through the grand hall. The authority in his words did not allow for doubt. It was not arrogance. It was a statement of truth.

The celestial space trembled. The laws of existence themselves seemed to ripple in response.

But then—

Laughter.

Soft at first, then building, until it became an uncontrollable, full-throated roar that echoed within his consciousness.

[ PFTT—HA HA HAHAHAHAHA! ]

Zar blinked.

"..."

Not a smug chuckle. Not an amused scoff. But pure, unfiltered laughter—mocking, relentless.

It was the system.

[ PFFFT—Oh my god, did you seriously just say that?! ]

Zar's eye twitched.

("System, what the hell is wrong with you?")

[ 'I am not bound by this multiverse's limits'—HAHAHAHA, wow, Zar, really? You're basically the protagonist of some over-the-top novel now. Should I start narrating your life in dramatic monologues too? ]

Heat rose to Zar's face. The gods around him remained in solemn reverence, believing they were witnessing a moment of divine magnitude—yet inside his mind, his system was rolling on the floor laughing.

("This is your fault.")

[ Oh? My fault? ]

("Yes. If it weren't for your flex authority, that was stuck at 2%, I wouldn't have to say things like that to assert myself!")

[ Hahaha—yes, yes, blame the system. Maybe next time, I should hold your hand while you make divine decrees. ]

Zar gritted his teeth.

("System, I swear—")

Then—

His thoughts snapped back to reality.

His golden gaze moved across the gods assembled before him—Aetherion, Ignis, Eterna, Vaelora, Zephiron—all six of them.

But there should have been seven.

A flicker of something unreadable passed through his eyes. His expression darkened, his posture shifting ever so slightly. And when he finally spoke, his voice carried a weight that bent the very fabric of the celestial hall.

"The game will begin in twenty-four hours."

A decree. A reality.

But then—his voice sharpened.

"Where is the Seventh Main God?"

A question that shattered the silence like a thunderclap.

The gods stiffened. Aetherion's normally unshakable composure faltered, his divine aura flickering. The others exchanged hesitant glances, yet none dared to speak.

And then—without hesitation, they knelt.

Aetherion was the first to bow his head, followed by the others. Their celestial light dimmed, betraying their unease.

"We have failed you, Master."

Their voices, though steady, carried the weight of shame.

Zar's golden irises burned like molten stars.

"We have failed to bring forth the Goddess of the Demon Domain," Ignis admitted. "She has refused to answer our summons."

Zar remained unreadable. He studied them for a moment longer before speaking, his voice smooth yet firm.

"Why?"

Aetherion exhaled deeply. "She does not acknowledge your authority, Master."

A blasphemous truth.

The kind of statement that could have unraveled an entire era in the past. And yet, it was spoken with unwavering honesty.

The air grew heavy. Reality itself seemed to hold its breath.

Zar did not react with anger. He did not lash out. He did not command.

He simply tilted his head, an inscrutable expression settling over his features.

"She does not acknowledge me?"

Eterna, the Goddess of Life and Death, hesitated before finally speaking.

"She believes that no being has the right to claim dominion over all realms. That no one, not even You, was meant to rule over the multiverse."

Zar's gaze remained locked on her.

"Continue."

Eterna exhaled. "She… does not trust us. Or you. She sees this gathering as deception, another attempt to chain her domain under another's rule. The conflicts of the past have left her unwilling to submit to anyone—even you."

The hall stood deathly still.

Then—

A chuckle.

Soft, quiet, yet filled with something far deeper.

The gods tensed.

Was it amusement? Or something else entirely?

Zar finally spoke.

"Then let us correct her misunderstanding."

The gods lifted their heads slightly, waiting, anticipating.

Zar stepped forward, his presence alone bending the divine space around him.

"Eterna."

She straightened. "Yes, Master."

"You were once in conflict with her, were you not?"

A flicker of emotion passed through Eterna's gaze. She did not deny it.

"...Yes."

Zar's voice was firm, yet devoid of condemnation.

"You will go to her personally."

Eterna's breath caught.

"And you will bring her here."

The decree was final.

But before she could respond, Zar's gaze softened—just slightly.

"And along the way, you will mend what was broken between you."

Eterna's eyes widened.

The gods had expected divine punishment—a forceful display of power that would crush the rebellious deity into submission.

But this?

This was something else.

Zar did not demand fealty through force.

He commanded loyalty through understanding.

Aetherion, Ignis, Vaelora, Zephiron—they all looked at him, each feeling the same silent realization.

This was why he was the Master.

Eterna lowered her head once more, pressing her forehead to the divine floor.

"As you command, Master."
