Chapter 59: Chapter 59: A Duel in the Rain (3; Saeko's POV)
It didn't take that long to get to the training area. The grey clouds were worrying, but I doubted it was actually going to rain. Every time I felt like it would, it never did, so there was nothing to worry about! The only reason it could even be a problem was because our home's training area had an open roof.
We kept it that way so we could train under the sun, which was good for our health. We did it so much that everyone in the family had naturally tanned, healthy skin. It was just Mom, Dad, and me for now, though from what I heard at night, it wouldn't be long before I had a little sibling.
Anyway~
I stood alone, waiting for Amane to change into the proper clothing. I stared longingly at the hallway, really hoping he wouldn't take long. I wanted to push him to his limits. Dominate him. Show him what I was truly capable of. No one at school could handle it, and Dad was in a league of his own.
But Amane…
He probably didn't even realize it himself. Those eyes that break down everything. The way they always seem to search for answers. That unwavering yearning for improvement.
They were beautiful.
Whenever our eyes met, I found myself drawn in, the curiosity behind his thoughts pulling me closer.
'I wonder if he's ever put his all into anything.'
Anyone with a brain could see Amane's greatest weapon was his ability to analyze and adapt. When we first sparred, he had mirrored my competition stance instantly. I doubted he could do the same with my real swordplay, but who knows?
I hadn't seen his best yet.
'God! I want him under me so bad~!'
I pressed my palms against my face, feeling my sadistic desires creeping up. It was getting harder to push them down. The urge to do those things to him was overwhelming. Impossible to suppress.
But I knew I had to wait.
He'd made it clear he didn't want any more relationships at the moment. His entire demeanor radiated it. Right now, to him, I was just a friend.
That was fine for now.
In time, I'd claim my rightful place in his world.
"Saeko."
Amane waved as he entered. Dressed in a purple uniform, he looked absolutely delicious. The combination of black hair, dark eyes, and deep violet fabric was dangerously good. A devastating combo and with his firm, confident posture the whole picture was perfection.
I stood there, silent, as a variety of emotions stirred within me.
He walked closer, each step heightening the feeling.
The moment he was within arm's reach, I let my true thoughts slip out.
"I admire that you can face me." I whispered, my own expression unreadable.
"I don't believe I have any right to back out. I was the one who suggested this, after all." He said matter-of-factly.
Not only was he good-looking, but he was also a man of integrity.
"You know..." he started, stepping back to take proper distance for our match. I had to speak up so he could hear.
"I think integrity is the hottest trait in a man."
I ran a hand across my face, desire spiking through me. I didn't care if he noticed anymore.
It was for the better!
"I-I don't think it's ap—"
I didn't catch the rest of his words.
His red face was enough for me.
I grinned, raising my sword and preparing for battle.
But then, I noticed something.
He wasn't moving.
His eyes, which moments ago held warmth, had shifted. The change was subtle—so subtle that most people wouldn't catch it.
But I did.
KRRRRRA-KOOOM!
The moment the thunder roared, his entire demeanor changed.
His warmth vanished.
His gaze turned sharp, focused, cutting through me like a blade. He wasn't experienced enough to be truly "cold." But that wasn't necessary because in that moment, the weight of his presence alone was enough.
I could feel his eyes scanning me, reading me, dissecting me.
A slight pressure pressed against my body—not an overwhelming force, but something just enough to unsettle.
He had a good grasp of my body, just as I did of his.
I kind of blanked when we stretched together earlier, so I hadn't fully registered it at the time. But now?
It all came to me in a phantom sensation.
His big hands. His lean, fit body. The way his touch was so gentle yet firm. Nothing inappropriate. Nothing lewd. But I had been so focused on keeping myself in check, making sure I didn't let out any unsavory sounds. Soon, though…I'd make sure he was the one making noise.
'Ah~, just you wait, Amane.'
This whole day has just been so difficult with so many, new things, feelings, and desires.
"What a good day," I whispered, shaking away the phantom sensations, lewd desires, and solely focusing on the sword in my hand. My mind calmed, and I entered my perfect state.
