The Path To The Goodhood

Chapter 6: Best Friend

After being transported to Elden City, Feng Yun began to explore. The city was in ruins, with human bodies scattered everywhere, destroyed buildings, and blood-soaked streets. Despite the chaos, Feng Yun remained unfazed, his cultivation background desensitizing him to the carnage.

As he navigated through the crowds, he noticed people crying, screaming in pain, and holding weapons. Some even smiled, seemingly thrilled by the mayhem. Feng Yun's eyes scanned the scene, his expression unchanging.

Just as he was about to approach the crowd, a hand touched his shoulder, making him tense. "Who are you?" Feng Yun asked, his tone firm.

The person behind him replied, "Hey, bro, I'm your best friend."

Feng Yun's eyes narrowed. "I don't recall having a friend."

The person stepped forward, revealing a man with red hair and black eyes. He wore black gym clothes, and his physique was impressive. "What are you saying, man? Did you hit your head or something?"

He was tall, 6.2 feet, the same as Feng Yun's height.

Feng Yun's expression remained serious. "I don't have my memories. Take your hand off my shoulder."

The man looked concerned. "Are you okay, bro? Do you remember me?"

Feng Yun shook his head. "No, I don't remember you."

His expression turned somber. "H-how did this happen? Did those bullies attack you again?"

Feng Yun's eyes narrowed. "Bullies?"

He hesitated before continuing. "Forget what I said. Listen, I'm your best friend, Riyal. We've known each other since elementary school."

Feng Yun raised an eyebrow. "You're my best friend, huh?"

Riyal nodded. "Yes, I am. I know everything about you."

Feng Yun's curiosity piqued. "Tell me something about myself, then?"

Riyal thought for a moment. "What would you like to know?"

Feng Yun's eyes locked onto Riyal's. "Tell me about my family."

Riyal's expression softened. "Your father, Mr. Leonard, was a great man. He helped my father at work, and your mom...she was like a mother to me."

Feng Yun's interest deepened. "Like your mother?"

Riyal's voice trembled. "My mom died giving birth to me, and your mom took care of me because our mothers were friends."

Feng Yun nodded, his expression thoughtful. "I believe you."

Riyal's eyes welled up with tears. "W-what do you believe me?"

Feng Yun smiled, and Riyal burst into tears.

Feng Yun looked puzzled. "Hey, why are you crying?"

Riyal wiped away tears, his voice shaking. "I'm not crying. I'm just glad you're still like yourself."

Feng Yun's expression turned quizzical. "Myself?"
