Chapter 72: Chapter 50
A bunch of explosions could be heard in the distance, making the earth rumble as roars and more explosions were heard in response.
The war cries of Demons and humans alike could be heard, as well as, of course, those who weren't quite human.
And yet, they advanced stealthily, carefully, and even though their numbers easily reached a few thousand, considering the disaster that was happening a few miles away, they went quite unnoticed.
"Captain." A soldier, no, not just any soldier, the second in command of the Theocracy's Unit 452, honorably given the title of 'The Badgers', caught the attention of a woman.
She frowned, looking rather grumpily at said soldier.
"What?" She grumbled.
"Please take-" The man tried to offer the captain a glass bottle with a dark blue liquid.
However, he was interrupted by a slap from the gloved hand of said woman.
"Get that poison away from me!" The captain spat with a rather irritated grimace. "If it's not imported from the Theocracy, I won't take it!"
The shout shocked the soldier for an instant, but he only sighed, quite accustomed to this treatment lately.
In fact, it was his fault, he should have known better than anyone that he shouldn't have offered Captain Leticia a potion provided directly by the army of Deorum Regnum, the heretic nation that bases its population on several races. And only two being human.
While no one could deny the power of Deorum Regnum, a nation that was literally born overnight, as faithful devotees of the 6 Great Gods, they were not going to simply accept heretics who, not only accepted and helped the inferior races, but literally worshiped completely different Deities.
It was incomprehensible that they would seek real collaboration between the two nations.
However, in the heat of battle, with such a high mortality rate and anyone's life at risk 24 hours a day, it was, in a way, natural that some soldiers of the Theocracy would… Get used to the Deorum Regnum army, so to speak.
The hatred, the rejection… It was all diminishing as respect and brotherhood formed between heretics and faithful who waned in desperation to face the forces of Hell…
Tch… It was just when they were facing the evil of the Demons that their faith should be the strongest!
At least that was how the Badgers saw it.
While it was said that the Theocracy army's animosity towards Deorum Regnum was diminishing, that was only a fraction. Another fraction held their indifferent opinion. And another fraction had their contempt on the rise, just as was the case with Unit 452.
"Tch. Captain. What are we supposed to be flanking the Demons for?" a soldier grumbled.
"... We were ordered to place a magic artifact that would allow Deorum Regnum to move units, especially those… Monsters of theirs, behind the Demons' backs, trapping them in a crane wing." Leticia explained with a frown, hating every second she had to be helping the heretics.
"And why don't they do it!?" Another soldier growled.
At this, Leticia didn't say anything, because she had an answer. In fact, she had the same question.
Why should they, devoted servants of the Gods, help the heretics!? Let them do it themselves!
But these were orders from the high command, so unless she wants her unit to be considered deserters, which happened a couple of times, and she wants to be forced to be meat shields in the front row, she had to obey.
Supposedly, Deorum Regnum was supposed to be making such a big fuss, that all the Demons and monsters were distracted, allowing such a large group to advance with relative stealth.
Although it is admittedly quite disturbing that there was not a single attack. Not from an Imp, or anything…
Leticia looked down at her belt.
There was a leather bag, and inside it, there was some sort of ornate silver statue…
Such an artifact must have been some sort of door that would allow a portal to be opened for the Deorum Regnum forces to do the pincer movement.
('Damn Heretics. Liars.')
Hm… She certainly didn't trust them at all, something confirmed it in her mind somehow, those Heretics were plotting something, they were banal and liars by nature unlike the Theocracy…
The thought was nothing more than natural, so it didn't even sound like something strange that made him suspect something. It was simply true.
('They only use us as sacrifices.')
The worst thing was that it was true. Most of the casualties belonged to the Theocracy… Obviously she wasn't going to blame the quality of the equipment, since it was impossible for uncivilized heretics to have better equipment than the blessed nation itself.
Even in training it was impossible for them to surpass the Theocracy.
And yet, the numbers didn't lie. While Deorum Regnum lost one soldier, the Theocracy lost 10. Something was wrong. Too bad… Those bastards…
('This world is corrupted and my mission is to rescue it, from this 'Allied' Kingdom I must despoil it.')
It didn't sound bad… It was a rather tempting idea… But what could she do? She couldn't directly attack their soldiers, as the High Command would punish her unit quite severely. There had already been several assassination attempts by her unit towards Deorum Regnum soldiers, and it didn't end well for them the 2 times they were caught, out of around 41 attempts. And considering that, although they were heretics, they were still helping to deal with this mess of disgusting Demons…
('Those Heretics are bound by Demons, let them confess their sins and suffer my punishment. They will betray us.')
Tch, it didn't sound so far-fetched… But then again… What could she do…?
('Allow the gate to let Demons in.')
Leticia opened her eyes, contemplating the… Idea of revenge…
She stopped, and while it didn't cause her entire unit to stop, as she wasn't actually in front, it did cause her second-in-command to look at her strangely.
"…Captain…?" He asked with concern at the almost disturbing look on her face…
Later, Leticia smiled. "Change of plans~ We'll give those heretics a present~" She hummed, with a wide smile, causing her second-in-command to gulp.
…
[Gate] closed behind her, as her heels landed on the cobblestone street.
However, she had no business there, so she reached into a hellish void, and pulled out a silver medal, putting it on and quickly disappearing in a flash.
"…Black Abyss. What are you calling me for?" You are interrupting the plan that you yourself proposed." A serious and somewhat annoying melodious voice came from a certain Demon after she appeared in a certain office, crossing her arms as she searched with her gaze for the aforementioned Paladin.
Still, her vision was suddenly obscured when two hands were placed over her eyes.
"Guess who I am~" A beautiful voice sounded, one that was clearly trying to change its tone, but it was very difficult not to identify who it was.
Dont remained silent for a few seconds, but finally sighed, giving up.
After all, she couldn't really get angry at her little dove~
"Sweetheart~" She hummed, letting herself fall back to lean against the chest of the Angel she adored so much.
"Right~ How clever~" Black Abyss said, returning to her normal tone. "Now, close your eyes tightly and don't open them~" The little dove exclaimed, removing her hands from the Succubus' beautiful little face. "No cheating~"
The Demon Queen grumbled, but complied, closing her eyes as she tried to figure out what Black Abyss was doing to cause this whole meeting.
She felt the little dove turn her around and stand her upright, presumably facing her.
"Now open them~" The same one exclaimed, without much complaint and little emotion as well, Dont opened her eyes, seeing…
{Black Abyss Lingerie 1 PNG}
Dont-Say-My-Name remained silent, her expression not changing even a bit as she stared at the Paladin.
She stayed like that, for several seconds. It's not that she's not affected, instead, she was processing the sight as the Devil in her mind tried to restrain Komodo and Dont herself from the Daemon leaping like a wolf towards her prey.
However, a second after effectively processing everything, Dont gasped, shaking a bit as she was noticeably fighting with herself, but not taking her eyes off the precious angelic body.
"H-Heart~ W-What's this~?" She stuttered, biting her lip.
"Well~ I have little time before I go back there with Scripture, Brain, and Alice~ So I was thinking~ It's been a while since we've shared quality time~" She exclaimed, putting a little finger on her chin, as if thoughtful.
"W-We're in the middle of a war~" The Demon Queen tried to argue.
"You say that like it's an impediment~" Black Abyss exclaimed with her cute smile, approaching the Demoness with a seductive step.
"M-Mo~ But~ Right now~ I should be checking out the situation~ The Archon~ The betrayal~" Dont tried to argue in an attempt to keep her temper, to not completely give in to the utterly obvious temptation in front of her.
"Mm~? No problem~ Bachelory is there~ So there won't be any delays~" Black Abyss said, then turned around. "Why don't we check out other things instead~?"
{Black Abyss Lingerie 2 PNG}
"Or is the Demon Queen afraid~?" She teased by showing her backside~
"Y-You~ Fine~ I will make you show respect to your queen~" Dont hummed, licking her lips as she prepared for a long and deep session of divine verification.
And as they did, hundreds of thousands would continue to suffer.
…
"General Rodriguez, how much longer must we wait to activate that portal?" A commander with the emblem of the Theocracy on his chest asked another humanoid being, who had the symbol of Deorum Regnum on his shoulder.
"When Commander Miia receives the confirmation signal that the Bridge was placed by Unit 452 of the Theocracy." The Fairy who calmly passed for a human muttered.
"That's it…" A general of the Theocracy muttered with a grimace, looking towards the metal water jug that was the only thing they had to deal with the hellish heat.
A wonder provided by Deorum Regnum that, while it didn't look very large, could hold several liters of liquid.
But… He kept thinking, every time he had a moment of relaxation, about those things…
From the very beginning they were sent to deal with the Demon infestation throughout the territory of Re-Estize, now the Demon Kingdom, but… A few days ago, something else appeared…
They were four-legged beasts with strange shapes that he had never seen before, as if they were made to have weapons everywhere, sharp appendages, spikes, sharp tails, armor…
The creatures were deployed in the first battle, in the Katze Plains, in the fight for the advance towards the Demon Empire.
While the powerful Commander Miia fought against a Demon General, the monsters deployed by Deorum Regnum demonstrated their brutality and effectiveness against the Demons, being able to fight one on one against the dangerous Demon soldiers and win, and remain almost uninjured for long periods of time.
Even if they had casualties, for every 1000 Demons, a B.A.F.W. had a chance of dying, but even that was not guaranteed.
After all, he didn't know why or how, but those monsters changed their forms and attacks the more they fought, as if they could somehow adapt to the thousands of enemies they fought, becoming Demon-killing machines… If something like that came against them… How long would they last…?
However, that would not happen. At least according to what several Theocratic generals and commanders believed.
After all, although it had only been perhaps less than a week, the brutality of the war was such that every minute was like an hour of intense war.
In that way, respect, camaraderie, and trust were born from the humans towards those of Deorum Regnum, regardless of cultural differences. Every 10 seconds, a soldier of the Theocracy was saved by another from Deorum Regnum. While he could say that fate made them enemies, this war was turning them into brothers. If it weren't for the Theocracy's policy, he was sure that both peoples would get along for the most part.
At least that's what some generals and commanders of the Theocracy believed, not knowing that the Fairies of Deorum Regnum would stab them in the back without a moment's hesitation if a Commander of Titania, the Prime Minister, or the Supremes themselves ordered it.
Without being aware of such a fact, his only concern was the lack of intervention of the Demonic army, it had been days since an important battle, and they only dealt with enemies that came from time to time. Such was the enemy absence that they managed to advance about 40 kilometers from the starting point, something that seemed impossible on the first day.
Or rather, such was the efficiency of Commander Miia, the monsters of Deorum Regnum, and the trenches.
If they had advanced 40 kilometers in a straight line, then there should be about 400 km of trenches, it was very arduous work, but extremely effective, no one had died since its implementation, except for Demons.
One of the Theocracy's generals looked out from one of the tent's windows, seeing the cluster of holes and black creatures in the distance...
He got the chills... Those things had to go through the portal that would open next to their... Nest? Whatever.
They would attack the Demons from behind, allowing them to advance greatly by attacking their group from behind and in front.
It was a great plan, with an attack of that magnitude after having rested and prepared with their army for days, there was no way it would end in defeat, much less with the B.A.F.W. and Deorum Regnum helping them with Commander Miia.
Still, there was a rumor that had spread quite a bit, the supposed disappearance of Titania and the Black Scripture… They were the Elite of the Military Elite in both Deorum Regnum and the Theocracy, that sowed some fear in the armies, but after hearing about the plan, that was put aside, luckily.
On the Northern front, the Council seemed to have it under control, but they had not made an advance as wide and fast as that of the Theocracy and Deorum, so this attack was going to trigger a great battle again, not to say that it would be the largest since the start of the war.
General Rodriguez, General Armando, General Alcines, General General, and General Ginebra, however, tried to keep the strategic meeting room of the field command as calm as possible.
After all, they knew it was going to happen. And well, they couldn't care less.
However, while they were not afraid of death, their loss would present severe casualties for Deorum Regnum, and consequently, the Supremes. Therefore, as long as they followed the plan to the letter given by the Shadow Demons that connected to the Shadow Demons of Lady Miia's Shadow Devils, that connected to Lord Achernar's Shadow Devils, that connected to Lady Superbia, that connected to Lord Bachelory, that connected to the Supremes themselves, they would not die. At least the majority. Which was enough.
Suddenly, a soldier entered the tent, drawing collective attention.
"A-Apologies for the interruption, commanders and generals!" The Theocracy soldier bowed.
"Never mind, speak." A Theocrat general said.
"Yes! The portal is ready to be opened." The soldier said seriously.
At this, the tent fell silent.
"It's time." General Rodriguez muttered.
"Yes. It's time for the White Claw's full-scale operation." A commander of the Theocracy nodded.
"When will the portal open?" another general devoted to the Great Gods asked.
"1 minute from being placed." The general explained.
"Then we just have to wait…" The one who asked the question in the first place sighed.
Indeed, we just had to wait. And pray that everything goes well.
…
"Done…" Leticia gasped, looking with disturbing satisfaction at what she had just done, watching the artifact of those heretics move away.
…
"Her Majesty has ordered it. And so we shall. March, servants of Komodo. March in search of blood and despair!" Betelgeuse finished his speech to the forces, who, although newly summoned and disposable, did not hurt to be motivated and moralized.
"Roooaaaaggghh!"" The roar responded more than excitedly to the Infernal Archarchaeologist's words, with thousands upon thousands of summons newly summoned by him and other subordinates ready to bring nothing less than death and destruction to the United Army once the great signal is shown.
With this, the Archdevil smiled maliciously under his hood. After all, as expected, Her Majesty, the Supreme Lady's plans would be carried out perfectly~ At least perfectly to Her wishes.
After all, the slightest flaws were things that the Supremes would not even bother to detail. Even the most random and stupid thing was cold and perfectly calculated in their plans~
"Mm. The Archon Tower is under attack by a powerful force. It is being heavily guarded. Anyway, the 'Archon' will inevitably be deployed even if they destroy the tower. Hmp~ Fools~" The Archarchaeologist hummed, amused that they fell right into the trap.
Even if they destroyed the tower, that was nothing more than a useless construct with a couple of POPs using a combined fire spell added to an illusion spell by another POP to make it look like an eye. And even all the Golems there, even if they were high level, were made with mere common painted stone. Therefore, they weren't as tough as they should be if they were built with materials on par with their level.
Though they were still tough enough to withstand one or two hits from a level 100 fighter-type with no weapons or skills.
With these thoughts, the Archarchaeologist stopped looking at the newly summoned army, and looked towards where the gate was going to appear.
Instead…
*Thud*
A sound of a hard object hitting another was heard.
Betelgeuse froze as he placed his hands to prevent the harmless object from falling, while his head was slightly tilted back out of reflex more than anything.
Subsequently, he looked down at his hands…
It was the locating artifact that in 5 seconds was going to cause Eyesight to open a [Gate] at his location…
4… 3…
An imaginary vein bulged on the Archarchaeologist's temple as he threw the object a few inches in front of him.
And the [Gate] opened.
"Kill them all." He ordered, before silently casting [Fly].
…
A bastard sword floated out, as if wielded by magic, before crashing into a gigantic, silver rock construction.
The blow of the sword was enough to make the enormous rock creation recoil, with a large crack in its chest, sure that a spear would fly towards it, making it have to block it with its arms, so that a platinum-colored figure would appear behind the being, with a giant hammer in its hands.
A huge fist of red rock shot out from above, seeking to crush a silver figure.
However, it practically blinked, with a sword in its hand, and in a second, the rock giant's arm was cut cleanly, falling inert while the owner of said arm looked at the stump, later losing his head from another cut.
Another golden rock giant placed his arms in an X in front of him, to then receive a powerful punch from an equally golden figure, however, the Golem's arms were shattered into hundreds of smaller pieces by the blow.
On the other hand, two Golems that had the colors of orange and green tried to hit a figure in a mix of scarlet and black. However, they were unable to do so due to the speed of the figure.
Only for a spear to pierce through the chest of one of the Golems, and subsequently, an explosion to destroy the Golem from the inside out.
All while the owner of said spear pointed a finger at the demonic stone monument in front of him, already with several parts shattered and cracked.
From his finger, a laser beam shot out with immense power, however, a Golem jumped, only to get between the laser and the monument, causing the Golem to be disintegrated in a massive explosion.
"Tch, they are much weaker than you said, Platinum." Scarlet grumbled, extending a hand and stopping a Golem's fist with it.
And while the figure didn't seem to receive any damage, the shockwave and the lack of sufficient grip, caused Scarlet to fly several meters, while the ground sank where the blow was blocked.
"This is strange… They seem to be made of rocks of different colors… But no really strong material…" Platinum muttered, tightly gripping his hammer, and smashing another Golem that tried to attack him from behind.
"Well~ It seems that Komodo can make Golems but it doesn't have the means~" Golden laughed, stepping back and avoiding a punch that made the earth tremble, then returning the punch to the Golem's head.
"Still, they're only weak to us. But they could wipe out entire armies before being defeated." Silver muttered, cutting two more Golems, then putting his sword to block a punch, which sank him deep into a crater.
"What does it matter? Do you repeat why I can't destroy the whole place right away?" Scarlet grumbled, firing another laser and causing a chain of explosions among the massive line of Golems. "These things don't hesitate to sacrifice themselves to block any attack I throw at that thing.
"Because that would draw Komodo's attention right away, and he either comes to his generals, or runs away again. Neither option is desirable." Platinum explained with a sigh, causing his bastard sword to go and strike another Golem several times.
"It seems to me that you take this very seriously~ I'm sure that between the 4 of us we can take down all those Demon Generals and Komodo too~" Gold hummed, throwing another punch and creating a hole in another Golem.
"That's true. Either way, we can just leave and wait once we destroy that." Silver approved oddly.
"Uh oh, daddy's knight agrees with me. "I think we're going to die." Gold said seriously.
"You…" Silver didn't react very well to that joke, giving another slash and dividing two Golems in two with a single slash.
"Ha… Alright. Scarlet. Destroy all of this…" After several seconds of thinking, Platinum gave in, starting to walk away.
"Finally! You're so annoying sometimes." The aforementioned gasped in exasperated relief, before beginning to surround himself with a reddish energy. "Alright~ Prepare yourselves, rock heads~ You're going to disappear~!" He roared.
"Wow~" Gold let out with false wonder, standing still within Scarlet's range and staring with both arms on his hips.
Silver looked at him silently, and gasped, grabbing the pervert by his draconic tail, and flying quickly to get him out of the range of the explosion.
"Hey! Aw, aw, aw! Not the tail!" Gold complained.
"Disappear~! [Wild Magic: Catastrophe]!" The scarlet armor roared.
…
From several kilometers away, a tremor as large as an earthquake was felt, followed by a powerful shockwave that, fortunately, did not reach any army, be it allied or demonic.
…
"It's time." A certain purple Devil who really wasn't a Demon in the slightest hummed.
At this, he extended one hand towards the ashen plain while opening his book with the other.
"Just as Your Majesty predicted~ Hahaha~" He laughed in glee, as the book began to turn pages on its own, releasing a purple energy.
Only to stop at one page.
"[Summon High Tier Demon: Bastard of the Beast]!" He shouted with a wide grin.
The book glowed, changing the purple color to an unholy black one, sending purple rays in all directions, as a large-sized red-hot pentragram was etched into the ground.
While there was a wide variety of rather eye-catching high-tier summons. What could be more ironic to annoy the Dragon Lords than this?
Furthermore, being that it was, as a rule, the ultimate race, it was a good 'trump card'.
…
[Gate] opened above the B.A.F.W. nest, with the B.A.F.W.s quickly beginning to emerge, more than hungry, ready to meet His expectations. Die.
And it started well, as a humanoid figure covered in a black robe emerged first from [Gate], floating.
And then, he pointed towards one of the tented areas that had a large concentration of Theocracy soldiers.
"[Infernal Gate]" He chanted, and the already ashen and charred ground began to burn, starting to melt almost instantly…
And thousands of humans fell into the hole of magma and hellfire that appeared out of nowhere beneath their feet.
Not long after, Demons in armor began to pour through the portal into the B.A.F.W. nest.
Chaos quickly ensued, as the B.A.F.W.s, being ambushed 'suddenly' without preparation, began to die one by one. And the help of the heavyweight flying over the army, sending spell after spell in all directions, did not help in the slightest.
…
Leticia watched with morbid joy as the Demons entered the portal~ Surely finishing off those black monsters that the heretics brought~ And causing massive casualties in the ranks of Deorum Regnumas~
"Captain! What have you done!?" A random soldier shouted in despair, watching as Demons entered through the portal to the camp where his brothers in arms from the Theocracy were also.
"I gave those heretics a taste of their own medicine~!" The captain of the unit said with joy.
"There are soldiers from the Theocracy there too!" Another shouted, with the captain's opinions quickly declining as they watched in horror as the fate of thousands of faithful to the Great Gods was stained with blood.
"Do you really think that devotees of the Gods are going to die!? Ha! And I thought you were smarter!" Leticia mocked. "Obviously, with this, the Theocracy will show that it does not depend on heretics! We are stronger than them! They should be meat shields for us! Not us! Once the filthy Demons finish entering, we will attack them from behind! We will finish it off together with our brothers and prove that the Theocracy, humanity is supreme!" Leticia shouted with almost a touch of fanatic madness.
The captain's words touched the hearts of several, and although still with doubt, the situation for the woman was calmed with false determination, security and confidence.
They had to show what the Theocracy was made of.
They would win, without the help of heretics.
Thus, they waited for the last Demon of the bunch to enter through the portal. With faith in their hearts, and hatred in their souls towards the filthy heretics.
…
"That easy~" Scarlet hummed, seeing the rubble of what she had just caused.
"Mm… It doesn't seem like there is any danger now." Silver murmured.
"Wah… My eyes… Your spark is very bright, Scarlet. I'm going to get epileptic…" Dorado murmured, somewhat dizzy.
"Shut up, moron." The one who caused the explosion grumbled.
"… With that done, we're leaving. We need to keep an eye out for any further Komodo movements. Who knows what he did while the four of us were here." Platinum muttered, watching out of the corner of his eye as Gold joined two fingers in a flame on Silver's cloak, only to receive a knightly blow to the head.
"Idiot… Ahem. That's right. As I recall, you said that the Theocracy and Deorum Regnum were planning a large-scale attack to reduce the distance between them and the location of Komodo's base." Silver nodded.
"Yeah, maybe Komodo found out, and that's what this thing was for." Platinum agreed. "Luckily, we interrupted whatever this was." He said smugly. And even if it had nothing to do with that attack, that tower didn't bode well in the slightest. And Platinum wasn't particularly interested in waiting to see what happens.
"Well then~ Let's go~" Gold hummed, only for a disturbing sound to be heard from the pile of rubble. "Er… It must have been the wind." He shrugged.
A deathly silence fell for a few moments…
"… It seems it was the wind." Scarlet added, not seeing anything.
"Of course it was. This was an easy mission. And it was easy." Silver grumbled.
"Don't say th-!" Gold tried to stop the knight from saying the cursed words.
But he himself was interrupted by a massive explosion of fire that sent a flame in all directions from the pile of rubble that was once the monument.
"Ooaaaaggggghhh!" The roar was heard from the flames, as the four armors were sent flying by the shockwave of the explosion.
"Wah! Team Armor has been defeated again!" Silver let out as he spun in his path.
Silver hit his head as the armor stopped on its own thanks to its ability to float.
"What was that?" Platinum grumbled.
"If I knew, I would have told you." Scarlet spat, looking at the flame that was just beginning to fade away.
"Oh… That's…" Gold was speechless as the flames disappeared…
"Tch… It can't be…" Silver clenched his fists.
"How unpleasant." Scarlet spat again.
"..." Platinum remained silent, looking at the monster that had just appeared.
It seems that it wasn't an easy mission after all.
…
Bachelory smiled after seeing his summon disappear in a burst of flames. A nice ability that replaced teleportation in an explosive ability~
A nice greeting to the attackers of the Archon's Tower~
He didn't expect the monster to finish off any of them, but he did expect to hold them off long enough so they wouldn't interfere with the plan.
After all, ironically, there were 4 fronts, and 4 attackers were counted, Riku among them along with his knight friend during the Jaldabaoth episode.
He hummed to himself, more than satisfied with how the Supremes' impressive plans were unfolding~
Well, it was only natural after all. He considered contacting some Supreme and informing them of the situation, but not only was he sure that they already knew~ They knew everything after all~
But he knew the reason why Lady Black Abyss summoned Lady Dont~ It was quite obvious~
He couldn't help but feel the greatest joy in his heart knowing how much the Supremes appreciated each other~
His transformation almost waned at the thought of the results of the Supremes' union~
An heir wouldn't be bad at all~ Especially at the depressing thought of the last two Supremes leaving Titania one day.
Although Bachelory wanted to avoid such thoughts as much as he could, his soul still weighed down with such doubts, no matter how happy the Supremes looked now.
After all, the other Supreme Lords also looked happy in the past, but they still left…
No. Bachelory, as the Prime Minister, couldn't keep himself mired in such dark thoughts.
He had to give his all to make the Supreme Ladies more than happy and prevent them from abandoning them.
He knew that everyone on Titania had the same intentions.
There was no greater suffering, no greater torture for them than losing the Overlords. And considering that most of them were gone, it couldn't be said that they weren't suffering anyway.
But still, such pain was nothing more than a minor annoyance when they still had Overlords to serve. The merciful Lady Dont and Lady Black Abyss.
"Mm. Enough of that. I must take advantage and consume my daily summons on permanent entities." He nodded to himself, turning away, looking away from the charred plain where a monster had been manifested, and looking towards Sheol. "[Teleportation]" He chanted, disappearing from the place that witnessed a nightmare, the birth, or rather, summoning of a bastard of something abominable…
…
"… Mr. Gandolfo…" A Dark Elf sweatdropped as he poked the snoring thing on a bench in one of the Fairy Village squares with a stick.
"… Mm… Yes…?" The level 100 NPC yawned.
"Shouldn't you be monitoring the status of your Golems…?" Mighty Bill asked, while an Orc beside him adjusted his glasses with an amused yet nervous grimace.
"Mm…? Ah…" He seemed to realize… "Yes… They're… All destroyed… That…" He muttered sleepily…
"… Isn't that bad…?" The Fairy Sheriff asked.
"No… Part of the… Plan…" He muttered again, only to make a wrong move and fall off the bench… However, he didn't even flinch, starting to snore again.
"… I see…" Bill sweatdropped again, while Cristofer McGorilla gave a nervous laugh.
"Ah… No… Actually…" Gandolfo suddenly sat up, scaring the pair of lower level NPCs.
"Y-Yes?" The sheriff stammered in fright.
"There's… One… Not broken… The… Strong one… Yes…" Gandolfo said with renewed drowsiness, starting to collapse on the ground again.
After a few seconds of waiting to see if he was going to continue, the Nephilim started to snore.
"… I think we should take him to his post…" Cristofer muttered.
"… Yes…" Bill nodded…
"..."
"..."
"I'm not taking him." The Dark Elf said quickly.
"Tch." The Orc clicked his tongue.
