The Rejected Alpha's Vengeance

Chapter 591: Days When She Didn't Have To Run Anymore

[HAWI]

"... That queen Kia is a pain in my ass each day. I think she hates us," Adolf began determinedly.

Hawi choked on air.

Of the things that Hawi had expected from Adolf. This was certainly not it. Honesty, she hadn't had the slightest clue of what to expect from home, but slander against the one person who loved Adolf with all she had was not expected.

Then again, she had to remind herself that they weren't aware of the identity of the woman over there. They didn't know who she was why she was important or even what she meant to the lot of them.

It was frustrating to an extent and it made her want to stand up for Rukiya even without saying much. That was what she should have done, but then she couldn't. At least not this time anyway.

"A pain in your ass?" Hawi asked carefully, like she didn't want to be subjective or even emotional about whatever was being said about her very dear mate. It was something that had her curious and she wanted to understand what this was about at the end of the day.

"I almost forgot you didn't know half of it. I'll let you know," Adolf said exactly even though his frustration about the queen was so damn obvious. It was unsettling but Hawi had to sit through this one it was the only way for her to know what the fuck was happening with her people.

Then again, she had also noticed that the knights hadn't said much about the queen or even made a statement other than the fact that they had let out groans at the way that he was about to keep whining.

Their worry was the whine and not what Adolf had to say which Hawi translated as the truth. What had Ruru done to her people… their people? Oh, how Hawi hoped it wasn't something that would be hard to redeem at the end of the day.

Perhaps that is just the bit of it that she had no idea how to deal with or maybe it was just the one time that she had to make certain that all of this would make sense eventually, right?

"It all started when…" Adolf began as he delved into every little thing that the queen of Olyana had done to them and how hard she had made their lives to be.

It was something that pissed Hawi off, and she was fisting her hands subconsciously even though she knew that her mate couldn't have done that. She hated the fact that Rukiya was an amnesiac and that all of what she was doing had to have been manipulated by Islinda.

At some point, she wanted to tell Adolf to stop because it was too much for her to hear about her mate. But she didn't. She had to brave all of this and wait for what their verdict would be.

She loved her people and she would stand up for them. She just hadn't known that she would be forced to stand up for them against the love of her life. What kind of fate was this?

"Oh, goddess," Hawi let out by the time that Adolf was done. She couldn't believe that Islinda had done this and a part of her was furious with the all-powerful woman. This wasn't how life was supposed to be and Hawi hated it.

If she could find Islinda right now, she would mar the woman's face by making the lives of her people that hard. Now she understood why they had been so adamant about protecting the borders and somewhat excited about the queen coming to Hernia.

Oh, how Hawi wished she could have done something better for them. But that was impossible for now. The only thing that mattered was that she had gotten to this point with them, right?

They had to work out and make sure that life would eventually be worth living, no?

"I know, right? That woman is quite the piece of work," Elodie let out a matching groan to that of everyone.

The queen had truly made their lives a tad difficult and it wasn't fair to them. Perhaps there would come a day when they understood what life was meant to be like for the lot of them, right?

"She won't hurt you anymore. I'm here, no one will try shit with you again," Hawi said determinedly as she looked at her friends. She knew that their lives had to have been difficult with running the pack without the queen fucking them up like that.

And this time, she would not let anyone bully them into doing anything that they didn't want to. She would stand up for them against everyone and everything that was out to cause them pain.

It wasn't something that was up for discussion and they could see it in her face. This right here was the Hawi they had known and loved and they wore the flag that she was back.

"We know, Hawi. Just don't strain yourself while at it," Hudhayfah said and Hawi just smiled at him. Even to this point, Hudhayfah Karim was still the kindest man that he had always been.

His heart was one of gold and was still shining bright with hope for everything that had happened.

This was the kind of thing that Hawi needed along with her people because without it, then they would be doomed. Hawi had promised herself that she wouldn't be so angry no matter what happened along the way.

She had been determined to let everyone know that life would be better and while she was raging at the goddess right now, she still managed a smile on her face. She had to, for her people.

"Together, as always," Hawi comforted and they smiled at her again.

In the near distance, the new Sicario wolves were enjoying the party and ceremony. They were having the time of their lives even though they were also watching in awe as Hawi interacted with the Savasci knights.

This right here gave them the hope that they were weird back to be the most powerful sect in the mentor realm. It didn't matter what happened or what came after them this time, they would be together and safe because Hawi was back.

This woman wouldn't let anyone lay hands on them and for that, they were eternally grateful and even more.

They were getting their lives back together in one night, which would have seemed so little for any other person, but the fact that Awuor Sicario was back here, meant that the world could go fuck off and they would just be fine.

"They really have grown up fast," Hawi said as she looked at the kids who were no longer kids. She could see how time had been kinder to them and she loved that they had felt safe in Sicario.

This was their home and they wouldn't have to be hurt by anyone in it, especially now that Awuor Hawi was back. It was probably an insane idea but then what else was there for them?

"You coming back is the best thing for all of us, look at their smiles," Malika said as Hawi tried to smile through it all, even though her mind was drifting towards the little girl in the Olyana palace. Enjoy new stories from My Virtual Library Empire
