The richest actor in Hollywood.

Chapter 448: Chapter 448: The Most Macho Feminine Role

In the dining room of a modest single-family home in the San Monica Valley, Los Angeles, a family of three sat enjoying dinner. Since the father returned home late from work, dinner started after 8:30 PM.

This was a typical family of three: a middle-aged couple in their early forties and their fourteen-year-old daughter, who had the common American traits of brown hair and a smattering of freckles, giving her a very lively appearance.

"Dad, can I watch TV a bit longer tonight?" the daughter asked, putting down her knife and fork and looking at her father with hopeful eyes. "Nickelodeon has my favorite show on tonight."

The middle-aged man looked up and said, "Sure." Before his daughter could celebrate, he added, "But Suri, don't stay up too late."

Despite his words, his eyes were filled with affection as he looked at his daughter.

"Okay!" Suri eagerly nodded. "I'll be in bed before ten."

The middle-aged woman, knowing her daughter well, asked, "Is it the show hosted by Lily?"

"Lily Collins!" Suri reminded her, then added, "I like Lily the most. Even though she had graduated when I entered Harvard-Westlake School, everyone knows she's one of the most outstanding students the school has ever had."

"Is that an exaggeration?" the middle-aged man asked.

Suri nodded vigorously, "She was the most influential student at Harvard-Westlake for the past three years. She wrote columns for various magazines during school, influencing everyone with her style and behavior. And she was hired by Nickelodeon as a host just after entering USC's journalism program."

The middle-aged man pondered for a moment, "This girl sounds impressive."

Suri added, "Lily did something amazing while at Harvard-Westlake. The principal had set many unreasonable rules, so Lily wrote to Will Turner, and during a school assembly, Will Turner sneaked into the school and captured the principal."

"Will Turner?" the middle-aged woman asked, puzzled.

"The main character in 'Pirates of the Caribbean,'" the middle-aged man explained.

Suri glanced at her watch and hurriedly stood up, "You guys continue; the show is starting. I'm going to watch TV."

She quickly left the dining room, went to the living room, and turned on the TV, switching to Nickelodeon just in time for the show's opening credits. Lily Collins stood brightly on the stage of the studio.

Suri adored Lily Collins. This girl, not much older than her, had left a legacy at Harvard-Westlake School, a queen-like presence—no, a princess-like one.

Since seeing Lily Collins on this show, Suri had been emulating her style and hairdos. Lily's show primarily targeted teenagers, covering various lifestyle topics and occasionally mentioning Hollywood.

Watching for a short while, Suri realized today's show was not just about Hollywood; it was an interview with a Hollywood star—Lily's friend, Matthew Horner!

"Becoming a famous Hollywood actor comes with many perks, but it also involves immense pressure and controversy, like a tsunami of slander and exploitation. In such a challenging industry, how does Matthew Horner maintain his strength and grace under pressure?" Lily Collins's monologue piqued Suri's interest in Matthew Horner, whom she had only vaguely known by name.

After the interview began and she heard Matthew Horner's ultimate pursuit, Suri couldn't help but laugh. This Hollywood star seemed quite interesting.

Then, Lily Collins and Matthew Horner discussed his new movie, "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest."

The show first played some clips from "Pirates of the Caribbean," followed by a narration about Matthew Horner.

"Roaming, not fitting into mainstream society, and bravely facing life's challenges and traps—these are traits of the film's protagonist, Will Turner, reflecting Matthew Horner's childhood."

Then, in a friendly manner, Lily Collins asked Matthew about his childhood.

Matthew described his childhood, "I was always moving, so I was always the new kid. I got used to humiliation—wrong clothes, wrong accent, wrong talk, wrong hairstyle. When I couldn't take it anymore, I fought back, but I always had to clean up the blood before going home."

Lily Collins then asked, "Did you have any special skills back then?"

Suri, watching the very well-presented Matthew Horner on TV, was surprised by his troubled childhood.

He replied, "I wasn't particularly good at any school subjects, but I knew that if I focused on one thing, I had the creativity to excel in it."

The discussion about "Pirates of the Caribbean" continued for a while. Watching the many clips shown, Suri gradually became interested in the tall, strong Will Turner, a character who was both brave and skilled. It was no wonder Lily Collins had written to him for help back then.

If she faced an unsolvable problem, she would also think of seeking help from someone like Will Turner.

The conversation about "Pirates of the Caribbean" lasted a long time. Matthew also praised Johnny Depp's portrayal of Captain Jack Sparrow.

"Depp's career peak is like a fairy tale, still dazzling. Thus, Captain Jack Sparrow can effortlessly capture everyone's attention—even with his ambiguous eyeliner, erratic gait, and perplexing, lazy tone."

Hearing Matthew Horner's words, Suri, who hadn't watched "Pirates of the Caribbean," became interested in the character.

"This is the most macho feminine role in film history. In the whirlwind of adventure, his astounding wit and innate charm create a vibrant maritime legend for the audience."

Suri decided she would rent the first "Pirates of the Caribbean" movie from the video store tomorrow.

As the TV program's segment on "Pirates of the Caribbean" concluded, Lily Collins and Matthew Horner shifted the conversation back to Matthew himself.

This handsome and very manly man had already made a good impression on Suri, and she continued watching intently.

Lily Collins asked, "Do you like your current job?"

"I love my job, and I'm proud of it. When I do something, I don't do it halfway, not even seventy-five percent or ninety percent. If I do it, I give it my all."

Matthew's words, much like his appearance, were full of confidence. "I might be overly harsh on myself, driven by a fear of not being good enough, a strong desire to improve or meet standards."

"Do you know you're very handsome?" Lily Collins asked a question that Suri liked.

"I know I'm handsome," Matthew replied confidently on TV, "but I also work very hard!"

Hearing this, Suri couldn't help but laugh. After laughing for a while, she checked the time and saw the show was nearly over. It had flown by quickly.

Her favorite, Lily Collins, asked the final question, "Matthew, how do you evaluate your life?"

"My life is complex and interesting. I've faced many challenges and always found ways to deal with them. I'm a man, an actor, willing to take on these responsibilities and enjoy it. I'm constantly changing, developing, and growing. Pursuing success has no end. I'm passionate about learning and life!"

As Matthew Horner's voice faded, the show ended with a round of applause. Suri stood up, stretched, and saw Lily Collins deliver her closing lines before turning off the TV and heading to her room. Instead of going straight to bed, she opened her computer and Googled Matthew Horner, "Pirates of the Caribbean," Johnny Depp, Will Turner, and Jack Sparrow. The more she read, the more interested she became, discovering that "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest" would premiere next month.

Maybe buying a ticket to see it in theaters wouldn't be a bad idea? Suri thought.

But first, she decided to rent the first "Pirates of the Caribbean" DVD from the video store tomorrow.

From the show, she could clearly tell that Lily Collins admired and liked Matthew Horner a lot.

As a fan of Lily Collins, Suri believed anyone Lily admired and liked must have unique qualities.

Attending Harvard-Westlake, Suri had heard many legends about Lily Collins and Will Turner. Next Monday, she might inquire about them.

Starting in early June, Disney's promotional campaign for "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest" entered its final phase. The Nickelodeon interview was just the beginning, with more intense promotional activities planned across the US.
