Chapter 36: Magic Fruit, the Small Auction Meeting
Seeing the door close tightly again, Liam Smith finally couldn't hold back and laughed out loud.
He said in a low voice, "Master, your move is really brilliant. I bet Ignatius doesn't even have the tears to cry right now."
Alistair also chuckled and said, "Of course. Without some real skills, how could I be your master?"
"Just thinking about it makes me feel so satisfied." A sinister smile crossed Liam Smith's lips. "Next time we should blackmail him again. This guy must have a lot of wealth after being in Silvermoon Valley for decades."
"Next time won't work."
"Why not?"
"This time he was at fault first. Next time he won't accept our blackmail so readily." Alistair sighed after saying this. "We can only blame the fact that our harvest in the Cloud-Connecting Mountains wasn't big enough this time."
Liam Smith nodded in agreement.
Suddenly, he slapped his thigh and said, "I should have known better. We should have bought more elixirs earlier. We missed out on such a great buy-one-get-one-free deal."
Alistair also felt sorry and let out a long sigh. "We lost a lot of Soul crystals just like that. I'm afraid we won't have this opportunity again in the future."
I wonder what Ignatius's expression would be if he heard the conversation between this master and disciple. He'd probably be lucky if he didn't spit out a mouthful of blood in anger.
Glancing at the fruits on the table, which gave off a wonderful fragrance, Liam Smith couldn't resist picking one up and taking a small bite.
In addition to the delicious juice and pulp, Liam Smith clearly felt a rich flow of spiritual energy entering his body.
"Master, this fruit is amazing. It has such strong spiritual energy. Ignatius really knows how to enjoy himself."
"You're just inexperienced. These are magic fruits."
"Magic fruits?" Liam Smith had never heard of them before.
He often ate regular fruits, but he had never tasted Magic fruits. If he hadn't heard Aisha say that these were the fruits for Ignatius earlier, he wouldn't have dared to eat them.
"Magic fruits are also a type of elixir..." Alistair began to tell Liam Smith about Magic fruits.
In the Liberty Divine Land, there are many types of Magic fruits, but they are not common. For a magic fruit to grow, it requires a spiritual tree of a certain age, and the growth of a spiritual tree is calculated in hundreds, thousands, or even tens of thousands of years. They are also the rarest type of elixir.
Unlike ordinary elixirs, magic fruits can be swallowed directly. The spiritual energy they contain is all the essence of heaven and earth, which is of great benefit to warriors. Taking magic fruits regularly can increase a warrior's cultivation.
However, ordinary warriors can't afford them. Even the lowest-level Magic fruit, Level One, costs fifty or sixty Soul crystals each.
And the one Liam Smith was eating now was a Level One Magic fruit. As for its name, Alistair couldn't remember. According to him, he used to eat Magic fruits of Level Six or Seven and above, and he wouldn't even bother to look at a Level One Magic fruit like this.
Liam Smith didn't care too much about whether what Alistair said was a boast or the truth. Instead, he lowered his head and kept eating the Magic fruit.
In just a few breaths, there was only a fruit core left of one magic fruit.
Without the slightest hesitation, Liam Smith picked up the second one, then the third...
Anyway, it would be difficult to take advantage of Ignatius in the future, so he might as well take as much advantage as he could today. After all, it would be a waste not to eat them.
After eating three magic fruits, Liam Smith burped contentedly.
But then he felt his head becoming dizzy, as if he was drunk, and he couldn't dispel that feeling of drunkenness even with his vital energy.
Liam Smith asked in confusion, "Master, what's going on?"
Alistair smiled sinisterly and said, "Don't be afraid. This is a normal reaction to over-consuming magic fruits. With your cultivation, it's already difficult to digest the spiritual energy of one magic fruit in a day, but you actually ate three at once."
"Why didn't you tell me earlier?"
"You were the one who insisted on eating three in one go. It wasn't me who told you to do it."
"Then what should we do now?" Liam Smith tried to stand up and take a few steps, but his legs were extremely weak, and his vision was blurry. He said worriedly, "Ignatius will definitely notice this later."
"Don't worry. It's just a small matter." As he spoke, a white light flashed from the ancient jade on Liam Smith's chest. It traveled through Liam Smith's whole body and finally disappeared into his Dantian Core.
Strangely enough, after the white light disappeared, Liam Smith gradually recovered. His mind became clear, and his limbs were full of energy.
Liam Smith knew that Alistair had stepped in to help him dissolve excessive spiritual energy.
He was slightly surprised: It seems I can't eat too many in the future. I didn't expect that even good things could have side effects if consumed in excess.
However, at this moment, Liam Smith also secretly had an idea in his mind: This Magic fruit is not only delicious but also has the effect of increasing cultivation. It's really a good thing.
Anyway, I'm somewhat wealthy now. It wouldn't be a bad idea to buy a batch of magic fruits.
"Master, I want to..."
"Don't say it. I know." Alistair said indifferently. "We'll buy dozens of them later."
"Master, I have to admire you. How do you even know what I'm thinking?"
Alistair didn't hold back at all and said, "Nonsense. Looking at the drool on your mouth, anyone can tell what you're thinking."
Just then, there was a sound of footsteps outside the door.
Liam Smith knew that Ignatius was back. He quickly wiped the juice from his mouth and adjusted his clothes.
With a "creak", the door opened, and Ignatius walked in holding a storage bag.
Glancing at the three magic fruit cores on the table, Liam Smith couldn't sit still any longer. He simply stood up and walked over to Ignatius.
He laughed and said, "You're quite quick."
Ignatius obviously didn't notice anything unusual. Instead, he thought that perhaps "Fane Davis" had finally had a guilty conscience.
He clasped his fists towards Liam Smith and said, "I naturally have to be quick about Mr. Davis's matters. How dare I be negligent?"
"How can I feel at ease with you saying that?" Alistair said politely.
You were so ruthless. You almost made me go bankrupt. Ignatius thought.
But what he said was completely different from what he thought. "Mr. Davis is a distinguished guest of our auction house. This is all I should do."
"It's really too kind of you. If I have anything to sell in the future, I'll come to you first." Alistair said with great determination.
This was exactly what Ignatius wanted to hear. What he had done before now had meaning.
He bowed slightly and said, "With Mr. Davis's words, I can rest assured."
"It's getting late today. I'm sure you have a lot of things to attend to. I won't disturb you any longer. I'll take my leave now."
"Why doesn't Mr. Davis stay for a simple meal before leaving?"
"No. I also have some urgent matters to deal with. I'll come back for a big meal when I'm free someday."
"That's fine too." Ignatius didn't really want to keep him. It was just a polite gesture. He had long been eager for "Fane Davis" to leave.
Ignatius handed the storage bag in his hand to Liam Smith and said, "This contains all the Soul crystals from today's transaction with Mr. Davis. Please check them, Mr. Davis."
Alistair swept his spiritual power over the storage bag and knew that it was exactly right. In this regard, Alistair believed that the auction house wouldn't make any mistakes.
What surprised him was that he was directly given a high-level storage bag this time. It would cost at least two or three hundred Soul crystals on the market. He didn't expect Ignatius to be so sensible.
Alistair laughed heartily and asked Liam Smith to put away the storage bag. He continued to say to Ignatius, "The matter here is settled. I'll leave now. Master Ignatius, there's no need to see me off."
Seeing that Alistair didn't mention the high-level storage bag at all, Ignatius couldn't hold back. He didn't want to do a good deed without getting any benefits.
He quickly said, "Mr. Davis, this high-level storage bag is a token of our auction house's appreciation and to repay Mr. Davis for his patronage of our auction house."
"You're too kind." Alistair casually spat out these two words.
Ignatius took out a golden VIP card from his pocket and handed it to Liam Smith. He said, "This is the golden card that only the most respected VIPs of our auction house can have. There are only a few of them in the entire Silvermoon Valley. In the future, as long as Mr. Davis uses this card, he can enjoy a 2% discount on the total price of any item purchased in the auction house."
Looking at the golden card in his hand, Liam Smith was slightly surprised. He didn't expect that this small golden card had such a function, which would also be of great benefit to him and could save him a lot of Soul crystals.
"I'll accept it without hesitation." Alistair didn't show any politeness.
Ignatius's mouth twitched, but he quickly returned to normal and said seriously, "There's one last thing I need to inform Mr. Davis about."
"What is it?"
"Our auction house will hold a small auction meeting in half a month. There will be a lot of good things available then. If Mr. Davis is interested, he might as well come and take a look. If there's anything good he wants to sell, it will definitely fetch a good price if auctioned at that time."
"A small auction meeting. It sounds quite interesting." Alistair became interested.
Liam Smith was even more interested. He had heard his grandfather mention this small auction meeting before. It was said that the auction house held it once a month, and there were always a lot of good things available each time. It was one of the grand events that all warriors in Silvermoon Valley wanted to attend.
"But I didn't see the auction hall here."
Alistair's confusion was also Liam Smith's. Although he had been here twice, he hadn't seen the so-called auction hall.
Ignatius explained, "Mr. Davis, you don't know this. Behind another back door in the hall on the first floor of the auction house is our auction hall."
"I see." Liam Smith nodded to show that he understood.
After Ignatius's explanation, Liam Smith remembered that there was also a small door opposite the back door on the first floor that led here. Presumably, that was where the auction hall was located.
"We hold auctions every day. If Mr. Davis wants to watch, he can go there now."
"We'll see about that later." Alistair said indifferently. "If there's nothing else, I'll be leaving now."
"Mr. Davis, walk slowly." Ignatius was very attentive and saw "Fane Davis" at the door.
Watching his receding figure, Ignatius put away his smile and showed a bit of disappointment and frustration.
He turned around and entered the room, sat back in the main seat, and his eyes fell on the plate that originally held the three Magic fruits. He was shocked.
The three Magic fruits were gone, and only three fruit cores were lying quietly in the large plate.
Ignatius finally roared, "My Magic fruits!" His voice was filled with endless grief and indignation. He felt tightness in his chest, and a mouthful of blood that he could no longer hold back spurted out.
