Chapter 15: Battle plans (2)
She grabbed Aylin's hips with both hands, grinding down forcefully on Aylin, releasing moans and groans from them both. Nox gently bit at Aylin's scent gland, feeling the shiver of pleasure that buzzed through her mate through the mate bond. She lifted her head, barely brushing her lips against Aylin's as she spoke.
"Now, now, my disobedient little fairy, what did I say about you pouting those pretty little lips?" Aylin shivered at the husky tone of her mate and something told her that this was not over, not by a longshot.
She was right, since before she answered, Nox ground against her once more, eliciting another sweet moan from Aylin, then using the given opportunity, she entered the warm cave that was known as her mate's mouth.
She ravaged the small mouth, exploring its depths thoroughly. Aylin mewled, swept up in her Alpha's passionate kiss, her head filled with nothing but Scarlett's hot, searing touches and the way they danced on her skin, making her tremble, her body becoming more and more heated than before.
Nox broke the kiss, giving her flushed and dazed omega time to breathe. By this time, Aylin's eyes had turned blue, and Aruna was in full control. She bared her neck, moving her head to the side to give the Alpha more access, the same words tumbling from their lips like a prayer;
"Mark me, Alpha..." Nox froze, bewildered by the sudden request, not sure what action she should take.
On one hand, it was safer for Aylin to be marked, and on the other hand, she wasn't sure if Aylin wanted this or if it was just delirium. She was never going to take advantage of her mate, no matter how much safer the omega would be in the long run.
Unlike the hesitation of her human, Nier had no such worries. She intuitively understood how badly the omega before them had wanted their Alpha's mark on them. Seeing that Nox was hesitant, Nier rolled her eyes and huffed at her stupid human.
How can you explain how good Nox was at everything but the most important things? At least she was good to their mate, otherwise Nier would have tortured her human in every way possible.
She took over, pushing Nox and her hesitation back, and gazed at their mate with dark amber eyes.
"What a good little omega" Nier praised, seeing as Aruna had yet to move both her and Aylin from their position. Aruna whined a signal for the Alpha to hurry and claim them.
' Just what were you so worried about you wuss? Look at how much they want it ' Nier spoke to Nox as she bent her head down to Aylin's neck, inhaling the pheromones.
Nox didn't respond, too busy watching their omega's reactions to their every move. Nier huffed in laughter ' You'd better thank me later' she spoke to Nox, before licking the whining omega's neck, right at the juncture between her neck and shoulder, where their mark was to lay. Aylin stilled, moving her head more to the side to give better access to the Alpha, her breath hitching in anticipation.
Nier traced the area where their mark was to rest with her tongue, her fangs extending and scraping gently against the sensitive skin. She could feel Aruna squirm beneath her, the omega having taken full control of her human, the same way she did to Nox. The blue orbs gazed at her with want and need, the desire evident in how her pheromones were primed to seduce, to make her Alpha lose all rationality. Nier did not waste a second longer, sinking her fangs into her mate's neck, embedding her pheromones deeply into the omega, mixing their scents.
Aylin was on cloud nine. What should have caused her pain brought nothing but soul-rending pleasure, sending her vision into a blinding field of white and crashing through her body, making her tremble violently as she let out a high-pitched whine that sounded more like a scream. Her body was thrumming, the pheromones her mate was sending through her stimulating her, causing her orgasm to be never-ending.
Nier retracted her fangs, lapping up the blood that had spilt due to her action. Aylin let out a series of little whines, nosing at Nox's neck. ' You're welcome, coward ' Nier said, giving Nox back the control she took. Nox cradled Aylin in her lap, choosing to ignore Nier's quip.
Aruna was still largely in charge of Aylin and she cuddled into their Alpha, wasting no time on teasing and preamble before her cute little fangs sunk themselves into Nox's neck. Nox tensed, a euphoric feeling unlike any other she had ever felt before spreading through her. Aruna pumped their pheromones into their Alpha. The pheromones that were flowing into her seemed to create an electric, buzzing feeling that did not stop until the fangs were retracted. She groaned, growling in pleasure at the feeling that coursed through her, stimulating her in every way possible.
It was over, they were mates. Now, it would be easier to track each other than to use GPS, and their wolves were now connected by an unbreakable bond. Aylin was back in control and she lay in Nox's embrace, spent. Nox couldn't help but feel a pang of guilt while watching the sleeping omega. She had not even managed to take her out on a date, yet here they were, bonded.
True, they had yet to consummate the bond, but did that matter? It was still a disservice to the omega. She was not one of those mates who took the fact that they were fated mates for granted to forgo the whole courting process. She had done the actions in reverse now, but she vowed to make it up to her little omega, no matter what.
---------------------------
Before they had the chance to properly take a breather, the day of the meeting arrived. In one of the largest meeting rooms present in the pack house, the allies of both the Oriol Pack and the Midnight pack gathered.
They waited with bated breath for Nox's arrival, as they all knew her capability in gathering intel, thanks to her incredible subordinates; the Cethins.
As soon as everyone was settled, she walked into the meeting room, that had been arranged into something akin to a hall. Her mate, Aylin, and the leader of the Cethins , Jade, followed her in. She walked past the gathered people, going straight to the front where the Oriol Pack members stood.
"Mother! Father! Thanks for coming all this way," she smiled, hugging the two in question. She then turned to Annalise and hugged her as well, ruffling her hair." It's nice to see you here as well, Anna" . Aylin gave greetings to the Oriol Pack members as well.
Nox spotted Marcus and walked over to him, noticing Delilah by his side.
" I see you did as I said, Jack." She said, glancing at Delilah.
"There was no way in hell I was going to leave her in the dark about this." Marcus shrugged. Nox nodded, walking to the front and centre of the room and speaking.
" As the Alpha of the Midnight Pack, I thank you all for joining us in this time of need. " She began, motioning for Jade to open the projector in order to display the information the Cethins gathered.
" As you all may or may not know, we have a war in our hands," she paused once more, waiting for the information to sink in.
" Now, everyone is well aware of the bloody war half a century ago that nearly destroyed the Oriol Pack, I'm sure." They nodded and she continued.
" The perpetrators of that war are the same of this one. However, the great difference between the two wars is that the enemy is well prepared. So much prepared, in fact, that they dare attempt to kidnap my mate and Luna of this pack, as well as the Luna of the Oriol Pack." She said, her hands clenched into a fist and her jaw tense, the muscles on her neck bulging. Aylin and Delilah looked at her in shock.
They knew that they were the targets of the war, but did not expect Nox to be so upfront about that fact. Still, they were quite miffed. They had yet to truly spend time with their mates yet here they were, with a war brewing. Honestly! Whoever this was was fucking delusional!
Delilah glanced up at her mate, thinking. This would explain how antsy he was the past two days, especially with how he had yet to let her out of his sight. She could understand his fear, seeing as she had no intentions of letting him fight the war either. However, she knew it was pointless to broach the subject with the stubborn man, seeing the loyalty he had towards his best friend. If she was not aware that Nox had a mate as well, she would've been consumed with jealousy over the ambiguous relationship the two Alphas shared.
"We will have to deal with forces numbering well into 5000. " Nox said, dropping the second bomb onto the shocked faces before her.
"Among them there are around 500 troops that are unaccounted for, and the rest consist of both hostile rogues as well as packs that allied with the enemy." Nox said, turning to the board behind her, where the locations of the gathered troops was displayed.
They were concentrated in different camps, which were all within good reach of each other. The probability of taking down even one camp was low, since there would be swift backup, and thus they would just end up surrounded. That's when the various Alpha's began to realise how dangerous this situation was.
"As you can see, this war is not going to be an easy one, that much is certain. Thus, we will need all the help we can get." Nox spoke, turning to their allies. For a long moment, everyone was silent, as if thinking of what they could offer. Then,a male voice rang out.
"Alpha Nox, if I may; I do not have much to offer in terms of troops, seeing as I can only spare 500 warriors. However, since my pack territory is closest to the battlefield, I offer up the pack in order to house any and all injured for treatment at the pack hospital." Alpha Brandon spoke, breaking the silence.
" Thank you, Alpha Brandon. Now that the medical station is set, we still need to keep the pups safe and it's better if they are all concentrated in one place, so that we won't be spread too thin. Also, we need to organise the warriors that will protect our respective territories as border guards, as well as how many we can spare to fight the war." She paused, turning to Jade.
"Jade will brief you all on the intel needed on the enemy's movements." She said gesturing to Jade, who had a frown on her face.
' What is it, Jade? ' Nox asked through the pack link.
' Alpha, my team has discovered the 500 unaccounted for troops, but there's an issue. '
' What's the issue? '
' The... issue is that all... all of them are battle witches from the Vates coven led by Hilda.' Jade said, her brows furrowed in frustration.
Nox could feel a frown grace her face as her anger began to simmer once more.
Fuck! She knew that her intuition about the severity of the battle could have been right, but she was not expecting such a turn of events.
What the fuck was Freya doing letting her witches run rampant? She had to speak to the paranormal council, and she had to do it now. She was not going to let that wizened old witch do as she pleased and ignore the regulations set by the council, especially when it put those she cared for in danger.
Her eyes flashed with amber and the whole room instantly became silent. Everyone could feel the angry aura surrounding the Alpha. Alpha Bernard's eyes flashed with concern and he walked towards Nox, placing a firm hand on her shoulder.
'What's wrong, sweetheart?" He asked, Luna Helen by his side, both staring at Nox worryingly.
Aylin herself had already placed Nox's hand in her own, silently comforting her mate.
Nox glanced at all of them, feeling her anger rising again at the thought of any of them being in danger. She steeled herself, calming down before speaking.
"This war has just become much more difficult than we had initially anticipated." She spoke, the subtle anger in her tone clear.
"What do you mean, more difficult?" Marcus asked, a frown gracing his face as well, Delilah tense beside him.
"I will explain, don't worry." She said, smiling gently at her mate to reassure her.
"However, first things first. Balor, contact the paranormal council."
