The Second Girls journey in Naruto

Chapter 5: Chapter 5 - Ninja School Things

Class was about to begin, and Iruka, the homeroom teacher, finally arrived.

The seating arrangements were mostly self-selected, so most students sat with familiar faces.

As a result, Kihanasaki Yashin ended up seated next to Ino, with Shikamaru, Choji, and Hinata behind them.

Meanwhile, Naruto and Sasuke sat alone—one because he had no friends, the other because he didn't care to make any.

…Hmm, I still don't have any friends either, Yashin thought to herself.

Iruka cleared his throat and started his opening speech.

He introduced himself, talked about the importance of the academy, and, of course, included the inevitable "Will of Fire" speech.

"Wherever the leaves dance, fire burns. The flame will illuminate the village, and when it is extinguished, new leaves will sprout once more."

The younger students who had never heard this before listened with wide eyes, inspired by his words. Some even secretly aspired to become Hokage. Naruto was among them, even if he probably didn't fully understand it yet.

As for Kihanasaki Yashin?

She was completely unfazed.

Inspirational speeches? Please. I've heard enough of those in my past life.

After Iruka's speech, it was time for self-introductions.

Yashin's lips curled slightly.

It's my time to shine again!

I can't wait to see everyone's reactions!

She glanced around the classroom, taking in the faces of her classmates.

Iruka called on the first student to introduce themselves—a lively-looking girl with twin ponytails. She stood up hesitantly, clearly nervous about speaking in front of everyone.

"Uh… H-hello, everyone! My name is Hanazawa Coriander, and, um… I don't really have anything else to say."

Iruka gave her an encouraging smile and led the class in a round of applause.

The others clapped along out of habit, including Yashin, who decided to play along.

The introductions continued.

Hinata was as shy as expected.

Ino was confident and unfazed.

Naruto boldly declared his dream to become Hokage, which caused a stir—some students admired his ambition, while others dismissed him.

Sasuke kept his cool, though his slight arrogance was already showing.

And then—

It was time for the main event.

Kihanasaki Yashin's turn.

The moment she stood up, Ino tensed.

She knew something was about to go wrong.

Even though she had repeatedly warned Yashin to give a normal self-introduction…

Even though she had begged her to just say her real name…

She still felt uneasy.

"Please, Yashin, just this once…"

Ino clutched the edge of her uniform nervously as Yashin walked to the podium.

In the quiet classroom, a few students began whispering.

"Why is she wearing a blindfold?"

"Is there something wrong with her eyes?"

Yashin ignored the chatter, took a deep breath, and—

With a perfectly serious expression, she spoke.

"Rejoice, humans!"

Ino slapped her forehead.

"It's over."

Yashin continued, completely unbothered by the growing murmurs.

"Consider yourselves lucky! For you have the privilege of hearing my words! I am the substitute for the Eye of Death! The founder of the Death Pact! The great sealer of the Demon King!"

She paused dramatically.

"Listen closely, for I shall now reveal my true name!"

She smirked.

"I am—Kihanasaki Yashin!"

The classroom fell into stunned silence.

Iruka's smile froze.

He had not been expecting this.

The reactions varied:

Naruto looked weirdly interested.

Ino covered her face in shame.

Sasuke stared at her like she was insane.

Everyone else was just confused.

"What… is she even talking about?"

"Something about the Eye of Death?"

"Sounds kinda cool, though…"

Iruka coughed awkwardly, trying to salvage the situation.

"Haha… um, well, that was… certainly a unique introduction…"

Yashin simply nodded.

"You're not bad either."

Iruka visibly twitched.

"…Okay, you may sit down now."

Yashin returned to her seat, satisfied.

Iruka rubbed his temples.

This year is going to be a problem…

After that chaotic moment, the remaining self-introductions felt dull in comparison.

Ino leaned toward Yashin, whispering angrily.

"Yashin! Didn't I tell you to keep it normal?!"

Yashin tilted her head innocently.

"But that was normal. I didn't even say half of what I wanted to."

"…Which part of that was normal?!"

Ino wanted to yell at her, but she restrained herself. A lady had to be composed in class.

With a deep sigh, Ino looked at Yashin's completely calm face and thought:

She's hopeless. Completely hopeless.

I have to save Yashin from her ridiculous way of thinking! This is my duty as a friend!

As Ino made her silent vow, Yashin…

Was already bored.

This class is dull.

She slouched in her seat, struggling to stay awake.

A few minutes later—

She gave up and went to sleep.

Of course, Ino noticed immediately.

[Yashin! Are you seriously sleeping during the first lesson?!]

She shook Yashin's arm in frustration.

Yashin groggily opened her eyes and mumbled:

"Don't disturb me… The Eye of Death requires deep meditation. If interrupted, the consequences could be dire…"

Then she immediately went back to sleep.

Ino stared at her, speechless.

…Isn't this just sleeping?!

A Chaotic First Day

Iruka noticed Kihanasaki Yashin dozing off and walked up to her desk with a smile.

"Are you feeling unwell, Yashin?"

Ino tensed up. She had always seen Iruka as a strict teacher, but now, faced with Yashin's blatant sleeping in class, she didn't want to expose her friend.

"Huh? Oh… um… Yashin might be… uh… not feeling great?" Ino replied hesitantly.

Iruka saw right through her. Instead of pressing Ino further, he gently shook Yashin's shoulder.

"Yashin? Are you awake?"

Yashin had only just fallen asleep, so waking up so soon left her disoriented. Her half-lidded eyes were foggy, and her first words startled the entire class.

"Has the Proclamation of the Gods ended?"

Proclamation of the… what?

Iruka's smile twitched. Keeping a straight face was getting harder.

"Yashin, are you really that sleepy?"

Now fully awake, Yashin seriously pointed at the blindfold covering her left eye.

"No! How could I be sleepy? It's just that the Eye of Death requires deep meditation to maintain its power."

Ino sighed. She knew that once Yashin got into this mindset, nothing could snap her out of it.

Iruka took a deep breath, forcing a patient smile.

"Well then, I have to ask—why do you wear a blindfold over your left eye?"

Oh no.

The moment he said it, Ino's heart dropped.

Teacher, why did you have to ask?!

She wanted to stop Yashin, but it was already too late.

Yashin's serious expression shifted into one of theatrical shock and awe.

"Oh? You actually noticed my hidden left eye?"

…What do you mean 'hidden'? It's covered by an obvious blindfold!

Iruka felt a headache coming on.

"Yes, I noticed," he admitted, bracing himself.

Yashin grinned.

"This eye… is no ordinary eye! The Eye of Death seals an unimaginable power—an ancient Demon King, far beyond what normal people can comprehend!"

She dramatically held out her hand.

"But I have long since mastered its power, so it no longer endangers ordinary humans. If you dare, I will grant you the right to witness it!"

Iruka felt a strong sense of regret.

But now that he had asked, he had no choice.

"…Alright. Let me see."

The moment the words left his mouth, he knew: he had made a mistake.

Sure enough—

Yashin leaped to her feet, striking a ridiculously exaggerated pose.

She waved her hands in the air, then snapped her fingers dramatically.

"BREAK! SPACE! SHATTER REALITY! THE EYE OF DEATH AWAKENS!"

Then—

She tore off her blindfold.

A bright flash exploded from her left eye.

For a brief moment, Iruka froze.

Could it be… a new, powerful Bloodline Limit?

But as the light dimmed, all that remained was—

A harmless, glowing magic circle pattern in her eye.

The class stared in stunned silence.

Ino and Shikamaru, however, immediately recognized it.

They weren't sure how Yashin made her eye glow, but they definitely recognized the familiar Six-Pointed Star Magic Circle.

There was no Eye of Death.

In the hallway, an unexpected witness had also seen the spectacle—Hiruzen Sarutobi.

The Third Hokage had simply come to check on Naruto's progress, but now…

He stroked his beard thoughtfully.

"…If that was real…"

Back in the classroom, Iruka had snapped out of his shock and was carefully analyzing Yashin's glowing eye.

Something wasn't right.

For one, both of her eyes were glowing.

Secondly, while her left eye had an interesting design, it clearly wasn't a natural dojutsu.

Ino, feeling things were going too far, took immediate action.

Before Yashin could continue her act, Ino swiftly reached out and yanked the "magical seal" off her eye.

Riiip!

Yashin let out a panicked cry.

"Ahh—NO!"

The entire class leaned forward… and then froze.

Beneath the sticker was…

A completely normal black eye.

Iruka and the students stared.

Yashin's entire aura collapsed.

Tears welled up in her eyes as she clutched at Ino's sleeve, looking genuinely heartbroken.

"My… my Eye of Death…"

Ino sighed, exasperated.

She quickly grabbed Yashin's hand and forced her into a bow.

"Mr. Iruka, I'm so sorry for Yashin's nonsense!"

Iruka already knew.

It was obvious.

This was all just a prank fueled by her overactive imagination.

Still, as a kind teacher, he couldn't bring himself to scold her.

Looking at her tearful eyes, he sighed.

"…Just don't do it again, alright?"

Yashin perked up immediately.

And just like that—Kihanasaki Yashin became famous.

The entire class started whispering about her.

Yashin, despite her failure, was secretly overjoyed.

My role-playing persona is complete!

That Night: Iruka's Unexpected Visitors

That evening, Iruka received two unexpected guests.

Standing at his doorstep were Kihanasaki Sakinoko and Kitahara Kira.

Yashin's parents.

They had already suspected their daughter's antics would cause trouble, so they had asked around and confirmed what had happened with Ino.

After bringing some snacks as an apology gift, they sat down to talk.

As they discussed Yashin's behavior, Iruka finally learned the truth behind her glowing eyes.

At first, he refused to believe it.

But no—it wasn't a dojutsu.

It wasn't a natural ability.

It was a jutsu.

A ninjutsu developed by six-year-old Yashin purely for dramatic effect.

…Iruka was completely speechless.

Of all the things a prodigy could create, she had spent her talent on making her eyes glow for theatrics.

What a waste…

That night, Iruka made a decision.

I will lead Yashin's talent down the right path.

Before leaving, Kitahara Kira bowed deeply.

"Mr. Iruka, please don't believe a word of Yashin's strange fantasies. She just reads too many weird books."

Iruka nodded.

I've already been through it once. I'd have to be an idiot to believe her again.

Kihana Sakinoko smiled warmly.

"Yashin will probably cause more mischief, so please be patient with her."

Iruka chuckled.

"I'll do my best to guide her properly."

As her parents walked away, Iruka looked up at the stars, sighing wistfully.

A willful girl…

"…I kinda wish I could be that free too."
