Chapter 13: Surprise! The Immortal Duo And A God...?
Chapter 12 - Surprise! The Immortal Duo And A God...?
-War Council Room-Konohagakure-
In this very room, the Hokage and Konoha's high-ranking Shinobi used it for all conflicts throughout Konoha's history. The last time it was used, it was for the preparations of the Fourth Shinobi World War between the Allied Shinobi Forces and the criminal organization, Akatsuki.
Tsunade sat on her knees as she watches her remaining Jonin and Chunin from the Reserve Squad entered the room before taking their seats in even lines, opposite from each other. Sitting next to her on her right is her fellow Kage, Mei Terumi, and on her left is A looking very intimidating compared to what he looked like during his depression. On the right side of the Raikage is Onoki and on the left side of Mei is Gaara who looked full of life.
It was easy to get the Mizukage and Raikage to the room since they lived somewhere in the village. As for Gaara and Onoki, the duo Kage left their villages in such a hurry, they didn't have time to pick their bodyguards for the trip because they had thought the same thing Tsunade did. Plus after meeting with the Sage of the Six Paths and learning of Naruto's survival and mission to save their world helped them a lot.
After everything is settled and everyone set, Tsunade spoke to them in a clear and commanding tone, "Let the first meeting of the Allied Shinobi Resistance begin!"
"HAI!"
The Konoha Shinobi exclaimed with life in them once again. Some of them even thought they're glad to see the Five Kage and their willpower alive since the war.
Tsunade looked to a Shinobi with a red tattoo on his left cheek, "What is the status of the Shinobi here in Konoha?"
"Lady Hokage, after receiving your secondary orders, I bear terrible news; the physicality and skill-wise of the Shinobi are severely degraded since the war. The same goes for our fellow Mizu-Shinobi and Kumo-Shinobi here as well. There are very few of us are combat-ready and in fighting shape."
A sighed while pinching the bridge of his nose, "I expected as much. Given the total of Shinobi here, Sunagakure and Tscuhigakure, how long will it take for them to be in fighting shape again?"
"… I do not know, Lord Raikage. Honestly it will take probably a month or so to get into decent fighting shape. Plus-"
*SLAM!*
Everyone snapped their heads to the doors and saw Konohamaru entering with a monkey behind him… carrying something. Tsunade's eyes widen when she saw the monkey as it looked like a younger version of her sensei's Summoning Animal, Enma. In fact both Konohamaru and the Summoning Animal are the spitting image of their relatives.
"What is the meaning of this?! This is a council meeting for the members of the Resistance," chided a Konoha Shinobi.
Konohamaru scoffed at the man, "I am a member of the Resistance." Imagine the stunned reactions of everyone present of that declaration.
"Don't be ridiculous! You are still a kid and a Genin no less!" chided A.
"So is Naruto!" Everyone went silent. "I understand he has more experience in combat and more powerful than me, but I am a Konoha Shinobi just like him, you all and my grandfather. Besides…" Konohamaru glanced over his shoulder and nodded to Enma Jr. The young but tall monkey dropped the object on the floor, surprising everyone in the room. It was a male Shinobi in a Sunagakure uniform and wearing a headband with the Kanji "Ten Tails" on it. "Our enemy is watching us or was until I found him."
"Wait a minute, you said Naruto has more experience than you. You talk as if he's alive and as you all know; Naruto died with Killer Bee and the Forces by the Shinju." A Konoha Shinobi with red hair said.
"Never mind that for now." The Tsuchikage countered before looking at Konohamaru, "Where did you find him, young one?" asked Onoki as he felt a little nostalgia since the boy reminded him of Hiruzen.
"… Outside of this very building. On top of the Hokage Monument, and I believe he was using a Earth Style technique." Outrage exploded from the mouths of the Shinobi but the Five Kage who sat stoic as they reeled this information. "And that's just one guy. My team has the rest of them in body bags outside."
Tsunade raised a brow, "Your team? What team?"
Konohamaru didn't give a verbal answer instead he snapped his fingers. Blurs appeared from the ceiling of the Council Room and landed behind the Sarutobi member and his animal partner, shocking the high-ranking Shinobi even the Kage. Standing in front of them are the Genin-level Shinobi around Konohamaru's age with no sign of joy or happiness but pride and determination written in their eyes.
"Lady Tsunade," said Konohamaru, catching the Sannin's attention, "Right now you're probably thinking to forbid us from fighting because us fighting in the upcoming battles reminds you of your grandfather and granduncle's childhoods during the Warring Clans Period. I understand that… but this time it's completely different." Everyone leaned in as they listened to the boy's words, "Back then, Lords Harshirama and Tobirama fought because it was senseless violence and chaos. Now we are structured, connected and unified as one organization, not as one clan or village. Our generation inherited our freedom… now let us fight for that freedom."
Everyone before the young Shinobi were awe-struck by the latter's words of wisdom comparable to the Third Hokage. So in awe, they didn't react to the puff of smoke appear next to him and revealed a elder green toad with white hair styled in a somewhat of a Mohawk, very thick eyebrows and a small goatee and sporting a high-collar cape.
When Tsunade snapped out of her stupor, she saw the toad and instantly recognized him. "Lord Fukasaku! What are you doing here?"
"I come with a message for you, Tsunade-girl, but this is perfect since all the other Kage are here as well. Saves me the trouble of traveling to the other villages," Fukasaku said as he took a deep breath with a smile, "Naruto-boy is alive and he has found the first Sealing Key."
"He has?!" asked Konohamaru in shock while the other Shinobi muttered to themselves about Naruto being alive.
"You spoke with him?" asked Gaara in shock as well.
"Yes, I have. I was shocked at first, but I had a feeling that he was still alive and I was right. He also told me of what's happening in the World he's in and his current situation."
"Go on," said Mei with her curiosity peaked at the highest level.
And so Fukasaku proceeded to tell them what Naruto told him; the Shinigami and their powers, the Hollows and the new enemies Naruto encountered. While the other Kage listened to the new information, Tsunade smiled to herself and felt happy of the boy continuing to fight for them and their home.
(Shinigami World Universe)
-Urahara's Shop-Karakura Town-
Looking around the room he was sitting in, Naruto had to admit it was nice. The living room looked small but it had room enough for five people at the time.
"I wonder how Granny Tsunade and the others react about me being alive and all. Hehe, it was funny the way Master Fukasaku reacted when he first saw me… but the bump was unnecessary," complained Naruto with tears streaming on his face while touching the bump on his head.
"You may not have liked it, but I sure did."
"Hey, Kurama… Shut up!" thought Naruto through the telepathy link.
"Oh, good one." Kurama remarked sarcastically as he recalled what happened over the past minutes.
After Naruto entered the shop, he was guided to the living room while Urahara instructed the kids to go to bed, much to their chargin. Later on, Urahara explained his reasoning of placing the Key inside of Rukia; Aizen was close to discovering the Key, but it turns out he wanted the Hogyoku and knew nothing of the Key. Why? Because the Hogyoku itself is actually a case to protect and shields the Key's energy while it has its own individual energy.
Urahara then asked Naruto hand over the Hogyoku so he can open it and return the Key to him. The Jinchuriki complied and was told to wait or sleep until the procedure is done. So while he waited, Naruto thought it was time to let the others know of him and his mission and summoned Fukasaku. One thing led to a serous bump later, Fukasaku understood and returned to the Elemental Nations.
"Honestly, I didn't expect the Summoning Jutsu to work between this world and our world."
"Well it was a long shot, but we now know that it does work and we can summon Chief Toad and the others. I wonder how are Gamakichi and Gamatatsu doing?"
"Don't ask me. Ask Fukasaku when you summon him again."
Naruto face-palmed when he heard that. "Shoot! I was supposed to summon him back by now." While he started doing the hand-signs, Kurama muttered 'idiot blonde' but Naruto chose to ignore it. "Summoning Jutsu." A series of fuinjutsu markings emitted on the ground after Naruto slammed his right hand on the table in front of him. A puff of smoke later, Fukasaku arrived with a grin plastered on his face. "Master Fukasaku… how did they react about… you know."
"What do you think, Naruto-boy?"
The Sage rubbed his cheek sheepishly, "Right. So any news?" A moment or two later, he was surprised by the status of his world, "So Granny Tsunade, Gaara and the other Kage are reforming the Shinobi Alliance into the Shinobi Resistance. The Toads, Slugs, Eagles, and the other animals from the Summoning Island will help the Resistance. Konohamaru has just been promoted to Chunin, but also is the Captain of the 1st Division that consists of short-and-mid-range combat fighters. The other 3 divisions are consisted of short, mid and long range young Shinobi like Konohamaru until the older Shinobi regain their strength including the Five Kage…"
"Yes, Naruto-boy," said Fukasaku, causing his former student to breathe in deeply, "Young one, you should know that myself, Ma and the entire Toads will help you with no hesitation. Count on that." Fukasaku then outstretched his small arm to the boy.
Naruto smiled as he gave a handshake to his former master, "Thanks… Pa. Tell Ma and the others I said hi." With that, Fukasaku said his good bye and returned to his home. "… You could've come out, Urahara. I would've wanted you to meet one of my teachers." The said man opened the slide door and entered the room with his cheery smile.
"And interrupt your reunion? I'm not that kind of person you, you know!" Kisuke said cheerily while waving his fan.
"Right…" Naruto deadpanned before he noticed something else, "Where is the-"
"-The Key, you ask?" Kisuke interjected before he reached into his cloak and pulled the object.
Naruto raised a brow at the so-called Key when Kisuke placed it in his right hand before he felt a mountain rush of power flowing through him. It all felt a second before the rush dispersed, causing the boy to breathe deeply before he took a closer look at the Key. It is a small pendant that resembles the crest of the Senju Clan, which stands for indestructible and unstoppable force.
"Hey, Kurama. You seeing this?"
"What kind of question is that?"
"Gee, sorry I asked. Do you think the other keys will be clan crests… like this one?"
"Perhaps… but remember that the Senju Clan was long after the Old Man's time. So how could he have known about their crest?"
"I should be asking you that since you're technically his 'kid.' "
"I AM NOTHING OF THE SORT! YOU BETTER TAKE TH-"
Naruto rolled his eyes after cutting of the link. He then saw Kisuke looking at him oddly and answered, "I was spacing out. Sorry."
"That's cool… Now about the conditions of you living here."
"C-conditions?" Naruto stuttered with a sweat-drop.
"Yep!"
Few minutes later, Yoruichi in her cat form is sleeping on the pantry until…
"ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!"
Down she goes… into the bucket of dirty water and other unfortunate components.
-(Three Weeks Later)-Yamamoto's Office-First Division-
If there is anything the Head Captain didn't like to do, it was one thing; paperwork. He's been in countless battles, fighting powerful opponents with the scars to prove them, but paperwork has been his constant enemy ever since he founded the Gotei 13 and became its leader.
"*sigh* Why me?"
It's been a while since the Ryoka returned to the World of the Living and repairs are almost finished in the damaged areas of Soul Society, much to the Head Captain's relief. However another problem rose a week ago about Human souls being drained and absorbed by beings that were thought to have been destroyed: the Bounts. The descriptions of the beings and the attacks were reported by both Rukia Kukichi and Renji Abarai during their current stay in the World of the Living.
Looking out at the vast open view of the entire Sereitei from his seat, Yamamoto couldn't help but smile a little. "Even if it's just a short time, peace is nice right now." Yamamoto said before his senses went off big time. A few seconds later, a series of explosions occurred, "Those Spiritual Pressures…"
"Head Captain!" The Shinigami glanced to find his Lieutenant behind him after a Shunpo. "Sir! The Sereitei is under attack!"
"I can see that…"
"Sir?" asked Chojirabe confused. Usually the Head Captain acts accordingly and swiftly whenever an attack occurs in Soul Society, but this time he's taking his time?
"… Send all forces will focus on protecting the barracks and the citizens in the Rukon districts. The Captains are to handle the intruders and their Lieutenants are to only observe the battle."
Chojiro raised a brow confused. "Battle?"
"… He was right. They are crossing over to our dimension." Yamamoto said, further confusing his subordinate.
-(Few Moments Earlier)-District #38-Rukon District-
The civilians were minding their own business and doing something to pass the time until their time to be reincarnated back into the World of the Living. Nothing interesting ever happens here in the districts until a black portal appears out in the middle of the dirt road, causing a crater beneath it. From it are two very intimidating and frightening men in strange attire.
The man is average height with medium-length slicked back silver hair and distinctive purple eyes. He wears a headband around his neck with the 'Ten Tails' kanji and a open cloak with red clouds, its entire right sleeve and upper right torso gone, leaving only the left side intact. Lastly his most distinctive physical aspect is the large scythe with three blades, the smallest at the bottom and the biggest at the top.
"…"
"Jeez! You think someone would change after dying twice. I guess that's not your case, is it… Kakuzu?"
Kakuzu is a tan-skinned and tall man, just a little taller than Hidan and long dark brown hair and unusual eyes since they were green irides, no pupils and red sclerae. He wears a white hood, a headband on his forehead with the kanji 'Ten Tails' like his partner and a black mask, leaving only his eyes to be visible to all those who see him.
"… Let's find the Key and… Uzumaki," said Kakuzu with clear anger when he said the name.
"Tch! Can't believe that Jinchuriki brat is still alive, but I can't wait to kill him after I fight him." Hidan said before he spotted several people staring at him and his partner. "What the hell are you looking at!? I'll kill you all as tribute to Jashin!" Grabbing his scythe from his back, Hidan dashed towards the scared people and swung his weapon.
Ignoring the screams of the slaughtered victims, Hidan laughed manically as he continued his rampage while Kakuzu muttered one word. "Idiot." He said before forming a few hand signs before stopping at the Ram sign, "Lightning Style: False Darkness."
The buildings that housed the wandering souls exploded in a mushroom cloud. Just another day in Soul Society, it seems.
-With Ichigo, Chad, Orihime and Uryuu-
Peace ran amongst the citizens of the graceful town while its protectors attended the dreaded prison that is mandatory for their age; school. "Geez, I'm beat," said Ichigo as he walked alongside with Uryuu, Orihime and Chad. "Between school and dealing with Hollows, I'd rather deal with the latter choice. Glad it's the weekend."
"You're just saying because you got an F on your last test," remarked Uryuu, causing a tick mark on the Shinigami's head. He then looked at Orihime who looked to be deep in thought, "Something on your mind, Orihime?"
The healer of the group snapped out of her thoughts and found her three best friends staring at her in concern or curiosity. "Oh. I was just thinking if we could take Naruto for a tour of the city. He hasn't stepped out of Urahara's shop since the night we came back. I think he only came out whenever Hollows appear in the town."
"That's true." Were the thoughts of the male trio's minds. The only time they see their ninja friend is at the home of the eccentric exiled Shinigami, Urahara, and that's also when Ichigo fights with Naruto to get better control of his Shinigami powers especially his Bankai, only to end up losing to him every time due to the blonde's more combat experience and his advanced/unusual techniques.
"He once told me the reason he stays inside the shop is training," said Chad in deep voice as usual, "Perhaps this is somewhat connected to the missing body and that mysterious woman Yoruichi encountered a week ago."
"Naruto told me something similar during one of our sparring sessions, but he also says he trains to maintain his strength and get stronger." Ichigo said as they turned right to the alley that leads to the shop. Eventually they entered the shop and found Tessai cleaning the living room with determination. "Hey Tessai!"
"Why hello there, Ichigo. And you brought your friends as well," said Tessai moving to restock the shelves with candy. "Naruto is downstairs with the boss, Renji and Rukia."
With that in mind, the group ran down the hall and entered the hidden/underground training field. However it wasn't long when they heard crashes and verbal curses thrown around and found Naruto and Renji sparring with Rukia, Urahara and Yoruichi on the sidelines. That's when Ichigo noticed Rukia is wearing her Shinigami robe instead of the white kimono, meaning that her Shinigami powers had returned.
"Hey," Ichigo greeted to the spectators as he, Orihime, Chad and Uryuu took a seat next to them to watch the spar between their two friends.
"Stop moving around and fight me directly!"
"Nope. I don't wanna and you can't make me!" Naruto said child-like with a grin.
Renji gnashed his teeth with a tick mark, "Fine! Roar Zabimaru!" He said his Shikai release command as his left hand slide over the katana blade. The blade transformed into an even longer 6-part segmented blade, with each segment wider than the one preceding it, with 2 pick-like protrusions on the front and the back of each segment. "Take this!"
Naruto's eyes widen a little before he side-stepped the whip-like blade with ease. "Whoops! You miss just like the last fifteen times."
"Shut up!"
"Now, now…" Naruto and Renji looked to the approaching Urahara with Ichigo and the others following his trail, "That is enough for today. I don't want to rebuild my training grounds again… for the thirteenth time." Since the night after giving the Key back and keeping the Hogyoku under lock and key, the Shinigami allowed Naruto to use the underground training grounds so the young man can train to get stronger… That was a mistake he regretted.
"What?" complained Naruto after he placed Tenkaichi back inside of its sheath on his back as Renji did the same with his sword by his left waist as well. "Come on man! Let me train for a half-hour more. Please!"
"Why do you train everyday?" Uryuu commented, "Your strength is great enough to match the Head Captain of the Gotei 13 and left almost unscathed. From that fact alone, you are the easily the strongest out of all of us."
"Hehe… well I don't mean to toot my own horn-"
"However, you act like a child sometimes and I wonder how you managed to survive with your head intact." Uryuu recoiled in fear when Naruto leapt at him, but the latter was stopped by the combined efforts of Ichigo and Chad holding him back with some difficulty. "See?"
After calming Naruto down, both Ichigo and Chad let go of him while rubbing their arms. "Geez! What's this guy made of?" Ichigo thought while Orihime approached the Shinobi.
"Naruto, we were wondering… if you'd like a tour of the town," asked Orihime with a cute smile. So cute that it made Naruto slightly blushed. "All of us are up to it."
For some reason, he felt compelled to take up their offer. "Sure! I'll-"
"Mr. Urahara/Boss!" Everyone present turned to the large stairwell to find Ururu, Jinta and Tessai running towards to their location with fear and anxiety. "You all must come to take a look at this," said Tessai in grief. They all ran up to the living room where the television was left on and were shocked not by the few buildings in downtown Karakura on fire, but by a dozen of Hollows in the area.
"Well, looks like you guys are gonna be-" Urahara stopped short when he turned around to find Naruto, Renji, Ichigo and Rukia already gone with Ichigo's body on the ground, indignantly leaving Orihime, Uryuu and Chad behind. "-Busy."
-With Hidan and Kakuzu-West Gate-Soul Society-
After satisfying their drive to kill by slaughtering countless lives around them, the two Shinobi made their way to the gathering of high Chakra levels behind the large walls that stands before them.
"Well, come on! We're getting nowhere by standing!"
"Hmm… Impatient as always… You don't check your surroundings for anything that looks suspicious or the changes in the air or the thirteen people standing behind us right now." Kakuzu said before turning around to face the newcomers.
Hidan grumbled 'Asshole' before turning around in the same direction like his partner did and saw the people that will be their opponents. The first group consists of mostly males and two females wearing black kimonos with a white cloak over it and katanas by their sashes. The second group also sports the same black kimono and katanas but a badge of some sort wraps around their left sleeves.
"So which one of you is the strongest!?" Guess who that is.
"What kind of question is that! I'm stronger than this idiot!" Hidan rebuked harshly while waving his arms.
Instincts flaring, the crazed Shinobi quickly grabbed his large scythe and blocked a slash from the spiky haired guy with the eye patch and was sent skidding backwards on his feet a good distance away. Hidan stabbed his weapon into the ground, suddenly stopping his unwanted backwards motion with his head down and body slouched.
Before he knew it, a bark of laughter came from Hidan as he faced the spiky opponent. "This is great! I like that look in your eyes. You will be an excellent tribute to Jashin! But before I do, what is your name?" he said with a maniacal grin similar to the man in front of him.
"I am Captain Kenpachi Zaraki of the 12th Division." Kenpachi replied with his grin threatening to split his face. "Let's do this!"
Kakuzu sighed when his partner and his opponents disappeared from sight before turning his attention back to the rooftops, specifically those wearing the white cloak. If that spiky haired man is a Captain, then they are Captains as well and their high Chakra levels are a dead giveaway. "Who will be my opponent? Personally it does not matter to me since you all will fall before me." A snort came from the petite female Captain, "Before we get to business, I have one question."
"Speak before I lose my patience," snarled Soi-Fon with her hand resting on her sword's hilt.
"Where is Naruto Uzumaki?"
His answer was a Captain with a scarf around his neck and stoic look jumped from the roof, sword in hand. "That is classified information since Uzumaki is an ally of the Gotei 13. You will meet your demise… Kakuzu." Byakuya Shunpoed in front of him and swung his sword at the man's head, planning to decapitate him. What he didn't expect was the man lifted his right arm and blocked the attack with visible sign of strain or pain.
Kakuzu chuckled as he pushed the man backwards and took off his cloak, revealing his arms to be black. "Earth Style: Iron Skin. Surprise? You haven't seen anything yet… What is your name?"
"Captain Byakuya Kukichi of the 6th Division… And you will not step any further. I shall bring your demise." Byakuya stated as he raised his Spiritual Pressure as did Kakuzu unknowingly in response to it.
With that, the two calm combatants disappeared with their respective high-speed movement techniques. Shockwaves shook the air whenever they clashed with blade and arm and a shout of "Fire Style: Searing Migraine."
-Downtown-Karakura Town-
Everyone was confused and terrified. Not by the sudden explosions and the fire-endowed buildings. Nope. Their feelings comes from the displays of varying clothes scattered all over the streets and sidewalks and random people being picked up in the air by something before disintegrating into nothing. To them, that is obviously.
If there is one unique advantage the Hollows possess over those with low Spirit Energy, it is their invisibility to them. And that invisibility is working splendidly for them as always.
The horde of dozen Hollows are four-legged types with long tails and have dog-like masks with long tongues sticking out of their jagged teeth, proof of their devouring of souls amongst others. However there was one that is larger and has more of a humanoid upper body structure than the rest of its kin with a two horns. It spotted a mother clutching her baby close and thought of two for the price of one before it reached out for its unsuspecting and terrified meals.
"Gee. You think these Hollows would learn from their dead comrades' demise from the past three weeks."
The Hollow stopped his action as another voice spoke.
"Well, I better get this over with. I'm tired and I want to go home."
"Hold it! You took the Hollows the last time, Ichigo. I should take this one!"
"You're not a Shinigami, Naruto!"
"Who asked you Renji!?"
The crew of Hollows looked up at the roof of a tall building and found a group of teens with three of them wearing the familiar clothing of the Shinigami and a blonde Human sporting a orange jacket and dark pants with a black headband and a sword on his back. However the three males pitted their heads against each other while gnashing their teeth for dominance.
However the blonde broke the small squabble and smirked, "Well I guess we'll settle this like we always have." Naruto raised his hand just as the smirking Shinigami agreed and raised their hands high in the air as well. "Ready… Now! Rock…"
"Paper!"
"Scissor!"
"GO!" All the boys shouted.
Rukia and even the Hollows sweat-dropped when the three males chose a child's game to determine the one to exterminate the group.
"Ah! Damn it!" Ichigo said after he, Naruto and Renji brought their hands down to decide the winner. Both Ichigo and Renji chose Rock while Naruto chose Paper. "He must've cheated." Renji agreed to this while Naruto jumped around the roof, bragging about his win… again.
"Okay! Since I'm going to take care of them, you should-" Naruto stopped when a gasp came from Rukia. "What? What is it?"
"Look at your legs, you dolt!" Renji barked at the blonde.
Naruto tilted his head for a moment before he complied and looked down, only to freak out when he did. His legs and clothing are liquefying into water before disintegrating into mist. "What the hell!? Guys, help *gargle*" His mouth turned water along with the rest of his head.
"Naruto!" Ichigo reach out for the blonde, but he was a second late as the last lock of the whiskered boy's blonde hair disintegrated into mist.
That's when a ringing tune played from inside Rukia's robe and she pulled out a cell phone. The phone is a transmitter that allows her and other Shinigami to access Soul Society public records. She flipped the phone open and found a message on the screen before reading it.
Renji saw Rukia's eyes widen and had to ask her. "Rukia. What's wrong?" The petite Shinigami looked at him and Ichigo.
"Soul Society has been invaded by two unknown Ryoka."
"Is it the Bounts?" asked Renji with a lone sweat on his forehead. Rukia shook her head, "If it's not them, then who is it?"
Rukia shrugged her shoulders, "All I know is that Captain Zaraki and my brother are engaging them right now. The other Captains and Lieutenants are ordered to observe them."
"Why?" asked Ichigo confused with a raised brow.
"I don't know."
Silence ran among the three Shinigami before Ichigo spoke again, "Let's head back to Urahara's and find out where Naruto is." He glanced over his shoulder to look at the carefully retreating Hollows, "After we deal them."
The Hollows stopped in their tracks and looked back to see three slashes from metal before they disintegrated into black particles.
-Unknown Location-
"Where am I?"
Naruto slowly opened his eyes, so they can adjust to the unexpectedly bright lights. He then pulled him-self to stand and observed his surroundings. Surprise doesn't even cover it.
There were twelve seats standing in a 'U' around what appears to be a hearth in the largest room that he's ever been in. The hearth itself has a dim flame, barely brightening the room. The seats themselves are also huge and looks like they were built to hold giants 20x their size and the ceiling has multiple stars like the night time in Karakura Town.
"What is this place? Kurama?"
"I have no idea, kid but keep a lookout. I sense a very powerful presence here and its power is staggering."
"You're saying it's stronger than you?"
Kurama snorted at the question. "Did I say that? Don't be stupid, Naruto. I am very powerful in my own right." Naruto grinned at the response.
"That's what I like to hear."
Kurama has the same grin like his Jinchuriki before he sensed a powerful energy converging near his host. "Naruto!"
"I know. Just be ready in case." Naruto said as a Rasengan burst to life in his right hand while Kurama agreed with a growl. He drew a Hiraishin Kunai and held it in reverse with his left hand in case for teleportation uses.
Suddenly a bright light exploded a few feet from the young Shinobi, causing him to cover his eyes with left arm. He felt his skin and clothes stinging from the light as if its presence is too much for his body to handle at all. Naruto managed to keep the Rasengan in tact and in time too since the light disappeared moments later.
Slowly, he lowered his raised arm and saw a man standing in front of him. He was a tall, tan man with black hair, a neatly trimmed beard, sea-green eyes. He has glowing bluish-white tattoos over his arms and torso and sports a sleeveless Hawaiian shirt with khaki shorts and leather sandals. The last characteristic Naruto noticed of the man is the weapon he held in his right hand. It is a three-pronged golden spear with energy bolts surging through it and two leather grips on it: one close to the prongs and the other about halfway down.
Swallowing a lump in his throat, Naruto asked the mysterious and intimidating man standing before him. "Who are you?"
"I am the Greek God of the Seas, Horses, Storms, Hurricanes and Earthquakes. I am one of the Twelve Olympians Gods. I am Poseidon!" He pointed his weapon at the boy, "And you are my Champion."
Both Naruto and Kurama's eyes bulged out when they heard that, though you couldn't see the latter's expression. After moments silence between the two man, Naruto said two words.
"SAY WHAT!?"
